The incident is believed to have resulted in numerous fatalities. 'As it hit the building, there was a loud blast. Both the plane and the building caught fire,' he added. 'The plane hit the dining hall of the hostel. Many people were inside. Some were badly hurt and taken to hospital,' said another eyewitness. Rescue efforts are still going on, said Ahmedabad police commissioner G S Malik. Authorities are trying to find more survivors in the rubble. The Army, Border Security Force, local police, and State Reserve Police Force are all involved in the rescue work. Several cars and other vehicles parked on the hospital campus were also destroyed in the fire.
