Inside the ‘revolutionary' show replacing The Project
Television journalist Denham Hitchcock believes the daily news and deeper investigations of prime-time news show10 NEWS+ will cut through and reach wider audiences than other programs, like the recently-cancelled The Project. The Project aired its last episode on Friday and will be replaced by 10 NEWS+ from Monday, which will be the first commercial free-to air news program to also be available as a video podcast via global streaming service Spotify. 'That's the great unknown,' Hitchcock told Stellar in a new interview. 'The journos, the network [are] fully behind it. No-one is half-hearted about this show. And the platforms it will be on is also revolutionary in a way.' The 48-year-old will co-anchor the show with his former Seven Network colleague Amelia Brace. Both Hitchcock and Brace were poached from Seven by Network 10. The father of two is looking forward to being 'let out of the gate' on stories and revealed he had one up his sleeve for months. 'It's an absolute blockbuster,' he teased. 'It's a story 60 Minutes, Four Corners and Spotlight would kill for.' While he is excited to get started, his dad Kevin, a former Network 10 news anchor himself, is possibly more excited. '[Though] God forbid I get any of my grammar wrong,' Hitchcock said. ''Cause he's the first one on the phone.' Growing up watching his father work on news investigations like the Lindy Chamberlain trial, Hitchcock was destined to follow in his footsteps. 'Dad would sometimes get me to write news stories and he would sub them at the dinner table for fun,' he told Stellar. 'One day he got extremely upset because I finished a story with 'time will tell'. He hates the cliché. I always knew I wanted to be a journalist, even at a very young age.' Starting off his career straight out of high school in 1995, Hitchcock answered phones and filled the biscuit barrel for Today Tonight on Seven. His work as a reporter took him all over the world, and he went on to work as a foreign correspondent at the Nine Network before returning to Seven to launch current affairs program Spotlight. 'To truly try and make a difference and enrich the lives of the people you come across is what I'm most proud of,' Hitchcock said of his 30 years on the road. 'I've managed to do that in a lot of cases, and that gives me the most amount of hope. There's still beauty amongst the rubble and devastation. You just have to look for it.'

All of the changes coming to your loyalty programs as of June 30
Some of Australia's biggest brands are set to shake-up their loyalty programs in the new financial year. Changes will come as early as Monday morning with some brands dropping perks, and other merging their loyalty programs into larger ones. But one loyalty program will be gone forever. Qantas Frequent Flyer The flying kangaroo is set to partner with David Jones to allow shoppers to redeem Qantas points at the department store and David Jones customers to redeem their reward points at the airline. Customers will have to link their memberships through the David Jones mobile app. David Jones CEO Scott Fyfe said: 'Our customers are at the heart of the 187-year-old David Jones business, and we look forward to recognising and rewarding them with a new market leading premium loyalty experience. While Qantas Loyalty chief executive Andrew Glance said that half of Qantas Frequent Flyers already shop at David Jones regularly. 'The number of points members have earned through retailers has doubled in the last five years, and we anticipate it will double again by 2030, as we expand our footprint across a growing range of retail categories,' Mr Glance said. The program will launch later this year. Virgin Australia Velocity Frequent Flyer Virgin have introduced changes to 'Status' levels within their Velocity program. The changes are designed to simplify the process of attaining a silver, gold or platinum membership, by ensuring that 50 per cent of the credits earned towards the program are on Virgin Australia flights flown by the customer. These changes will come into effect from October 1. Just Shop Rewards The loyalty program for brands including Just Jeans is closing up shop and merging with Myer, following the retail giant's acquisition of the Just Group. From 1 August customers at the Just Group's retailers will earn Myer one credits. Retailers under the former Just Group brand include Dotti, Jacqui E, Jay Jays, Just Jeans and Portmans. Any points that customers have earned through the Just Shop Rewards program will be valid up until July 26, after which they will be forfeited. Supercheap Auto Club The auto company's 'Best Price Credit' perk will be retired as of June 30. The system was popular as it meant that if a product went on sale within 14 days of purchase the difference would be refunded to customers in store credit. Instead a new 'Spend & Get' system is being introduced, giving a $5 credit to customers for every $100 spent. From July 21, Target Shop+ will be discontinued altogether. Target said that the company has made a 'business decision' to move away from the app-based loyalty program. Any rewards earned can be redeemed even after the program discontinuation, as per any validity period on the reward.

Nikita Tszyu announces the birth of his first baby, a daughter named Curiosity
Nikita Tszyu welcomed the birth of his first child late last week, a daughter named Curiosity. Tszyu and his wife, also named Nikita, confirmed the heart-warming news on Saturday night via social media. 'Curiosity Tszyu,' the boxer wrote on Instagram. 'Named after the NASA Mars Rover, Curiosity. 'Curiosity is the passion that drives us through our everyday lives. 'It is this powerful force of curiosity which has led humans to become explorers, scientists, historians & artists. 'Curiosity is the everlasting flame burning in all of us that compels us to ask questions, to wonder, to learn, to grow and to know. 'As parents, we hope our daughter's name will give her the courage and strength to explore life without fear. 'May her own curious mind be the guiding compass leading the way as she grows to understand herself and the world around her. 'As Curiosity's parents, we vow to nurture her spirit of adventure and use the principles of the Japanese BushidÅ 'The Way of The Warrior' as a guide to raising her.' While older brother Tim prepares for his world title rematch against Sebastian Fundora on July 19, the intensely private Nikita kept the impending birth of his daughter a closely guarded secret. The couple were married in a surprise, low key ceremony in January, with the Nikita later revealing to CODE Sports that he made their wedding rings himself. 'I melted the silver and made it in my garage – I forged it myself,' he said. 'I did my ring and her ring. I had to do about 10 different rings because I had to shape it and everything. 'I learned the art form, or how to do it in a weekend and I got the rings created in two more days. 'I'm a smelter now.' Tszyu hasn't fought since his fight of the year win over Koen Mazoudier last August, with a hand injury keeping him sidelined at the start of the year. The 27-year-old is been slated to step back in the ring in August, with a potential showdown opposite Michael Zerafa later in the year, although nothing has been confirmed.
