The 'Israeli' military said Sunday that it had located and identified the body of Mohammed Sinwar, presumed leader of Hamas in Gaza, three weeks after he was said to have been killed in an air strike.
"In a targeted operation of the IDF (military)... and following the completion of an identification process, it is now confirmed that the body of Mohammed Sinwar was located in the underground tunnel route beneath the European Hospital in Khan Yunis," the army said in a statement, adding that Sinwar was killed on May 13.

'Israeli' drone strike injures 28 near Gaza aid distribution point

Al-Awda Hospital in Gaza announced Monday that it had received 28 injured individuals following an 'Israeli' drone strike that targeted the area near a humanitarian aid distribution point by the Nuseirat checkpoint in central Gaza. The hospital reported that the injuries ranged from moderate to critical, resulting from the bombing of a densely populated area where civilians had gathered to receive aid. The attack sparked widespread outrage due to its targeting of a site designated for humanitarian relief, further deepening the already dire humanitarian crisis in the besieged Gaza Strip.

In a post on X, the Israeli Foreign Ministry wrote: "All the passengers of the 'selfie yacht' are safe and unharmed. They were provided with sandwiches and water. The show is over." Furthermore, Defense Minister Israel Katz had also instructed the army to show activists on board the ship to see footage from Hamas's October 7 attacks. "It is appropriate that antisemitic Greta and her fellow 'Hamas supporters' see exactly who this 'terrorist organization' they came to support and whom they are working for is, what atrocities they committed against women, the elderly, and children, and against whom Israel is fighting to defend itself," he said. © 2000 - 2025 Al Bawaba (

Madleen continues voyage towards Gaza despite 'Israeli' threats, says ICBSG chief

Defying threats from 'Israeli' authorities, the humanitarian aid flotilla Madleen is continuing its journey toward the Gaza Strip, carrying a symbolic one-ton shipment of aid in an effort to break the ongoing blockade on the besieged Strip. Zaher Birawi, head of the International Committee to Break the Siege on Gaza (ICBSG), told Roya that the freedom activists aboard the Madleen, hailing from seven different countries, remain in high spirits and are determined to deliver a message of solidarity and protest against 'Israel's' continued aggression on Gaza. Birawi said that the Madleen is not carrying any weapons, only humanitarian support and a message of hope. He described the 'Israeli' threats against the vessel as a blatant violation of international law, especially since six of the activists on board are French citizens. He added that the committee has issued warnings against any attack or interference with the ship or its passengers, and has successfully launched a global petition in solidarity with the mission, which collected over 1.15 million signatures in just two days. 'This ship is not just transporting aid, it is a cry for justice and a call to the world to act against the Israeli aggression and the unjust blockade imposed on over two million people in Gaza,' Birawi told Roya. He noted that 'Israel' is increasingly sensitive to its global image, which has been further tarnished by its ongoing military actions. Any move against the Madleen, he warned, could negatively impact Tel Aviv's relations with several countries. Birawi suggested that 'Israel' might opt to intercept the ship and redirect it to the port of Ashdod, followed by the deportation of the activists to their respective countries; rather than engaging in direct military escalation.
