Youngest victim injured in Liverpool parade horror revealed as nine-year-old
Over 70 people were injured after a car drove towards dozens of Liverpool supporters in the city during the Premier League trophy parade on Monday evening
Police are continuing their investigations into the horror crash that left 79 people injured

A nice-year-old was among those injured when a car was driven into crowds at Liverpool FC's victory parade on Monday (May 26), police have confirmed. Officers from Merseyside Police are continuing to question a suspect in connection with the incident.
A 53-year-old man, from West Derby, Liverpool, remains in custody on suspicion of attempted murder, dangerous driving and drug driving after 79 people, including four children, were injured in the collision on Water Street shortly after 6pm.
On Thursday, police confirmed the age of the victims ranged from nine to 78 and said they were all understood to be British. On Wednesday, the force said seven people remained in hospital in a stable condition.
Police also declined to comment on what drug the a arrested man was suspected of taking before the collision. They said: "We wouldn't go into this detail at this stage of the investigation."
Police believe the car which struck pedestrians was able to follow an ambulance crew attending to someone suffering a heart attack after a road block was temporarily lifted.
A force spokesman said there was a partial closure in place on Dale Street - which leads into Water Street - between North John Street and Exchange Street. Traffic was filtered down Exchange Street to stop vehicles getting onto Water Street and a flatbed truck and traffic cones were used as a barrier.
Water Street leads onto The Strand, where hundreds of thousands of fans gathered to see the Liverpool team bus pass during the celebrations over their 20th Premier League victory.
A Welsh dad who was celebrating Liverpool FC's Premier League title win in the city described the moment a car which would go on to plough into supporters "came out of nowhere" and was driving on streets that were meant to be closed.
Chris Lewis, from Mountain Ash said: "We thought 'This road should be closed - what is this car doing here?' It was pretty strange and it just kept moving.
"All of the sudden I had to shout to my son to move from the road because it was just carrying on driving. He wouldn't stop and so my son jumped out of the way.

A fundraising campaign set up for those affected has raised more than £30,000, including a £10,000 donation from the Jamie Carragher 23 Foundation, the former Liverpool player's charity.
The Liverpool Spirit Appeal was set up by the Community Foundation for Merseyside, in partnership with Liverpool City Council, and Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services (LCVS), and money raised will be distributed to those experiencing physical or psychological injuries as a result of the incident, as well as to community organisations.

Alex was born in London but studied at Gordonstoun near Elgin, Scotland for several years, before meeting his killer at Regent's University London, then known as Regent's College. His mum had moved to Switzerland, and when he went to visit her in December 2014, he was invited by Von Vertes to his family's empty villa after a night out, reports the Daily Record. There, Alex suffered more than 50 injuries in the brutal and prolonged attack, and was pronounced dead the following morning. During his trial, Von Vertes claimed Alex was the aggressor - but he did not show any defensive injuries, suffering only one cut to his finger. He was found guilty of intentional homicide but the case was sent back to court in 2019 for appeal, where Von Vertes claimed he was so high on drugs he believed Alex was a green alien. The killer was temporarily transferred to an enclosed rehab facility, but after another appeal by Katja, he was again found guilty of intentional homicide. The Supreme Court denied Von Vertes's final appeal in 2023. He was also found guilty of raping a woman in a London hotel. But last year, Von Vertes was released on full parole - and Katja, who now lives on a farm in Spain and helps other families suffering grief, was recently sent images of Von Vertes on dating apps from two women. She was also contacted by a third woman. One image shows Von Vertes with an AirPod in his ear and the other is of him standing in front of a set of mailboxes. It came after one woman said unwittingly went on a date with Von Vertes while he was on day release from prison, describing him as "verbally abusive" and claiming he had boasted about serving time in prison for killing someone. She said he had used the pseudonym Benjamin Schwarz when she met him on the app.

Russia directly attacked Kyiv with 315 drones and missiles and demolished large parts of the southern port of Odesa overnight. The devastating aerial attacks sparked intense recovery operations as emergency services battled against fires in residential neighbourhoods. Air raid alerts in Kyiv lasted for around five hours as they first alerted residents at around 5am, according to military data. Russia sent out a 315 drone blitz in the attack, including 250 Shaheds, and seven missiles, according to Volodymyr Zelensky. A harrowing image of the capital's skyline shows how it had been engulfed by a cloud of orange from the numerous blasts. As the sun rose in the morning residents complained they 'could not see the dawn' due to the thick black smoke still lingering in the air. Timur Tkachenko, the head of Kyiv's military district, said on Telegram: "A difficult night for all of us. "Throughout the night, the enemy relentlessly terrorised Kyiv with attack drones. "They targeted civilian infrastructure and peaceful residents of the city." Russia claimed they had only targeted the Ukrainian Artem plant which is where Kyiv produces air-to-air missiles, air-guided weapons, and anti-tank guided missiles. Zelensky also said large swaths of Odesa, Dnipro region, and Chernihiv were all hit overnight. The heroic leader said the night from hell marked one of the "largest attacks" in the gruelling war to date. In Odesa, a maternity hospital and residential buildings were all completely destroyed. Two were killed at the hands of Putin across the city. Speaking on X, Zelensky said: "In Odesa, even a maternity hospital became a Russian target. "Thirteen people were injured. Tragically, there are fatalities. My condolences to the families. "It is vital that the response to this and other similar Russian attacks is not silence from the world, but concrete action." Ukraine now reportedly faces over 500 drone strikes every night, as Russia appears to have stepped up assaults following operation Spiderweb. Earlier this week, Russian drones and missiles were launched at Kyiv again as Russian Tu-22M3 strategic bombers were reportedly unleashed to rain hell on the infamous Snake Island in the Black Sea. Moscow launched a massive strike on Rivne using its Tu-22M3 and Tu-95MS strategic bombers to hit Dubny airbase. Another key Ukrainian military airport - Hostomel - was also attacked as Putin sought revenge for the humiliating attack. Polish armed forces command said Nato fighter jets were patrolling due to 'intensive air attack by the Russian Federation on Ukrainian territory'. Just days ago, Kharkiv was rocked overnight as 48 kamikaze drones, along with missiles and guided bombs, slammed into residential areas, according to the city's mayor. 'We have a lot of damage,' Ihor Terekhov said. More than 50 explosions rocked Kharkiv, with the mayor adding it was 'the most powerful attack' on the city of the 39-month war.
