According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the upcoming iOS 19 update will likely include a battery charging indicator on the lock screen. This feature will provide users with the exact time estimate of how long it will take to charge the iPhone. Gurman said, 'There…will be a lock-screen indicator showing how long it will take to charge up.' This feature has already been available on Android devices for quite some time now, and Apple will finally bring this feature to iPhone users.

While this may not sound like a major addition, it can be very useful to iPhone users as it can help users avoid overcharging, bring effective time management, foster optimal charging habits as many do not prefer to reach 100%, and much more. Therefore, the battery charging indicator could be a value addition to iOS 19 and iPhone users. It is speculated that the battery charging indicator could be a part of Live Activity, but it can also come as a new lock screen widget or simply a UI feature.
As we get closer to the WWDC, tipsters have started finding strings of new features and updates which are expected for iOS 19. Just a few days earlier, iOS 19 was tipped to come with a 'Transfer to Android' feature, which will likely allow seamless eSIM transfer from iPhone to Android. Additionally, Apple may also announce the awaited Siri upgrades, new Apple Intelligence features, and much more.

Indian Growth Story Fuelled by IT: Ashish Chauhan, MD and CEO, National Stock Exchange in a Podcast with Kailash Adhikari, MD, Sri Adhikari Brothers
NewsVoir Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 30: NSE (National Stock exchange) managing director and CEO, Ashish Kumar Chauhan has said that India is the IT capital of the world and its growth story is fuelled by technology. "With two crore to three crore IT jobs in India which no one in the world has the capability and expertise for these jobs, today India is the world's IT capacity centre. 2000- 3000 global IT companies have their IT base in India." Chauhan was in a Governance Now podcast with Kailash Adhikari, Managing Director, Sri Adhikari Brothers. In 1994, he said, during the IT (information technology) programming boom NSE set up India's first digital public infrastructure enabling trading through satellite. This brought huge confidence among the Indian public and engineers. Later, during Y2K (Year 2000) many small companies would get their engineers to NSE to showcase India's capabilities and they also bagged big contracts. That was the time of IT dawn when India took a huge leap forward, he added. "Today technology is our fuel and India is the IT capital of the world. Technology has brought biggest shift and change in the world." Watch the full conversation in our latest episode: Today, there are two crore to three crore IT jobs in India and no one in the world has the capability and expertise to do these jobs. India is the world's IT capacity centre with 2000- 3000 global IT companies having their base here. Indian technology companies like TCS today has over 7 lakh employees while Infosys has more than 5 lakh employees, he said. Chauhan iterated that when it comes to technology, it has played a huge role in India's growth story. Today, India is the world leader in Technology. "When it comes to Technology India is the world leader. Technology has played a huge role in India's growth story. A society that adopts IT will progress." While speaking on India's service economy Chauhan said India is a powerhouse of service sector with a well established services sector ecosystem. He said the service sector does not require any inputs unlike the manufacturing sector which is dependent on raw material. Further speaking on India's resilient economy Chauhan explained that India's total exports today stand at $700 - $800 billion with almost the same amount it imports. This he said, includes net services of $200 -$250 billion and $125-$150 billion of remittances. "So our balance of payments is in surplus since last 4-5 years. This is the reason for our strength and abilities as we are frugal and produce high quality work in cost effective manner." "Now with iPhones going to be manufactured in India, servers and electronic chips too will be made in India. Be it Microsoft or Google, they get their AI work done from our people. 80% of Microsoft windows parts are manufactured in India. We have the best and most capable engineers and manpower and we deliver the best practises at affordable rates. Today we have good roads and logistics," he said adding that as many as 1000- 200000 technology experts from 3000 big global companies today are working in India. He further added that as compared to earlier, today the waves of technology are occurring at faster speed and will generate much more wealth in the world in the next 50 years. He termed the coming era of technology as 'Capitalism without Capital' and said technology does not require heavy infusion of capital like manufacturing. Responding to a question on NSE launching SME Exchange and its role in future Chauhan, who is the former MD and CEO of Bombay Stock Exchange said, in 1994, India did not have more than 10 lakh investors, today we have 11 crore investors from Ladakh to Andamans and Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh to Dibrugarh to Jorhat to Dwarka. Out of 19400 Pin Codes in India, only 28 Pin Codes do not have investors. India's entrepreneurs are the trust and strength of NSE 25% investors are women and every 1 out of 5 households today (11 Cr people) are investing in NSE. He further said that said that any businessman, entrepreneur or industrialist who wants to grow can come to NSE and find their partners in big or small companies. He added that 600 companies that have raised capital in the last 10 years have now entered the main board. 'These companies have earned the trust of investors. Indian's are very hardworking and the world is taking note of that' he said. Chauhan noted that Markets bring transparency in the system and act as disinfectant. "The stock market capital of Rs 3. 80 lakh Cr in 1994, today stands at Rs 4.40 lakh Cr. This never happens in a low per capita income country and here India is an outlier. This is created by the trust that investors have in the transparency of the markets.'' "NSE acts as a catalyst for Indian economy. NSE receives more than Rs 2000Cr worth orders daily within 6 hours. Within 100 microseconds we respond and shares traded are reflected in investors accounts the very next day" said Chauhan, who is also known as the father of modern financial derivatives in India.

Google makes case for keeping Chrome browser
WASHINGTON: Google on Friday urged a US judge to reject the notion of making it spin off its Chrome browser to weaken its dominance in online search. Rival attorneys made their final arguments before US District Court Judge Amit Mehta, who is considering "remedies" to impose after making a landmark decision last year that Google maintained an illegal monopoly in search. US government attorneys have called on Mehta to order Google divest itself of Chrome browser, contending that artificial intelligence is poised to ramp up the tech giant's dominance as the go-to window into the internet. They also want Google barred from agreements with partners such as Apple and Samsung to distribute its search tools, which was the focus of the suit against the Silicon Valley internet giant. Three weeks of testimony ended early in May, with Friday devoted to rival sides arguing points of law and making their arguments before Mehta in a courtroom in Washington. John Schmidtlein, an attorney for Google, told Mehta that there was no evidence presented showing people would have opted for a different search engine if no exclusivity deals had been in place. Schmidtlein noted that Verizon installed Chrome on smartphones even though the US telecom titan owned Yahoo! search engine and was not bound by a contract with Google. Of the 100 or so witnesses heard at trial, not one said "if I had more flexibility, I would have installed Bing" internet search browser from Microsoft, the Google attorney told the judge. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Department of Justice attorney David Dahlquist countered that Apple, which was paid billions of dollars to make Chrome the default browser on iPhones, "repeatedly asked for more flexibility" but was denied by Google. G oogle contends that the United States has gone way beyond the scope of the suit by recommending a spinoff of Chrome, and holding open the option to force a sale of its Android mobile operating system. The potential of Chrome being hobbled or spun off comes as rivals such as Microsoft, ChatGPT and Perplexity put generative artificial intelligence to work fetching information from the internet in response to user queries. The online search antitrust suit was filed against Google some five years ago, before ChatGPT made its debut, triggering AI fervor. Google is among the tech companies investing heavily to be among the leader in AI, and is weaving the technology into search and other online offerings.

Apple could be planning to release these new Macs later this year: Here's what we expect
Apple's WWDC 2025 event is scheduled for June 9, and excitement is building, but not just for the expected major software redesigns, but also due to speculation around new Mac launches. Over the past few years, Apple has followed a mostly consistent Mac release cycle, typically unveiling MacBook Air models early in the year and MacBook Pro models towards the end. That said, fresh Mac models seem likely on the way later this year. Here's what we know so far. Apple launched the MacBook Pro Series, powered by the new M4 series of chipsets, back in October 2024. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has voiced that the new M5-powered MacBook Pro models could also launch during the autumn, so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary to expect the new MacBooks to launch in October this autumn. The M5 chipset will be the fifth-generation Apple chipset, following the M1, M2, M3, and last year's M4 series. They both suggest that it could still continue to feature TSMC's 3nm technology, instead of the 2nm technology that was rumoured earlier. Apple has had the 24-inch iMac in the lineup for a long time, which was upgraded to the M4 chipset. However, there is certainly a need for a bigger iMac. Regarding this, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has previously predicted that a higher-end 32-inch mini-LED powered iMac could launch in 2025. During the same prediction, he also said that there would be a new 24-inch iMac Refresh in 2024, which did happen in the form of the M4 chipset. So, if this prediction turns out to be true, we may finally get a 32-inch iMac this year, which will bridge the gap and allow for a much larger display. Some models are still uncertain, including the iMac Pro, which still has M2 family chipsets, and it is also not clear when we will see the next-generation MacBook Air get powered by the M5. If the launch timeline is any indicator, we just got the M4-powered MacBook Air models earlier this year, so it would be unlikely for Apple to release an M5-powered MacBook Air this year, and it does tie up with the current launch cycle that Apple is going for.
