EXCLUSIVE Stylist reveals Jeff Bezos' major fashion faux pas at Venice wedding to Lauren Sanchez

A stylist has revealed Jeff Bezos ' major fashion faux pas at his Venice wedding to Lauren Sanchez.
The billionaire Amazon founder, 61, was spotted exiting his hotel to head to their lavish nuptials on San Giorgio Maggiore island in Italy on Thursday afternoon.
He donned a chic black tuxedo and was all smiles as he got onto a water taxi.
However, a fashion expert has now revealed exclusively to the Daily Mail that the tech mogul made a serious error with his wedding look.
According to Liz Teich, a New York-based personal stylist, Jeff should not have worn a pre-tied bow tie.
'My biggest criticism of his look is that I wish he didn't choose a pre-tied bow tie. It always looks more elevated to tie your own,' she said.
She also pointed out that it looks like he has his iPhone in his pocket, something she feels is a big no-no when you want to look your best.
'I may never let my husband live it down for having his iPhone showing in his pant pocket for every photograph at our wedding,' she joked.

'But just like my husband, Jeff may have been more focused on what's happening around them and his bride [to think about how his iPhone might look].'
Lastly, Liz stated that the groom's suit was 'slightly small on him,' but she added that as a stylist, she prefers fits that are too tight rather than too loose.
However, a man with a net worth of $226 billion has access to the best tailors in the world, so it's certainly odd that his tuxedo doesn't fit perfectly.
'Dress shirt sleeves should hit right past the base of the thumb and show about half of an inch of the cuff out of the jacket sleeve,' Liz explained.
'Judging by length... and how it's pulling at the button, it may be slightly small on him, though as a stylist, I appreciate a fitted suit over a sloppy, baggy one.'
Jeff and Lauren's lavish multi-day wedding celebration is estimated to have cost them $20 million.
A slew of their famous friends including Gayle King, Oprah Winfrey, Ivanka Trump, Orlando Bloom, Usher, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner, amongst others, are all in attendance.
Guests arriving at the luxurious affair were greeted to the sounds of trumpets, violins and a Gospel Choir.

Lauren has yet to emerge in her wedding dress, but hours earlier, the award-winning journalist made her first appearance of the day when she was spotted leaving the five star Aman Hotel in a ladylike white Dior puff sleeve suit, paired with a head scarf and oversized sunglasses.
She also appeared to show off a brand new enormous diamond ring for the occasion.
Last night, it was revealed that Jeff and Lauren had already married legally ahead of today's ceremony on San Giorgio Maggiore island.
They kicked off the weekend-long celebrations with a star-studded welcome dinner on Thursday evening at the Campo Della Madonna dell'Orto.
But the billionaire couple and their A-list guests were forced to take cover from a freak thunderstorm during the pre-wedding party.
The pair are said to have rented out a number of places in the Italian city to celebrate the lavish nuptials.
The original plan was for a huge party at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia on Saturday night, but it has now been moved to another venue in the Arsenale area of the city, according to local media.

Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos ridiculed by tech giant over wedding detail

Billionaire Jeff Bezos has just tied the knot with Lauren Sanchez in a luxurious ceremony in picturesque Venice, Italy. Their long-awaited day, dubbed the 'wedding of the century,' was flooded with A-list stars and celebrity friends who journeyed to enjoy the $20 million wedding. Despite designer dresses and crisp tuxes, there was one aspect of the fabulous day that raised eyebrows - the couple's initial invitation. The invite, which was obtained by ABC News earlier this week, featured what appeared to be computer-generated designs of butterflies, doves, the Venice canals, gondolas, and feathers in purple, gray and pink. But, on Thursday, Adobe Express - a content creator tool - took to Instagram with a subtle slight to the bride and groom. After receiving mixed reviews about their 'cringe' wedding invitation, the creative tool posted a much more sophisticated-looking version. 'I know you said no gifts, but… it really only took us a couple minutes. XOXO, Adobe Express,' the post's caption read. The new design was set on a cream backdrop with one lone butterfly at the top above a sleek line and the words, 'Jeff & Lauren.' In large, swirly font, it read, 'Join us in Venice' before it mirrored the text on the newlywed's invitation. 'We're excited for you to join us! We have one early request: please, no gifts,' it read. 'Instead, we're making contributions in your honor and with gratitude to you for making the journey to celebrate with us in Venice. 'Donations on your behalf are being made to the UNESCO Venice Office to safeguard the city's irreplaceable cultural heritage, to CORILA to restore the lagoon habitats that protect Venice's future, and to Venice International University to support research and education for sustainable solutions. 'This magical place has gifted us unforgettable memories. Our hope is that through these efforts and by you joining us, Venice will continue to inspire wonder for generations to come.' Fans were quick to flood the comments, praising Adobe Express for its cleverness as it poked fun at the newlyweds. 'Jeff could have used a little help from Express,' one user stated. 'The Adobe Express social team working overtime for this masterpiece,' another wrote. 'Jeff Bezos works hard but the Adobe social team works harder,' someone else joked. 'The world is on fire, but I deeply respect the shade game of whoever is running the @AdobeExpress Instagram account. Dragging Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez on their ugly Venice wedding invites,' someone wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. Others were shocked after realizing the invitation with birds and butterflies was that which was actually sent out to celebrity guests. 'Wait... what?!? They sent the second slide? Seriously?' a comment said. 'I was so confused - I legit thought the first one *was* the invite. What in the Word Clip Art is going on in the second slide??' a user asked. Last night it was revealed Bezos, 61, and Sanchez, 55, have already married legally ahead of today's ceremony on San Giorgio Maggiore Island. A-listers including many of the Kardashian sisters and Kris Jenner, Oprah Winfrey and Orlando Bloom jetted in to Italy earlier this week for the nuptials which come two years after Bezos asked Sanchez to marry him on his $500 million superyacht. But preparations for the couple's big day have been far from plain sailing with protesters planning to disrupt the celebrations, even forcing a late venue change.

How trendsetting Brit Anna Wintour became fashion's ultimate force at Vogue – with NO ONE safe from her sharp tongue

SHE came, she saw the fashion world from behind her Chanel sunglasses, she conquered. After 37 years as the formidable force on US Vogue, Anna Wintour is stepping aside as Editor-in-Chief. 6 6 The move marks the end of an era, in which the UK-born power player ruled the fashion industry with a perfectly manicured fist. One flick of her hair or glance and your fate was sealed. Dame Anna, honoured by Queen Elizabeth II in 2017 in full Chanel couture, turned unknown models into stars, transformed 'trashy' celebs into tastemakers, and set trends the high street copied. Her signature razor-sharp bob — which she has had since the age of 14 — needs two daily blow-dries (morning and evening) and near-constant trims. Her attitude is equally polished — and feared. Nicknamed Nuclear Wintour for her icy reputation, she remains fashion's most enigmatic personality. The documentary The September Issue offered a rare peek inside Vogue's Manolo Blahnik-strewn corridors, capturing the chaos of assembling an 840-page edition of the magazine in 2007. Debuting in 2009 at Sundance and grossing around £7million, the film cemented Anna's status as the ultimate force in fashion. Surrounded by 'thin, rich and young' people Her frosty persona inspired The Devil Wears Prada's Miranda Priestly — Meryl Streep's pursed lips and cutting glares were taken straight from the Wintour playbook — and even The Incredibles' eccentric designer Edna Mode was modelled on her. But inside Vogue, Anna's power wasn't a scowl or stare. It was a yellow Post-it note stuck to the bottom of a printout, bearing the a seal of approval 'AWOK' — Anna Wintour OK — which could make or break careers. One star Anna truly legitimised was Kim Kardashian. When she boldly put Kim and then-fiance Kanye West on Vogue's cover in 2014, the fashion elite gasped. Anna Wintour finally sets record straight on Met Gala outfit rule rumor after years of speculation Her response? 'If we only put tasteful people on the cover, no one would talk about us.' Anna also championed other stars — giving Kendall Jenner strong Vogue backing and helping her break into high fashion. She championed Gisele Bundchen in the late 1990s and early 2000s, featuring her on many Vogue covers, and Kate Upton's debut on the front of the magazine in 2013 signalled a shift toward embracing curvier models in the industry. Infamously private, Anna Wintour's influence is impossible to ignore. The Devil Wears Prada even became a musical — proof of her cultural reach. At 75, she kept Vogue not just relevant, but reigning as fashion and culture's ultimate authority. From supermodel golden eras to today's social media trends, Anna transformed the title from a magazine into a global style empire. Every May, she breaks the internet with the Met Gala — her annual, star-studded spectacle where celebrities stun in jaw-dropping looks. What was once a low-key fundraiser transformed under her reign into fashion's most exclusive, over-the-top, meme-worthy night. 6 6 Starting in 2004, Anna harnessed showbiz glamour to skyrocket the event into global fame. Today, from TikTokers to A-listers, the guest list is fiercely selective — just 30 seconds of fame on a bright red carpet holds massive cultural weight. While Anna wields immense power over designer brands and celebrities, she has also had a huge impact on the high street. From her very first Vogue cover mixing budget jeans with couture, she has championed accessible fashion for all. Anna has been key in shaping runway trends that trickle down to high street retailers. In 2009, she launched Fashion's Night Out, turning shopping into a celebrity- studded, cocktail-fuelled event in New York and London, raising funds for causes such as the NYC AIDS Fund and September 11 Memorial until the event ended in 2013. But Anna did not just dip into retail — she transformed the high-street experience. By blending celebrity appeal, charity and immersive theatre, she redefined how brands engage with shoppers. She was a fixture at Topshop's London Fashion Week shows and has long championed luxury-meets-store collaborations — think Balmain x H&M — bringing runway glamour to the masses and giving the UK high street a major boost. FASHION QUEEN In an interview with The Times last year, Anna tipped her hat to Gap for snapping up designer Zac Posen and gave props to Uniqlo for working with Givenchy's former artistic director Clare Waight Keller, who had designed Meghan Markle's wedding dress. The fashion queen said: 'These big mass companies have finally clocked the power of creativity. You wouldn't have seen that ten, 15, even 20 years ago.' Anna has two children — Charles, a psychiatrist born in 1985, and TV producer Katherine, known as Bee, who she had in 1987. Their father is child psychiatrist David Shaffer, who Anna was married to from 1984 to 2020. She is reportedly romantically linked to actor Bill Nighy, though they describe themselves as close friends. Still, in Wintour's world, loyalty can be as fleeting as fashion trends. 6 6 Her decades-long friendship with the late Andre Leon Talley — once her trusted right-hand at Vogue — ended bitterly after he was pushed aside. In his 2020 memoir The Chiffon Trenches, Talley claimed she preferred to surround herself with 'thin, rich, and young' people. Ouch. Top designers haven't escaped her icy glare either. After various scandals, names such as John Galliano and Dolce & Gabbana were swiftly frozen out of Vogue's world — proving that even fashion royalty are not safe from her. Yet despite the many ups and downs, one thing is certainly true. Anna Wintour is a force, a legend and one hell of a woman whose influence stretches far beyond the pages of Vogue. She will now focus on her roles as Global Editorial Director and Chief Content Officer at the magazine's publisher Condé Nast. Whoever is picked to take over her old job better be able to fill her Manolo Blahnik pumps.
