Kelly would be the perfect trade candidate for the Mets to go after. He's having an excellent season while sitting on an affordable expiring contract.
New York could acquire him for limited prospect capital and let him walk in free agency at the end of the season.
There aren't many reliable one-year options on the trade market this season, so the Mets will need to jump on the opportunity in the coming weeks.

Prospects Jonah Tong, Carson Benge representing Mets in Futures Game
