Moment Chelsea FC star Marc Cucurella is caught 'using his phone behind the wheel' of his £140k Mercedes G-Wagon

This is the moment Chelsea's Marc Cucurella was apparently caught using his mobile phone while behind the wheel of his £140,000 Mercedes G-Wagon. The 26-year-old Spaniard was said to have been driving the wagon near Dorking in Surrey, when he was caught appearing to be sending a text message. The footage was taken by a British couple as they drove past the left-back at around 6pm on Tuesday, May 20. Eight days later Cucurella was in Chelsea's starting line-up in Wroclaw, Poland, as Enzo Maresca 's men beat Real Betis 4-1 in the Uefa Conference League final. The couple claimed they had noticed the car before realising the driver appeared to be using his phone on closer inspection. One said: 'We looked over to see who it was and I clocked that it was Chelsea's left back Marc Cucurella. 'We drove past him again and I doubled checked to make sure it was him... he was on his phone. 'My partner in the passenger seat was able to get a video and photos.' Cucurella has been a near permanent starter for Chelsea this season in the Premier League, after being part of the squad that beat England in the final of the Euros with Spain in July 2024. The passenger added: 'It was really dangerous and very irresponsible of him, first to be doing it at all.' Drivers caught using a mobile phone behind the wheel in the United Kingdom face being hit with a £200 fine and six points on their driving licence. Cucurella moved to west London from Brighton in a £60million deal in 2022. The Spain international struggled for consistency on the pitch, and later revealed that a number of circumstances away from the game also contributed to his dip in form, including the burglary of his family home. However, as Cucurella settled at Stamford Bridge, the defender became an increasingly vital presence in the set-ups of head coaches Mauricio Pochettino and Maresca. Cucurella also starred for Spain at last summer's European Championship, helping La Roja take him the trophy for the fourth time in the nation's history. He features alongside his wife Claudia Rodriguez in the second season of Amazon's Married To The Game. Cucurella and Rodriguez allowed cameras to follow their daily lives, with the impact of their son Mateo's autism on the family one of the emotional flashpoints of the programme. The reality series also sees Rodriguez open up on the impact of a burglary which the family suffered shortly after the move to the west London club. Cucurella and his family lost £62,000-worth of property in the break-in, including Louis Vuitton bags.

England win again after chase of 197 against West Indies

Brook has now won all five games since taking over from Jos Buttler and has the chance to match the 3-0 ODI whitewash in Southampton on Tuesday. England were put under real pressure when the tourists blazed 82 off the last five overs of their innings – Adil Rashid smashed for five sixes in the 19th – but did not blink in a rousing chase. IT20 series win secured! 🔒 Victory in Bristol 🙌 Banton and Carse see us home 👏 Match Centre: — England Cricket (@englandcricket) June 8, 2025 Jos Buttler's 47 set the platform but the game was settled by two of the team's less experienced hands, Jacob Bethell clubbing 26 off just 10 balls and Tom Banton an unbeaten 30 from 11. There were 25 sixes in the match as the Seat Unique Stadium lived up to its reputation as a big-hitter's playground, but it was England who held the day. England made one change to their winning team from Durham, Luke Wood replacing Matthew Potts, and the game was only a few seconds old when the switch paid off. Wood's first delivery was a big inswinging yorker that pounded Evin Lewis flush on the toe in front of the stumps. It was a reminder of the left-armer's new-ball prowess and the perfect reintroduction to the international stage. England kept the score to 82 for one in the first half of the innings, despite Liam Dawson struggling to replicate his player-of-the-match turn from Friday night. Having taken four for 20 on his comeback appearance, the spinner bumped back to earth with nought for 43. The hosts tightened their grip when Rashid had Hope stumped for 49 and Wood returned to bowl Johnson Charles via an ugly drag-on, but the Windies had aces up their sleeve. Dawson's final over was taken for 20, Rovman Powell helping himself to some big blows before holing out, and the decision to hold Rashid back for the penultimate over blew up in England's face. Jason Holder hit the first three balls all the way before a scampered single broke the streak. Romario Shepherd took up the challenge with two massive hits as Rashid went for 31 – the second costliest over by an Englishman. Responding to 196 for six, England marginally outscored their opponents in the powerplay, Ben Duckett and Buttler unfazed by Jamie Smith's early exit as they reached 58 for one. Duckett was undone for 30 by an athletic catch from Powell but when Buttler picked out Charles in the deep, a much simpler chance bobbled to the turf. Reprieved on 43, Buttler added just four more before gifting Charles his redemption with a top-edged reverse sweep. This time, the chance stuck. With the asking rate climbing, Brook took a chunk out of the target but picked out long-off on 34, trying and failing to strike his third six. With 77 needed off seven overs England had no choice but to keep their foot to the floor and Banton hoisted his first ball for six before helping himself to another off Gudakesh Motie. A six for Grandma? 🙏Bethell delivers 🫡 — England Cricket (@englandcricket) June 8, 2025 Bethell went even harder against Alzarri Joseph, taking three massive sixes from the 16th over. The biggest of the lot cleared the three-story block of flats that looks down on the ground. In just a few minutes England had gone from outsiders to strong favourites, a position only slightly undermined when Bethell threaded a reverse sweep to slip. Banton stayed in place to see his side over the finish line and Brydon Carse edged the winning boundary with nine balls remaining.

Snoop Dogg shares plan to open a burger van outside major British football club

Snoop Dogg said he would like to bring a pop-up burger to Celtic Park as he believes football fans would love it - and he even shared his perfect recipe for a good burger Snoop Dogg has revealed he hopes to open a burger van at Celtic Park – and said he would like to serve fans himself. The West Coast rapper has previously spoken of investing in the Glasgow football club, similar to Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds ' involvement with Wrexham FC. Snoop Dogg, 53, has already published a cookbook and claims to have spoken to chef Gordon Ramsay about a possible venture in Glasgow together – but he has now revealed he wants to set up a fast-food van at Celtic's stadium in the city's east end. ‌ He has described Celtic supporters as "special" and the best fans in European football, and said he identifies strongly with the club's mascot Hoopy the Hound – describing it in a previous interview as a "match made in heaven". The keen sports fan worked as a correspondent for NBC at the Paris Olympics last year, has launched two youth football leagues, and has been a vocal advocate for pay equality for female athletes. ‌ He told the Sunday Mail that Celtic fans would support the burger van and that it would become a foodie "Paradise" – the nickname give to Celtic Park. He said: "I would love to bring a pop-up burger (van) to a sports stadium to show fans that food at stadiums can be good. "It's got to be Celtic Park, man. The secret to a good burger is the love in the preparation. The ground beef has got to be mixed with some secret spices, then add a good quality cheese and some maple-cured bacon. "The Celtic fans are gonna love it, and to make sure they are just right, Snoop is going to be serving them himself." But he said he would not be taking his culinary ventures to Celtic's Old Firm rivals at Ibrox. Snoop told the Sunday Mail: "Am I going to bring my burgers to Rangers as well? Nah, I think we will give that a miss." The confession comes after the rapper offered to swoop in and heal the rift between estranged brothers Prince William and Prince Harry. ‌ Earlier this year, the rapper, whose links to theroyals go back years, as he was asked to perform at William's stag party, said he'd be more than happy to act as peacemaker between the estranged pair. "Harry and William, I have known for a long time now," he said. "Harry asked me to perform at William's bachelor party but I couldn't make it. Anything they want to perform at now, I am there. They are brothers, man. Anything that gets them in the same room and being brothers again will be worth it. Life is too short to not make things right, and if Snoop can help heal that relationship, then let's do it." The Drop It Like It's Hot star also opened up about his friendship with David Beckham, which dates back over 30 years, calling him his "brother" - and he said "Uncle Snoop" will always be there for his kids Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13, too."You know in this industry you get a lot of acquaintances, but real long-lasting friendship is a rare thing for real," he began. "We have been friends for over 25 years, he isn't a friend to me anymore he is a brother to me. From the first time we met we had a good connection, and our friendship just went from there. It kind of helps we both love sport, food, and music, but as the years went on our friendship became deeper."
