FORMER Manchester United star Marcos Rojo is a free agent after his Boca Juniors contract was terminated.
The defender now finds himself with a club just days after the Argentines were dumped out of the Club World Cup.

Rojo, 35, didn't play a single minute in the US as Boca failed to win a single group game.
After a 2-2 draw in their opener against Benfica, the Buenos Aires side lost 2-1 to Bayern before being held to an embarrassing 1-1 draw against semi-pro Auckland City.
Heads are sure to be rolling at Boca, winners of 35 league titles and six Copa Libertadores.
And one man who has paid an immediate price for their failure is Rojo.
The centre-back joined them from United in 2021 and went on to play 133 times.
But Rojo immediately fell out of Miguel Russo's plans when the gaffer took charge in May.
And despite still having six months remaining on his contract, ESPN claim Rojo has now been let go.
Indeed, it's reckoned the defender will not even return to Argentina with his side, who are midway through their season and sit joint-top of the table.
Rojo could now be eyeing a return to Europe, having also played for Spartak Moscow and Sporting Lisbon.
United paid the Portuguese side £16m to sign Rojo in 2014.
And the defender became a hit as won the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Europa League in his first three seasons.
However, a cruciate ligament injury in 2017 marked the beginning of the end of Rojo's Old Trafford career.
Having played 95 times in the first three years, the following three saw Rojo feature in just 27 games.
But he turned things around at Boca as he led them to title glory in 2022, playing 44 times that year before suffering another decline in form and fitness.

"It has been a long, long time since we had a performance like this on and off the ball. The players were committed and we are happy to beat a top side."This is just one game, but I think the players felt again what it was like to be a good team. The belief always comes from your performances, not your past." City 'shook the tournament' with performance For the first time in eight seasons, City finished last term without a major trophy and ended third in the Premier League after having won an unprecedented four titles in a on Thursday, with 76% possession, 24 shots to five and 738 passes to 219, City took apart the 36-time Serie A champions with a performance that will make the remaining teams sit up and take needed to win to come top and made no mistake, avoiding the half of the draw which contains Paris-St Germain and Bayern may come up against Real Madrid in the last 16 if Xabi Alonso's side are beaten by Salzburg later on."I think City have shook the tournament tonight," said the club's former goalkeeper Shay Given. "People will step up and think 'wow these [players] are the real deal again."I think they are going to bounce back and bounce back strong."Guardiola added: "We were so aggressive without the ball. Ederson made incredible long balls to Erling [Haaland]. The most important thing today is we can feel it again."The players felt we can compete in that way. Last season it couldn't happen for one reason: we didn't have players. Since day one we've made a step up in the rhythm and training is unbelievable."This is the only way to survive - win or lose. Years ago, nobody could imagine Man City at the Club World Cup. We are facing new teams and it is an honour. We want to stay here." 'One of the best in the world' - Rodri returns Juve will have taken a psychological knock even before kick-off, seeing the name of Ballon d'Or winner Rodri on the team sheet - it was the 29-year-old's first start since sustaining a serious knee injury against Arsenal nine months Spaniard managed 65 minutes and showed why he is so integral to this City team, displaying his assuredness in the middle of the park with a metronomic performance, completing a total of 67 the time he left the pitch, only defender Ruben Dias (84) had more touches on the ball than Rodri's 79, highlighting the importance of controlling the game."Everyone knows how important is Rodri," said Guardiola. This season we can have players fit and try to perform similar to today."Guardiola said a lengthy injury list derailed last season but against Juve he had an almost entirely fit squad to select from, barring the injured Claudio Doku, Savinho and Phil Foden were all on the scoresheet as City racked up 13 goals in their three group stage games."The forward play and the goals Man City score is fantastic," said Given. "When they won the title four times in a row we thought these guys were robots."Even Pep mentions 'we have got our mojo back'. We have got the Man City back, which we all thought was automatic."It shows us that they are just human beings." Guardiola's admiration for Haaland The match also saw Haaland notch a landmark strike, with the 300th top level goal for club and 24-year-old spent a spell on the sidelines last season through injury, but has now netted five goals in his past six total, he has scored 258 times for the clubs he has played for - plus 42 for Norway."Congratulations on 300 goals," said Guardiola, who has won all 11 games as manager in the competition. "At 24 years old, it is a good run."His manager was an incredible footballer - he scored 11 goals in 11 years. Imagine that situation so I admire him a lot and happy for him."There's no doubt that Haaland's goals and Rodri's steady influence in midfield are both crucial to City's success - but who is the most vital cog in Guardiola's side? Revealed: Cristiano Ronaldo's new '£492MILLION Al-Nassr contract which includes £25m signing bonus, 16 full-time staff, £4m for private jet use and 15% stake in Saudi club'

Cristiano Ronaldo 's new two-year Al-Nassr contract is the most lucrative in sporting history, according to a report, and is worth a basic £492million over the duration of the deal. The Portuguese has reportedly been handed a bumper pay rise to remain with the Saudi Pro League outfit he joined in December 2022 after leaving Manchester United. The new terms, which will take him past his 42nd birthday, reportedly include an eye-watering basic salary of £488,000-a-day. A report in the Sun states that the forward's contract is the most lucrative in sporting history and on top of the staggering compensation, it includes the perk of becoming a 'dream ambassador' for the Gulf State which could take his income to more than £500m over the next two years. Additionally, he is reportedly pocketing a signing bonus of £24.5m which increases to £38m if he triggers the second year of his contract. The outlet also claim that he has been given a 15 per cent ownership stake in the club worth £33m. In all, if bonuses for claiming for golden boot and winning the Saudi Pro League are received, Ronaldo will be more than half a billion pounds richer at the end of his deal. Confirmation of the former United and Real Madrid star's new deal came on Thursday following months of speculation that he could depart the club this summer. Last month, the Portuguese sparked rumours that he could leave the Riyadh-based outfit when he posted a cryptic social media message, which began with the words 'this chapter is over'. The post came at the end of another trophyless season at the club he joined from Manchester United in December 2022 and helped fuel bizarre rumours, further fanned by FIFA, that he could make a switch to a side competing in the Club World Cup . However, following Portugal's Nations League win, the 40-year-old revealed that he would be returning to Al-Nassr for this coming season. On Thursday, the striker and the club confirmed the decision, with Ronaldo posting on X: 'A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let's make history together.' Ronaldo scored 35 goals in 41 matches in all competitions last term and was the Saudi Pro League's top scorer for the second season running. In all, he has netted 99 times in 111 appearances for Al-Nassr and is inching closer to his dream of reaching 1,000 senior career goals. His current tally stands at 938. In addition to the ludicrous sums involved in Ronaldo's deal, the Sun also claim that Ronaldo and his family will have 16 people working full-time - three drivers, four housekeepers, two chefs, three gardeners and four security people - who will be paid for by Al-Nassr at a cost of around £1.4m. Furthermore, there is £4m for use of a private jet, as well as the promise of sponsorship deals with Saudi companies which could reach £60m. The report quotes a source as saying the club were 'very worried' the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, considered to be the 'face of the league' was headed for the exit. News of Ronaldo's deal comes a day after it was announced that head coach Stefano Pioli will leave the club. Pioli becomes the fourth coach to depart the Saudi Pro League side since Ronaldo joined them in 2023. He follows Rudi Garcia, Dinko Jelicic and Luís Castro in having headed for the exit door since Ronaldo's arrival in January 2023.
