Girl, 6, dies after being hit by Range Rover
A six-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said a Range Rover was travelling west on Ashfield Road on Monday evening when it hit the child, who was on the carriageway.
Emergency services attended; however, the girl died from her injuries.
The driver remained at the scene, and no arrests have been made.
An investigation by GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is ongoing.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward with information.
Detective Constable Thomas Johnson, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, passed on his condolences to the girl's family.
'The thoughts of everyone from our investigating team are with them and we are continuing to support them where we can,' he said.
'As our work progresses, we are asking for anyone with any information to please come forward.
'You may have witnessed last night's incident, or have relevant CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage.
'If you can send this to our officers, this would be greatly appreciated as we put together a complete picture of last night's incident.'
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or via gmp.police.uk, quoting log 2683 of 28/04/25.

Murder inquiry launched as teenager dies in New Moston

Pensioners taken to hospital after serious crash in Co Tyrone
Police are appealing for information and witnesses following the single-vehicle collision in the Clogher area on Saturday afternoon. Inspector Morton said: 'We received a report at approximately 4.20pm on Saturday, June 7 of a collision involving a silver Range Rover in the Ballymagowan Road area. 'Officers attended, alongside colleagues from other emergency services and medical assistance was provided at the scene. 'The driver of the vehicle, a man aged in his 80s, and accompanying passenger, a man aged in his 90s, were both transported to hospital for treatment to their injuries. 'The road was closed for a time to facilitate emergency services, but has now fully reopened to road users. 'Our investigation is underway to determine what happened, and we are especially keen to hear from anyone who has footage of the vehicle in the area prior to, or at the time of the collision. Two schoolgirls, 13 and 14, missing after vanishing from leisure centre while wearing school uniform three days ago
AN urgent search has been launched for two schoolgirls who disappeared from a leisure centre in Manchester. Sofia, 13, and Carla, 14, both wearing their uniforms, were last seen at Abraham Moss library and leisure centre in Crumpsall at 4.45pm on Thursday (June 5). 2 2 Cops today have issued an appeal for information to help trace the pair. The girls are known to visit Piccadilly Gardens and The Printworks in the city centre. Sofia, aged 13, is described as white, slim, with long dark hair, and is possibly wearing glasses. At the time she went missing, Sofia was thought to be wearing her St Monica's High school PE polo top, black shorts, and black shoes, according to GMP. Carla, 14, is black, around 5ft 4in tall, with long hair in braids. She was last seen wearing her St Monica's School green blazer, black puffer coat and black school shoes. Greater Manchester Police said: "Sofia and Carla are thought to be together and are known to frequent Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester and around the Printworks area. "Officers are becoming increasingly concerned about the welfare of Sofia and Carla and want to ensure sure they are safe and well."
