Journalist Tom Blow has launched The Shoreham Journal, a brand new free newsletter dedicated to all things Sheffield United; here's everything you need to know about it
I'm a staunch believer that you can truly support only one team in sport.
You might be interested in other sports and watch other teams, but there's just one that significantly affects your happiness and consumes most of your attention. For me, that team is Sheffield United.

I've been lucky in my life to live in different cities and cover different sports. I've seen Jude Bellingham play at the Bernabeu, attended the Super Bowl, and reported from cricket's T20 World Cup.

The outcomes of those games don't really matter to me. But if the Blades lose, my weekend will be spoiled. I know many United fans reading this will feel precisely the same way.
Whether you hold a season ticket or you live thousands of miles away from Bramall Lane, supporting and following your team is a lifetime commitment; it's part of your identity. And for me, covering United is a lifelong dream.
What is The Shoreham Journal newsletter?
That's one of the reasons why I've created The Shoreham Journal, a free newsletter all about United that will be published twice a week and delivered straight into your inbox.
This newsletter will round up all the essential news about United, from transfer news to press conferences, insight from former players to analysis.

The platform will also highlight and link to all the fantastic content created by United fans across social media, as well as articles produced by other outlets. It'll also encourage readers to voice their opinions; I want fans to leave comments on posts, participate in polls, respond on social media and utilise the newsletter's chat function.

And don't worry, the content won't be all wishy-washy posts like this. Our aim is to provide you with the essential news you need.
I'm incredibly thrilled about this newsletter, and I would be delighted if you could subscribe. Here are the answers to some crucial questions you might have:
Are there any ads?
No! The newsletter is being published on Substack, an ad-free platform. There will be no adverts when you receive the newsletter in your email inbox or when you look at the newsletter on our website.

Advertisements may appear on any external websites/platforms I link to, but I cannot control that.
Is the newsletter completely free?
Yes! On launch, the newsletter will be completely free to read and subscribe to. Substack does allow creators to put some or all of their content behind a paywall, but I've got no interest in doing that at this moment in time or in the foreseeable future.
How do I sign up?
Right here!

The Red Devils recently revealed total operating expenses have dropped by £41.6million to £162.1m in the latest quarterly club accounts after Sir Jim Ratcliffe's brutal cost cutting. 3 Manchester United are ready to win the race for Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres 3 Man Utd minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe's cuts are leading to a gradual U-turn in finances 3 Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim is now ready to raid his former club for Gyokeres That is despite the cash spent on the Glazers' debt spiralling to a staggering £1.2BILLION. United's gradual U-turn in club finances means they are ready to pip Arsenal to land Sporting Lisbon striker Gyokeres. The Gunners are keen on the former Coventry hitman, 27, but are also chasing RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. Sweden striker Gyokeres, who scored 54 goals in 52 games for Sporting last season, has an £85m release clause. But it is understood that the Portuguese side would accept a fee closer to £60m this summer. United boss Ruben Amorim is now ready to raid his former club after the boost in their accounts. Yet the Glazers' debt still casts a long shadow over the fallen giants, whose wage bill was down a huge £20m to £71.2m compared with a year ago. United have now spent an astonishing £1.2bn on the debt in 20 years of the Americans' ownership. CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS According to the BBC, £815m in debt interest repayments; £166m in dividends to shareholders; £197m in external net debt repayments and £10m in management and administration fees to the Glazer family companies has left the club since the Glazers bought it in June 2005. Meanwhile, chief executive Omar Berrada warned United must improve after a humiliating season in which they finished 15th in the Premier League and lost the Europa League final against Tottenham. Viktor Gyokeres responds as he is asked if he 'likes London' amid Arsenal transfer links He said: 'We were proud to reach the final of the Europa League but ultimately were disappointed to finish as runner-up in Bilbao. 'We had a difficult season in the Premier League, which fell below our standards, and we have a clear expectation of improvement next season.' United have already agreed to pay £62.5m to land forward Matheus Cunha from Wolves. And they are chasing a £55m deal for Brentford ace Bryan Mbeumo as they attempt to stay within the Prem's Profit and Sustainability Rules. But Amorim will also need to offload a clutch of big-name players from a group including Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Casemiro.

Ex-Man Utd star to reunite with Greenwood after missing out on dream return

Former Manchester United star Angel Gomes will link up with Mason Greenwood after sealing a shock transfer to Marseille. The England midfielder was out of contract this summer. He had been linked with a return to Old Trafford, while Premier League rivals Tottenham and West Ham were also credited with an interest. Despite that, Gomes has chosen to move elsewhere. According to RMC Sport, he is set to move to the French giants, who have offered the midfielder a three-year deal at the Stade Velodrome. Gomes has agreed to the move having been convinced by Roberto De Zerbi's style of play, while the chance to play in the Champions League proved difficult to turn down. Gomes will link up with former United teammate and fellow academy graduate Greenwood with his new employers. The striker moved to France permanently last summer and went on to score 22 goals across his debut campaign. Greenwood has been linked with a move of his own amid reported interest from Barcelona but has expressed his desire to remain with Marseille. Speaking earlier this year, he said: "I hope to be here next year for the Champions League. 'All the other players tell me that the stadium is something special. I think it's been a very positive season, we've reached our objective." Gomes, 24, has been with Lille since leaving Old Trafford in 2021. The four-time England international has gone on to make 134 appearances for the club, scoring on ten occasions. Speaking previously, he admitted that he would potentially be open to a return to United. As quoted by L'Equipe, he said: 'It was a very difficult decision. In my heart, I wanted to leave, in my head, I was thinking of staying. But I had to follow my heart. I felt that I needed to take another step in my career. "I felt that had I stayed, there wouldn't be a lot of opportunities for me. Luis Campos [Lille's then sporting director] and Lille spoke about their project and I believed in it even more, that's what convinced me to move - the faith Lille had in me. "Do I imagine myself coming back one day? Obviously, it's home. I would love to come back. But you never know in football. I just have to keep my feet on the ground, and keep playing, making the most of it. I can't predict what will happen in the future." Man Utd told to join race to sign £42m Arsenal transfer target

Manchester United have been urged to consider a move for one of Arsenal's transfer targets to provide Ruben Amorim with more attacking firepower. After a deflating end to the campaign, which saw them finish 15th in the Premier League and miss out on European silverware, United are plotting their latest summer rebuild. The Red Devils have identified the forward line as a key area for improvement and have already signed Matheus Cunha to begin to address those concerns. A deal for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo could also follow, although both clubs are still yet to agree on a fee after United's initial offer was rejected. Should a deal for the Cameroonian international fail to materialise, however, United may be forced to consider alternative options. And former Red Devils defender Gary Pallister believes that Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma could be the man to make an instant impact at Old Trafford. 'I don't think you can ever have enough attacking options and we have seen what Kaoru Mitoma can do in the Premier League,' Pallister told 'Marcus Rashford might be leaving the club and Amad Diallo was the only forward hitting his top level before he got injured, the club needs back up in those areas. 'If Mitoma is available then I'd like to see him at Old Trafford, he can make an impact.' The Japanese international notched up 10 goals and four assists in the league last season and has attracted interest from several top European clubs so far this window. Bayern Munich have taken an interest in the 28-year-old, while Sky Germany also reported that Arsenal have shortlisted the Brighton star as a potential target this summer. More Trending A fee of around €50 million (£42m) is said to potentially be enough to secure Mitoma's services. Mitoma is one of several names on Arsenal's shortlist as Mikel Arteta's side look for wide attacking reinforcements in the summer window. Real Madrid's Rodrygo is said to be the club's dream target but Xabi Alonso has played down speculation linking the Brazilian with an exit. Nico Williams has also been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates in recent windows, but the Spaniard is now reportedly in talks to extend his stay at Athletic Club with a new and improved contract.
