Experts at The Handy have warned against taking adult toys to a number of destinations
Travel experts are cautioning holidaymakers about the perils of bringing adult toys to certain destinations, warning that such actions could result in hefty penalties or even jail time. Experts at The Handy have compiled a list of places where such items could get tourists into trouble, including specific areas of the United States and tourist hotspots like Thailand.
Speaking on the matter, JP Wilhelmsen, Founder and CEO at the company behind The Handy, advised: "When away from home, whether for work or pleasure, your toy can feel like an essential item to pack, with many relying on them for relaxation, stress relief, and self-care. However, it's important to be mindful of where you're travelling."

He went on to add: "Sex toys are considered illegal or heavily restricted in some countries, and packing one without checking the local laws could lead to embarrassment, confiscation, and even fines. Always research your destination ahead of time, and if you're unsure, leave them at home in your bedside drawer."
United Arab Emirates (UAE)
The UAE is known for its luxurious experiences, but travellers should leave their adult toys at home. Under Article 356 of the Penal Code, the possession, import, or sale of sex toys is strictly prohibited.
Customs officers regularly confiscate such items, and in more serious cases, travellers may face fines of up to 5,000 dirhams (£1,064) or even prosecution.
Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia enforces one of the strictest stances globally when it comes to adult toys. All forms of pornography, including sex-related devices, are banned. Customs guidelines prohibit "obscene" items, and violations can result in confiscation.
Travellers should be extremely cautious and avoid packing anything that could be misinterpreted.
Malaysia
Under Section 292 of Malaysia's Penal Code, the possession, distribution, or sale of items deemed "obscene", including adult toys, is a criminal offence. Those who risk it could face up to three years in jail, a fine, or both.

While enforcement may vary, there's a significant risk for travellers who arrive with personal pleasure products.
India
India's laws on adult toys fall into a legal grey zone. While there's no outright ban, the sale and import of adult toys can be prosecuted under obscenity laws, particularly Section 292 of the Indian Penal Code. Customs officials have been known to confiscate products, and businesses selling adult products often operate discreetly.
Therefore, travellers are advised to leave their toys at home before travelling.

Thailand
Thailand may be famous for its nightlife, but sex toys are illegal. Their sale, import, and possession are banned under obscenity laws, and violators risk having their items confiscated or facing fines of up to £1,400.
Tourists may assume the country's party scene extends to all aspects of sexual freedom, but local laws take a much more conservative stance when it comes to toys.
Maldives
While the Maldives markets itself as a honeymoon hotspot, visitors should be aware that bringing personal pleasure products could cause serious trouble. The import and possession of adult toys are strictly prohibited under the country's regulations on 'obscene materials'.
Sex toys are routinely confiscated by customs, so it's best to leave the toys at home.
USA
While the USA may seem sexually liberated, not every state is. Alabama remains infamous for its long-standing restriction on the sale of sex toys under the Anti-Obscenity Enforcement Act. The law has faced multiple legal challenges, but it technically still stands to this day.
Mississippi and Georgia have also had past attempts to regulate or restrict adult toys under obscenity rules, so travellers may want to be cautious if travelling to these Southern states.

Jury begins deliberations in Weinstein's New York rape retrial

Pool Photo by Justin Lane/UPI | License Photo June 4 (UPI) -- A jury is deciding whether former movie mogul Harvey Weinstein likely will spend the rest of his life in prison after beginning deliberations in his rape retrial on Wednesday. The New York jury of seven women and five men heard closing arguments on Tuesday and Wednesday as the six-week trial concluded in a lower Manhattan courtroom. Weinstein, 73, is charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual act and one count of third-degree rape. Prosecutors argued Weinstein used his position in the film industry as co-founder and studio boss at Miramax to control three women who accused him of criminal sexual conduct at different times from 2006 to 2013. Weinstein's attorneys argued the acts were consensual. Prosecutors had 24 witnesses testify against Weinstein, who has pleaded not guilty to all charges and did not take the stand. He was tried and convicted of rape and criminal sexual assault by a New York jury and sentenced to 23 years in prison five years ago. An appellate court last year ruled 4-3 in favor of Weinstein, whose attorneys argued the judge in his prior trial allowed "irrelevant" and "prejudicial" testimony and evidence that was unrelated to the alleged crimes. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg immediately announced his office would retry the case after the appellate court overturned the prior conviction. Even if found innocent, Weinstein still would stay imprisoned due to a conviction on similar charges in California. Weinstein has appealed that ruling. He is being held at Rikers Island until a verdict is entered in his retrial.

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Mariah May made her impactful and long-awaited WWE debut on the June 3, 2025, episode of NXT. By doing so, she immediately inserted herself into the NXT Women's Championship picture. This surprise appearance came just days after her contract with All Elite Wrestling expired, where she was a former AEW Women's World Champion. The segment saw new NXT Women's Champion Jacy Jayne attempting to celebrate her title win over Stephanie Vaquer from the previous week. Her address was interrupted by a series of NXT women, including Thea Hail, Lola Vice, Lash Legend, Jaida Parker, Kelani Jordan, and Jordynne Grace, all staking a claim for a title shot, leading to a brawl. As chaos broke out, the lights dimmed, and a spotlight hit the crow's nest, revealing May. While WWE announcers did not mention her by name, May took the microphone with a clear message. "It's about damn time. I've wrestled all over the world, and it's only right that The Glamour arrives in NXT," May declared in a digital exclusive later posted on WWE NXT's X account. 8/25/24 AEW ALL IN - London, England 8/25/24 AEW ALL IN - London, England Lee South/AEW Despite her established "Mariah May" name, which is believed to be her real name, TC WrestleVotes reports that WWE will be getting a new name under the Stamford-based promotion once it's decided what it will be. This strategy often relates to WWE securing intellectual property rights for its characters. May, originally from the United Kingdom, was encouraged by WWE coaches to gain global experience after an NXT UK tryout in 2018. She made a significant name for herself in Japan with STARDOM, where she captured the Goddesses of Stardom Championship with Mina Shirakawa. She then joined AEW in late 2023, initially as Toni Storm's protégé, before winning the 2024 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament and defeating Storm for the AEW Women's World Championship at All In 2024. This is a title Storm later regained at Revolution 2025. Her arrival adds another major talent to NXT's stacked women's division, which also includes champion Jacy Jayne.
