2 Teenage Girls Shot Hours After N.Y.C. Pride Parade Near Historic Stonewall Inn
Two teenage girls were shot near the historic Stonewall Inn in New York City as annual Pride parade festivities were winding down, authorities said.
A 16-year-old girl was shot in the head and taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to an NYPD spokesperson, who said in a statement shared with PEOPLE that officers responded to the scene around 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 29.
Additionally, a 17-year-old girl was shot in the leg and reported to be in stable condition.
A motive for the shooting remains unclear and no arrests have been made as of Monday morning, according to police.
Mayor Eric Adams said in a post on X Sunday night that he was 'saddened by the shooting.'
'During a time when our city should be rejoicing and celebrating members of our diverse LGBTQ+ community, incidents like this are devastating,' he wrote. 'We're praying for the speedy recovery of the victims in tonight's shooting. The NYPD will work quickly and tirelessly to bring the suspects to justice.'
The shooting took place just hours after the city's annual Pride march passed through the area. It honors the 1969 Stonewall riots, a turning point in the LGBTQ+ rights movement.

EMS: Two seriously injured in separate Honolulu knife attacks

'Never been this bad:' Possible road rage shooting latest in Downtown crime uptick
The owner of a Main Street bar said his employee was an innocent bystander when gunfire erupted Downtown Sunday. Cincinnati police reported a 37-year-old man was found shot in the 600 block of Main Street just before midnight June 29. He was taken to an area hospital with injuries that were not life threatening, officials said The owner of Bay Horse Cafe, Kyle Smith, told The Enquirer it was his doorman who was grazed in the leg by a bullet. Smith said surveillance camera footage from the bar shows it could have been a road rage incident between two drivers on Main Street. He said the footage shows a red SUV slammed on its brakes and a black car swerved around it before the drivers began exchanging gunfire. There were about 10 gunshots total, Smith said, four of which entered his establishment, breaking the front window glass. Smith said he spent all night in the hospital with his doorman after one bullet grazed his leg, but he's expected to be okay. Police said some at the scene also reported minor injuries due to broken glass. Pueblo police investigate sixth homicide of 2025 after woman found dead with gunshot wound
Pueblo police are investigating the city's sixth homicide of 2025 after a woman was shot and killed June 29 in the 2400 block of Pine Street. Police responded to the scene at approximately 11:53 a.m. on a report of an injured female, according to a June 30 news release from the Pueblo Police Department. Officers arrived on the scene and located a female victim with an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead by fire rescue personnel. Pueblo PD detectives arrived quickly and took over the investigation. No charges had been determined at the time of Pueblo PD's release. A Pueblo PD spokesperson told the Chieftain police had no suspects that could be publicly disclosed. Pueblo PD's release stated the investigation is ongoing and cautioned that the determination of a homicide, which is the killing of one person by another, "does not necessarily indicate a determination of lawfulness." The Pueblo County Coroner's Office will release the identity of the victim when her next of kin has been notified.
