The Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies (MBMA) has launched the fifth edition of the Ambassadors' Majlis, a programme held during Ramadhan to reflect Bahrain's tradition of hosting majlises and fostering engagement during the holy month.
The initiative provides diplomats with an opportunity to interact with accredited ambassadors to the Kingdom of Bahrain, gain insights from their experiences, and learn firsthand about their diplomatic careers. Dr. Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director-General of MBMA, expressed her appreciation for hosting ambassadors at the academy's majlis. She reaffirmed the academy's commitment to promoting constructive diplomatic dialogue and strengthening ties with representatives of allied and friendly nations.
This year's edition featured three ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom of Bahrain: H.E. Reham Abdelhamid Mahmoud Khalil, Ambassador of Egypt; H.E. Steven C. Bondy, Ambassador of the US; and H.E. Tatjana Garcevic, Ambassador of Serbia. They shared their perspectives

Reinforcing Historic Relations The talks highlighted the strong brotherly ties between the two kingdoms, underpinned by the close leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of Jordan. Both leaders have continuously fostered a spirit of cooperation that has led to significant bilateral progress across political, economic, and diplomatic fronts. Expanding Bilateral Cooperation The two foreign ministers reviewed the current status of joint cooperation and explored avenues to expand collaboration in line with signed agreements and memoranda of understanding. They emphasized the need to strengthen coordination mechanisms and broaden partnerships across all sectors, with a focus on international forums and strategic regional initiatives that serve shared interests. Showcasing Bahrain's Digital Diplomacy Minister Safadi was given a comprehensive overview of Bahrain's strides in digital transformation within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Dr. Al Zayani showcased the digital services offered to citizens domestically and abroad, the operational e-governance platforms, and tools developed to track bilateral projects and initiatives. Special attention was given to Bahrain's diplomatic training programs and its contributions to human rights through the implementation of the National Human Rights Plan. Regional Peace and Humanitarian Efforts Discussed The meeting also served as a platform for exchanging views on key regional developments. Both sides discussed the urgent need for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, the release of hostages and detainees, and the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid. They reiterated their support for advancing efforts toward a just and lasting peace in the region and agreed on the importance of continued dialogue and unity within the Arab world. New Diplomatic Training Agreement Signed A major outcome of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Bahrain's Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies and Jordan's Diplomatic Institute. The agreement aims to promote collaboration in diplomatic training, research, and academic exchanges, further enhancing the professional capabilities of both countries' foreign service personnel. Bangladesh Embassy hosts 54th independence celebration

The Embassy of Bangladesh organised a reception on 16 April 2025 at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel with due dignity and in a joyful atmosphere to celebrate the 54th Anniversary of the Great Independence and National Day of Bangladesh. The reception was graced by the event's Chief Guest, Her Excellency Ambassador Dr. Shaikha Muneera Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director General of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, representing the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom. Dignitaries A diverse array of high-level dignitaries was present during the reception, namely, members of the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives, ambassadors and other high-ranking diplomats, representatives of the United Nations and other international organisations, senior officials of the Bahrain Government, prominent businesspersons, journalists, teachers and students of Bangladesh School Bahrain, leaders of the Bangladeshi community residing in Bahrain, as well as the officers and officials of the Embassy along with their families. The reception commenced with the playing of the national anthems of Bahrain and Bangladesh, followed by a brief documentary screening on Bangladesh, a cultural program, a cake-cutting ceremony marking the Independence & National Day of Bangladesh, and finally, a banquet dinner arranged for the invited guests. The venue was also beautifully decorated, featuring a Bangladesh Corner showcasing a photography exhibition and a collection of Bangladeshi products and souvenirs, which impressed both local as well as foreign attendees. Welcome address The Ambassador of Bangladesh to Bahrain, His Excellency Mr. Md. Rais Hasan Sarower, ndc, began his welcome address by respectfully remembering all the heroic freedom fighters who were martyred in the Great Liberation War of 1971. He also recalled all the martyrs who were killed in the mass uprising of July-August 2024.

40 Mosques Opened and Renovated During Ramadhan Following Crown Prince's Directives

Manama: Following the directives of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, 40 mosques opened, renovated during Ramadhan. The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments announced the completion of 40 mosque openings, renovations, and upgrades across the Kingdom of Bahrain during Ramadhan. According to Bahrain News Agency, the initiative was carried out following the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and under the royal care of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for places of worship. Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, noted the importance of preserving the religious and social role of mosques, highlighting the leadership's commitment to their upkeep and expansion. He stated that the directives of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister during the month of Ramadhan, now in their fourth consecutive year, have accelerated progress in developing houses of worship across the Kingdom. Shaikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futtais Al Hajeri, Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council, and Yusuf bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Jaafari Endowments Council, both expressed appreciation for the leadership's continued support for the maintenance and development of mosques across all governorates. Newly opened mosques include Mohammed bin Mohammed Ahmadi Mosque and Abdullah Nass Mosque in East Hidd, Al Watya Mosque in Saar, Ahmad Mohammed Ali Al Yousra Mosque in Dair, Zainal Mosque in Hamad Town, and Mariam Mosque in North Riffa. Foundation stones were laid for Lulwa bint Abdulaziz Al Ali Al Bassam Mosque in northern Riffa and Yusuf bin Ahmed bin Ali Kanoo Mosque in Salman City. Renovated mosques include Manar Al Huda, Al Awadhi, Shaikh Mansour, Shaikh Ahmed, Widad Yaqoob Al Muftah, Omar bin Abdulaziz, Abu Loif, Ras Rumman Grand Mosque, Haj Ibrahim Hassan Kamal, Al Nasr, Zain Al Abidin, Mohammed Al Touq, Sayed Abduljalil, Yaqoob Al Nafisi, Shaikh Mohammed, Shaikh Ibrahim (Al Abreeq), Ahmed bin Ajlan, Suhaib Al Rumi, Al Khidr, Al Muntadhar, Shaikh Salman, Shaikh Al Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, Amir Al Mu'minin, Imam Ali, Fatima, Al Tarajneh, Abu Talib, New A'ali Grand Mosque, Sayeda Zainab, Al Watya (Zinj), Imam Hassan, and Shaikh Yaseen.
