St. Paul man accused of fatally stabbing wife
A 34-year-old St. Paul man is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the deadly stabbing of his wife.
Court records show the charge against Kedu Husen Buseri was filed Friday in Ramsey County.
According to a criminal complaint, Buseri called 911 on Tuesday afternoon. He allegedly told dispatchers "someone died" and "someone killed his wife."
Officers responding to a home on the 400 block of Central Avenue West saw Buseri's hands were covered with blood when he answered the door. Charges say Buseri had a small cut on his left hand and his right hand wrapped in a piece of clothing.
"She cut me...I cut her," Buseri allegedly told officers.
He was then taken into custody.
Officers found Buseri's wife, 29, wrapped in a blanket and lying on the floor in the basement and an infant on a nearby bed. The woman's eyes were open and she was breathing shallowly but didn't respond when authorities spoke to her, according to the complaint.
Police saw a bent knife by the woman, who allegedly had a large cut across the front of her throat, and cuts to her face and right bicep.
The infant was not injured, but there was blood on their clothing, charges say.
The woman was taken to the hospital where she later died. Buseri was taken to the hospital and treated for a hand injury.
According to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner, the cause of the woman's death was multiple sharp force injuries.
Buseri later spoke with investigators with an Oromo interpreter. He suspected his wife was having an affair with another man and claimed to have seen his vehicle outside the home, according to court documents.
Buseri said he and the woman got into an argument in a downstairs bedroom, and he slapped her, charges say. The woman then grabbed a knife and cut Buseri's hand. He then grabbed the knife from the woman and allegedly stabbed her two times.
According to charges, investigators asked if Buseri had killed his wife and he replied "yes."

Authorities say the death of a toddler in western Minnesota is suspicious and warrants investigation. Family brought an unresponsive 20-month-old child to a hospital in Moorhead, Minnesota, Thursday morning, according to the city's police department. Though medical professionals tried to save the child's life, they died at the hospital. A coroner flagged the death as suspicious, and the Moorhead Police Department and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension began investigating. Authorities secured the family's home as part of the investigation. The Ramsey County medical examiner will autopsy the child. No one has been arrested in connection to the death. To report concerns about child abuse, neglect or sexual abuse, the Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families recommends contacting the county or Tribal Nation where the child lives. Armed men abduct dozens from a bus in Ethiopia
Dozens of bus passengers in Ethiopia have been abducted by armed men in the country's largest region, Oromia, as they were were travelling from the capital, Addis Ababa. Details are only just emerging of the kidnappings which took place earlier this week. The incident happened in Ali Doro, which is near an area where around 100 university students were similarly abducted as they were heading home from their campus last July. Survivors and local authorities blamed those abductions on the Oromo Liberation Army (OLA), a rebel group that operates in the area. The group denied involvement at the time. Referring to this week's incident, the OLA has said it had received reports of the abductions and that it was "conducting an investigation". According to one report by a local media organisation, the passengers were heading to Debre Markos, a town in the country's Amhara region, when they were attacked by the armed men who exchanged fire with local security forces. Another report said several buses were attacked during which at least one person died. The number of abductees could be as high as 50, according to this report. The government has not yet said anything about the kidnappings and the BBC's attempts to get an official response have not been successful. Abductions of civilians - including passengers - have become increasingly common in the area. Armed groups here have in the past demanded ransoms for the release of people they hold. The OLA says it is fighting for the self-determination of Ethiopia's largest ethnic group, the Oromo. It has been classified as a terrorist organisation by the federal parliament and operates in various areas in Oromia including the district where Ali Doro is located.
