Suzanne Somers' Widower Is Dating Her Former Co-Star
Suzanne Somers' widower Alan Hamel is moving on, step by step.
The former Canadian TV presenter, who was married to the 'Three's Company' star for nearly 50 years, confirmed to Page Six Wednesday that he's dating actor Joanna Cassidy, who co-starred with Somers in the 1985 miniseries 'Hollywood Wives.'
Somers died in 2023 at the age of 76after battling breast cancer on and off for five decades.
Although Somers worked with Cassidy in the past, so had Hamel. He noted to Page Six that Cassidy appeared on his former daytime talk show in the 1970s.
'I have known Joanna Cassidy for over 45 years,' he told the outlet. 'Joanna was a guest star on 'The Alan Hamel Show' in Canada in the '70s. She was a great guest, and it was a dynamic show, and we liked each other, not romantically, but mainly with respect. Both of us were married at the time.'
Although Hamel admitted he doesn't 'know where this relationship is going' yet with Cassidy, he did reveal how the pair recently reconnected.
'My son [Stephen] met Joanna at a screening and after a long conversation suggested to Joanna that she and me would get along and should meet,' Hamel said. 'Stephen did not know we knew each other.'
Hamel also spoke highly of Cassidy, a former model who had memorable roles in 1982's 'Blade Runner,' 1988's 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit,' and 1991's 'Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead.'
'Joanna is extremely accomplished,' he said. 'She is easily the hardest-working and most active actress in Hollywood for well over 50 years. She's a great mother to her adult children, turns up for many fundraisers for first responders and is staff for her four cats. She is no Hollywood BS, and we laugh a lot.'
Hamel, 88, previously told Page Six that the 'Step by Step' alum told him towards the end of her life that she wanted him to move on after she died.
'Since Suzanne was my only date for over 50 years, I'm a virgin dater,' Hamel told the outlet in December. 'Suzanne told me when we knew the end was near not to 'mope around' and live my life.'

There's a new Google app on the block and it's all about fashion
Google TL;DR Google has released a new app called Doppl in the US. The app is designed to help users try out different outfits virtually. Doppl lets you upload a photo or even a screenshot of an outfit you like, and creates a digital, animated version of you wearing it. Google is rolling out a brand-new app called 'Doppl.' The experimental app is designed to help you imagine how different outfits might look on you, without having to physically try them out. Available starting today on iOS and Android in the US, Doppl is part of Google Labs, a branch of the company dedicated to testing out new apps and tools. So, what does Doppl do? Google notes in its blog post that Doppl lets you upload a photo or even a screenshot of an outfit you like, and creates a digital, animated version of you wearing it. So if you spot a cool jacket on a friend or a great look on social media, just snap a picture and Doppl will give you an AI-generated preview of how it might look on your body. The app can also turn images into short videos, giving you a better idea of how an outfit might move and feel. You can also save your favorite looks and share them directly from the app. Doppl builds on Google Shopping's virtual try-on feature, but takes things a step further with a standalone app that's easier to use and offers more features. Google does note that Doppl is still in its early days, so the results might not be 100% accurate when it comes to fit or clothing details. You can try out Doppl now by downloading it from the Google Play Store or the App Store.

Scott Wolf granted temporary custody of children
Scott Wolf has been granted temporary custody of his children. The Party of Five actor announced earlier this month he had split from Kelley Wolf after more than 20 years of marriage, and now he has been awarded temporary sole physical and legal custody of Jackson, 16, Miller, 12, and 11-year-old Lucy, with his estranged wife's custody or parent time suspended. Scott, 57, was also given a temporary restraining order against Kelley, 48, with documents obtained by Us Weekly magazine alleging the reality star had "engaged in an escalating pattern of behaviour that poses a substantial threat of immediate and irreparable harm to the parties' minor children." Kelley's time with the children has been suspended until a private guardian ad litem can meet with the children and provide feedback to the court. The documents stated: "Kelley's parent time shall be supervised by an agreed-upon third party or agency pending further order by the court." She is not allowed to contact Scott - who has been awarded sole and exclusive use of their family fome in Utah - or the children, and is also "restrained from posting anything on social media" regarding the divorce, the children or the actor. A failure to comply may lead to a fine or even time in jail. The order was put in place after the former Real World star allegedly tried to take the children out of the country and displayed "behaviour sufficient for Kelley to be detained by law enforcement and subsequently placed on an involuntary psychiatric commitment." A hearing has been set for 1 July, when the court will determine if Kelley can have supervised time with the children and also address any financial issues. The temporary order will stay in place until 9 July. Days after news of the former couple's split was announced, Kelly was hospitalised under an involuntary 5150 hold - which is described as "a critical intervention used to detain individuals who are considered a danger to themselves or others or are gravely disabled due to a mental disorder" - but was discharged days later and insisted earlier this week that she is "fine". She insisted on Instagram on Monday (23.06.25): 'I'm fine, y'all. I'm happy. 'No mental illness. No addictions. Just a woman who SURVIVED an involuntary 5150 and went on a 1st DATE 2-night. So nervous! OMG!' She also admitted she had 'called suicide hotlines.(20 yrs ago)'. She added: "I had my heart shattered and my body bruised… but still kickin!! Hello! [cry laughing emoi]... 'In other words: I'm ALIVE. I'm not quiet anymore. And the show's just getting started.(sic)"

Micheal Cera Says Tom Cruise Called Him Out on Set for ‘Talking During a F‑‑‑ing Take,' Trolled Him While in Character as Les Grossman From ‘Tropic Thunder'
Meeting Tom Cruise is a pinch me moment for many young actors, but meeting Tom Cruise while he's in character as the foul-mouthed Hollywood agent Len Grossman from 'Tropic Thunder' is a whole different beast. Michael Cera found out the funny way when he showed up to film a pre-taped segment for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards alongside Cruise as Grossman. 'Tom Cruise did one where he was playing his character from 'Tropic Thunder,' the movie mogul guy,' Cera said on the 'Louis Theroux Podcast' (via Entertainment Weekly). 'So they were shooting all day these little clips of him and that character interacting with various people coming in and out, and I came in and I did a little moment with him on that.' More from Variety Michael Cera Says He Turned Down a Role in 'Harry Potter' Spinoff 'Fantastic Beasts': 'I Had a Big Fear' That 'I Would Get Too Famous' Tom Cruise Reunites With Brad Pitt at 'F1' Premiere; Actors Were Supposed to Race Together in a 'Ford v Ferrari' Movie That Got Axed Over Budget Zhang Ziyi, Peter Chan's 'She's Got No Name' Debuts Atop China Box Office 'Tom runs the set,' he added. 'I was really there for like five minutes, but what I observed was, he was like the first AD on the set…. I mean, he was such a leader. The first moment I had with him, I arrived, they were shooting, and I was talking to the writer. We were just kind of mumbling while they were shooting, but they could hear us. It was just like 40 feet away. And Tom Cruise looks at me, I've never met him, and they're in the middle of a take and he looks, and he goes, 'Is that Michael Cera talking during a fucking take?' He was joking, but it was also like, 'Do shut up,' you know? But so surreal.' Cera came face to face with Cruise later that day, explaining: 'Then I met him and he is like, 'Talking during a fucing take.' I knew he was playing around, so I was like, 'Hey man, it wasn't me, it was the writer.' He was like, 'I'm kidding, I'm kidding.' And I was like, 'I'm kidding, too.'' Cruise earned a Golden Globe nomination for his performance as Les Grossman in 'Tropic Thunder,' Ben Stiller's Hollywood satire about the making of a Vietnam War movie gone wrong. The actor's longtime 'Mission: Impossible' collaborator Christopher McQuarrie recently said on the 'Happy Sad Confused' podcast that he and Cruise have been discussing a potential Les Grossman movie. 'The conversations we've had about Les Grossman are so fucking funny,' McQuarrie said. '[Cruise and I are] talking about it, we're having very serious conversations about it, and how best to do it. It ultimately comes down to what that character is.' Listen to Ceria's full interview on the 'Louis Theroux Podcast' here.
