Driver dies weeks after three-vehicle crash as 'heartbroken' family pay tribute
William John Horne died on Sunday June 8, after the crash on the A982 South Road in Peterhead which occurred on Tuesday May 13.
A driver has died nearly a month after he was involved in a three-vehicle crash. William John Horne passed away on Sunday June 8, as the police probe into the crash continues.
The 67-year-old was driving a Volkswagon Transporter van on Tuesday May 13, which was involved in a crash with a white Kia Ceed and a red Seat Alhambra at around 3.30pm.
The collision took place on the A982 South Road at the Aberdeenshire town of Peterhead. He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
On Tuesday, some weeks later, Police Scotland confirmed he had passed away and issued a statement from his devastated family.

It said: " Our family is utterly heartbroken by the tragic loss of William John Horne. We want to give our sincere thanks to the first responder, police, paramedics and all the wonderful staff at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary ICU for their care and attention to William."
The force said the occupants of the other vehicles received treatment for non-serious injuries.
Officers are still appealing to the public for witnesses to come forward.
Constable John Grant, of the North East Road Policing unit, said: "Our thoughts are with William's family who have asked for privacy at this difficult time.
" Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and anyone with information who can assist and has not already spoken to officers is asked to get in touch."

The report for Thursday's meeting of the audit, risk and scrutiny committee, adds: 'The legality of operating the service was clarified with legal services.' The report calls for cash to be paid in to the bank 'at least every week', which is now being carried out. The report warns: 'If income is not being submitted this would not be identified. Funds could be stolen.' Auditors also found that while money from Stranraer was going to the correct bank account, the Dumfries and Castle Douglas money was going into a catering account. More info A Midlothian mum has said she was 'in shock' after a driver in a BMW ploughed into her garden. Shona Halliday was at her house in Dalkeith on Tuesday evening when a motorist 'came through the fence to her garden'. Officers have since arrested a 32-year-old driver, who is due to appear in court on July 2. Shona and her neighbour both have 13-year-old boys, who she said 'could have been out playing in the garden'. Footage from the garden after the incident shows the 3 series on the lawn, with damage to the front of the vehicle and the wooden fence crumpled underneath. Emergency services raced to the scene on Firhill Road at around 8.20pm yesterday evening. 2 An eleven-year-old girl was hit by a car on Firhill Road Credit: GOOGLE MAPS The alarm was raised after police received reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a car. An eleven-year-old girl was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in an ambulance for treatment. Her current condition is not yet known. The extent of her injuries is also currently unknown. Cops locked down the road for over five hours to allow collision investigators to conduct inquiries. Photos from the scene show half a dozen police cars swarming the area at around 9pm. A van sat parked in the middle of the road, stopping drivers from accessing the road. Two other police cars were seen in the area into the night as officers stood guard. Blue police tape was also erected around the street, blocking access to the public. The road was reopened again at around 1am this morning.
