Railway Protection Force
(RPF), Nagpur Division, rescued a man who had climbed onto the engine of
Train No. 12622
. The incident occurred on 30 April when a video alert reached the Divisional Security Commissioner, prompting immediate response. RPF personnel, in coordination with Overhead Equipment (OHE) staff, halted the train at Bharatwada at 12.43pm. The man was safely brought down and temporarily accommodated in the Divyangjan coach with assistance from alert passengers.
The train resumed its journey at 12.53pm. Onboard inquiry revealed he had boarded the train from Ahmedabad enroute to Orai. A PAN card and mobile number helped identify him and trace his family, who confirmed he had been missing and was under
mental health treatment
.
His family arrived at the RPF Post, Nagpur on 1 May at 8.45am with a valid ID. After due verification and execution of a formal surrender panchnama in the presence of witnesses, the man was reunited with his loved ones. The family expressed deep gratitude for the RPF's timely and compassionate action.

Puri: With Rath Yatra less than a month away, the railways has ramped up security measures across the region. The GRP and RPF have launched a joint special drive to curb criminal activities, resulting in the arrest of six persons and seizure of 35 mobile phones over the past two days. On Sunday morning, GRP and RPF personnel foiled a robbery attempt with the arrest of four persons. The accused have been identified as Dillip Jena (35), Babul Barik (35), Sanjay Sethi (22), Manoj Behera (20) from different districts. Officials recovered 20 mobile phones, two knives, four packets of chilli powder, four masks, four train tickets, cigarettes and 40 bottles of liquor from them. According to GRP IIC Santosh Kumar Bahinipati, the gang was planning to target passengers aboard in the weekly Puri–Valsad Express. Puri RPF inspector Hari Darshan Sharma said the day before the major arrests, two other suspects were apprehended and five mobile phones seized. "In the past 15 days, we've recovered 35 mobile phones through combined operations," he said. The railways is enhancing surveillance from Puri to Khurda Road stations. Additional CCTV cameras are being installed, monitored closely, and drones are being deployed to strengthen security. "Between 600 to 700 additional security personnel will be deployed during Rath Yatra," Sharma added.

Stone pelted at Vande Bharat LUCKNOW: A stone was allegedly thrown at the Gorakhpur-Prayagraj Vande Bharat Express by an unidentified person on Sunday afternoon. The incident left several passengers, including minors, traumatised. The on-board RPF ( Railway Protection Force ) squad was informed immediately. The stone was thrown near Atrampur railway station in Prayagraj district. The stone broke the double-layered windowpane of coach C1, near seat numbers 25, 26, and 27, where a woman was travelling with her two young children. 'Fortunately, none of the passengers was injured, but the children sitting next to the damaged windowpane were left traumatised. As soon as the train reached Prayag Junction, additional RPF personnel reached out to the family. An FIR has been lodged under the Railway Act Section 153 (endangering the safety of railway passengers) by RPF Prayag Junction,' said a railway official.

Shamli Kotwali police, RPF and GRP Shamli are investigating the incident that took place when 64021 Delhi-Shamli MEMU was approaching Shamli railway station, passing through the block section near km 85-15/16 at 10.16 pm. "Alert loco-pilots applied emergency brakes just in time to avoid collision," said an official based at Delhi Division Northern Railway. Earlier, Delhi-Saharanpur 64021 MEMU passed through the same section at 9.10 pm without noting any suspicious objects on the track.
