Elon Musk
is back in the news and this week it's been for things other than his work. Recently, reports of the billionaire being addicted to drug use went viral on the Internet with publications and people reporting instances where they believed Musk was on drugs.
Now, a day later, Musk bid his farewell to his role within the Trump administration with an appearance at the Oval Office that raised eyes among many.
The billionaire attended a press conference with President Trump and vowed to remain a "friend and advisor to the US president." While his parting words as the head of DOGE should have been the main focus, people could not remove their eyes from his face which sported a huge black eye.
Who gave Elon Musk a black eye?

Well, when questioned by the media about his black eye, Musk revealed that it was none other than his son X who did it, adding that he punched him while playing. "I was just horsing around with lil' X, and I said, 'Go ahead, punch me in the face and he did'" said Musk.
Even the president whose interaction with Lil X went viral on the internet, agreed to the claim adding, "If you knew X, X could do it."

And Musk spotting a black eye during a press conference seemed to be one until he clarified it.
However, when asked about the drug allegations, the billionaire quickly dodged the question saying, "Let's move on. Okay. Next question."
Social media reactions to Elon Musk's black eye
Netizens of course went gaga over Musk sporting a black eye with questions on its origin and then suspicion over the claim that it was his son who did it.
"Musk's officially blamed his black eye on his 5 year old son, claiming he told him to punch him as a game.
However, on closer inspection you can see other bruising and scratches." wrote a person on X marking other places where Musk could be seen having scratches on his face.
Interestingly, while some parents on the internet seemed to agree with Musk, others didn't. "To be fair, my 2 year old punches me in the face at least twice per day," wrote an X user. "Most littles would not be able to hit that hard. I have 4 kids- never had a bruised face by any of them 🥹" wrote another.
Many questioned if his black eye was another sign of being on drugs, writing, "Is Elon Musk high???! What's up with the black eye????"

Trump-Musk breakup: There's a Trump tweet for every Musk move; a love-hate story in 280 characters

In the grand arena of American politics, few relationships have been as electrifying—or as perplexing—as that of Elon Musk and Donald Trump. Their bond, forged in the fires of Twitter (now X), has been a whirlwind of endorsements, criticisms, and the occasional meme-worthy moment. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now But if there's one thing we've learned, it's that there's a Trump tweet for every Musk move—and vice versa. The reinstatement tango It all began in November 2022, when Elon Musk, in his infinite wisdom, decided that the world needed more Trump tweets. So, he conducted a poll on X, asking the masses if they wanted to reinstate the former president's account. The result? A narrow "yes" vote of 51.8%. Musk declared, "The people have spoken," and just like that, Trump's digital megaphone was back online . But the real kicker came when Trump returned to the platform with a post that could only be described as cinematic: his mugshot. The caption? "ELECTION INTERFERENCE! NEVER SURRENDER!" Musk, ever the enthusiast, responded with a succinct "Next-level" . Because nothing says "I'm in this for the long haul" like a mugshot and a retweet. The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE): A match made in bureaucratic heaven Fast forward to late 2024. Trump, ever the innovator, announced the creation of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), with none other than Elon Musk at the helm. The goal? To cut $2 trillion from the federal budget. Musk, ever the cost-cutter, was all in . However, as with all things Musk, the execution was... let's say, ambitious. Under his leadership, the department enacted sweeping layoffs, cut thousands of contracts, and slashed grants. The result? A fiscal policy that left many scratching their heads and wondering if Mars was looking more appealing by the day . The "Big, Beautiful Bill" fallout But the honeymoon didn't last. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now In June 2025, Musk launched a full-throated campaign against Trump's signature spending bill, the "One Big Beautiful Bill." Describing it as a "disgusting abomination," Musk urged Americans to pressure lawmakers to reject it with the rallying cry "KILL the BILL" . Trump's response? Silence. Well, almost. He reposted a previous positive tweet from Musk on Truth Social and refrained from his usual combative retorts . Perhaps he was too busy planning his next rally—or maybe he was just giving Musk the space to shine in his own unique way. The meme that keeps on giving Through all the policy shifts, budget cuts, and political maneuvering, one thing has remained constant: the memes. Whether it's Musk's "Return of the King" post celebrating Trump's comeback or Trump's own cryptic tweets, the internet has been treated to a never-ending stream of content that blurs the line between politics and performance art . In the end, the relationship between Elon Musk and Donald Trump is a testament to the unpredictable nature of modern politics. It's a saga filled with unexpected alliances, dramatic reversals, and a plethora of tweets that keep us all guessing. So, the next time you find yourself scrolling through X, remember: there's a Trump tweet for every Musk move—and vice versa.

Ro Khanna says he's certain Elon Musk would also criticize Trump for 'banning' foreign students

Ro Khanna said he always praised Elon Musk's innovations and he's certain that Elon Musk is against Donald Trump's crackdown on foreign students. Indian-origin Democratic Rep Ro Khanna of California spoke against the Donald Trump administration's ban on international students and said international students contribute $44 billion to the American economy, making this one of the best exports for those who care about lowering the trade deficit. Khanna said Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick always speaks about lowering the trade deficit and this is the sector that can actually help. "The reality is that you have people like Elon Musk who were foreign students, I mean, they have been embedded in Silicon Valley and the companies that have been created," Ro Khanna said on CNBC. "Now you like Elon Musk?" the host on the panel asked Ro Khann to which the Democrat said he always praised Elon Musk and his contribution, and the two know each other for a long time. "I have known Elon Musk for 15 years. I have always praised Tesla, SpaceX, his innovations. And you see him now expressing certain concerns. I guarantee he would criticize banning foreign students," Khanna said. The comments of the Democratic leader came as Elon Musk is ow on a warpath against President Donald Trump though he has not named the president but criticized the Congressmen who voted for the Big, Beautiful Bill which he said would increase the debt ceiling by five trillion dollars. 'You go talk to Stanford, you talk to other state colleges, many of them rely on international students to be able to have the employment they do. Foreign students who pay full freight also help defray the cost so American students don't have to pay as much," Ro Khanna said. The State Department has paused all student visa interviews to come to a decision on social media vetting. The president Wednesdat signed a proclamation restricting foreign student visas at Harvard University amid the administration's ongoing tussle with the university. Trump barred harvard to enroll international students as it did not provide the administration with details of foreign students that it sought -- but the order was stayed by a court.
