beIN Academy empowers more than 300 Qatar University students in hands-on media training

The beIN MEDIA GROUP ('beIN'), a leading global sports, entertainment and media group, successfully concluded a two-day media training event at Qatar University titled 'On Air with beIN; in collaboration with Career Development Centre.
Held as part of beIN's CSR initiative, beIN Academy, which aims to inspire and empower the next generation of media professionals in Qatar, the event engaged more than 300 media students from across the university, offering them a unique opportunity to explore the world of media and broadcasting through interactive sessions that simulated real-world production environments.
The event was attended by beIN's Director of MENA HR Hamad Ibrahim Al Shaikh and beIN's Director of Technical Operation Ali Hassan Al Naama.
As part of the immersive experience, beIN set up a fully operational mini studio on campus, staffed by a full team of experts, including directors, presenters, reporters, photographers, and a technical crew, who guided students through the complete media production process.
Participants received hands-on training in key industry skills such as sports broadcasting, digital content creation, and live reporting.
Attendees also had a unique opportunity to engage with prominent beIN talents Mohammed Saadon Al Kuwari and Asya Abdullah, who shared their professional journeys and offered insights into working within the region's leading sports and entertainment network.
beIN Academy is an educational programme designed to equip students with the insights, skills, and tools needed to thrive in both the national and international media industry. It encompasses volunteering opportunities, workshops, and internships, offering hands-on experience across the sports, entertainment, and broadcasting sectors.
beIN and Qatar University have enjoyed a strategic partnership since 2020, which was further solidified last year with the renewal of their long-term cooperation agreement, extending their collaboration until 2028. Since the initial agreement, the partnership has resulted in numerous achievements and areas of joint cooperation.
This latest collaboration not only marks a significant milestone in the partnership, but also reinforces beIN's broader mission to develop local talent, support Qatar's creative economy, and contribute to the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.

The match was decided in a marathon tiebreak that lasted 16-14 in favour of the Qatari star, who shone with steadfastness and confidence under pressure to deservedly secure the title. This was Rabeah second title in the same tournament after a bronze medal in the under-13 section, despite originally competing in the under-11 category. The triumph highlights his great potential as a promising player from Qatar Table Tennis Association's (QTTA) Dream Team project. Meanwhile, Rasha Laghribi made history in her first international event by winning gold in the under-11 Junior category with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Greek player Cleo Madesi. Rasha started the match trailing in the first set 9-11, but quickly regained her composure and won the second set 11-7. Despite losing the third set 9-11, she showed strong character and came back strongly in the fourth, winning 11-6, to win the match in a tiebreaker 11-9 and claim the gold medal. Rasha also won a bronze medal in the under-13 category. The double achievement which underlines her status as one of the most upcoming talent. This victories of the Qatar players are the fruits of the great efforts made by QTTA to support emerging talent through participation in international tournaments and by providing them exposure and experience. This victory in Kosovo is an important milestone in the journey of the Qatari Dream Team, which includes a group of promising players.

Lusail International Circuit announces return of public karting

Tribune News Network Doha Lusail International Circuit (LIC) has announced the return of its Public Karting program, offering motorsport enthusiasts aged 13 and up the opportunity to experience professional karting at Qatar's premier racing facility. Starting from June 11, the karting track will be open to the public from Wednesday to Saturday, 18:00 to 23:00 hrs. The Public Karting program provides participants with access to professional-grade karting facilities in a safe and controlled environment. The 900-meter karting track will feature 15 karts on track, running 12-minute sessions. Participants will experience a blend of performance and excitement with 270cc engines producing 8.5 horsepower, all while reaching speeds of 50-60 km/h. Safety will remain the top priority with strict regulations in place: All participants must be at least 13 years old with a minimum height of 153cm. Ages 13-17 must be registered under a parent/guardian's profile as dependents, with guardian supervision required throughout the entire session. Ages 18+ must register with their own account. All participants must sign a waiver/disclaimer form. Mandatory safety briefing attendance prior to karting. All participants must arrive at least 30 minutes before session time. All participants must bring their QID or passports for verification and present the QR code. All participants will receive a helmet and disposable head mask. Helmets will be sanitized using ozone-based units that naturally deactivate viruses. Personal helmets will be permitted but must have clear visors with no tints or mirrors. Bumping into karts or barriers will be strictly prohibited; karting is a no-contact sport. Dress code: Closed-toe shoes and fitted athletic clothing required, hair must be tied back securely. Medical restrictions: Pregnant women and individuals with heart conditions, epilepsy, or neck/back injuries are advised not to participate. To ensure convenience and availability, LIC has implemented an online-only registration system. Participants must verify their email and complete their profile with required personal information before booking. Both individual and group session options will be available, with full details for all participants required before the session. Adults (12 minutes): QR125 per karting session. Once registered, bookings cannot be exchanged, rescheduled, transferred, or refunded. LIC may cancel sessions due to weather or safety concerns, in which case participants will receive vouchers for future use. Free parking available on-site. Spectator areas for watching sessions. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Sheikh Dr. Abdulla bin Ali bin Saud Al-Thani, vice chairman and managing director of Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC), members of the Board, Dr. Daniel R. Porterfield, president and CEO of the Aspen Institute (USA), and Abdulla Mohammed Khalifa Albinali, general manager of QLC, The MoU also aims to foster and strengthen mutual cooperation in the design of specialized workshops and seminars centered on values-based and innovative leadership.
