Pinpoint Alert Days Sunday and Monday: 90-degree highs expected
The NWS has issued a Heat Advisory for most of the lowlands Sunday and Monday, excluding the coast.
While highs for most will not be extreme, there will be some 90s south of Puget Sound and in the Cascade Valleys.
Also, lake and river water temperatures are still quite cold (lakes in upper 50s and 60s, other waters and rivers colder), so water rescues will probably happen during this time – common during our first warm spells of the spring.
I'm going for 87 in Seattle on Sunday, which would tie the daily record high. Temperatures will back off a couple degrees on Monday.
For this, we're going to make Sunday and Monday Pinpoint Alert Days.

NWS issues flash flood warning for part of NEPA
(WBRE/WYOU)— The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flash Flood Warning until 12:15 p.m. for part of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The NWS has issued a Flash Flood Warning for part of southern Lackawanna County and Northeastern Luzerne County. The NWS Doppler Radar indicated thunderstorms that were capable of producing rainfall of up to two inches in the affected areas. Those areas include Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Pittston, Dunmore, Old Forge, Moosic, Edwardsville, Luzerne, West Wyoming, Moscow, Sugar Notch, Elmhurst, Bear Creek Village, Glendale, Penobscot, Fairview Heights, Mountain Top, Kingston, Plains and Plymouth. Drone video, photos show damage from tornadoes in Lubbock, Texas
At least 20 tornadoes ripped through New Mexico into the Texas border town of Lubbock, leaving more than 10,000 residents in West Texas without power, the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, part of the USA TODAY network, reported Thursday night. Just after noon local time on Friday, June 6, the Lubbock Power and Light outage map reported more than 40 active outages amid flash floods and property damage. The National Weather Service (NWS) reported multiple tornadoes hit the area late on Thursday, resulting in flooding and wind damage focused in Hockley and Lubbock counties. As residents attempted to clean up the damage Friday morning, NWS warned of another round of severe thunderstorms in the evening with the possibility for wind gusts up to 90 mph, hail up to softball size, localized flash flooding, and tornadoes. CMA Fest Day 3: More rain, storm chances for Saturday
Day 3 of CMA Fest may be another soggy one, with a threat of storms later n the day, so pack up your ponchos (and carefully consider your footwear) if you're heading to downtown Nashville for another day of country music. The latest forecast for June 7 shows there is a chance of rain throughout the day and with storms, some of which may be severe, possible in the afternoon and evening. The Nashville area is under a slight risk (level 2 of 5) for severe storms Saturday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. "Main threats include damaging winds and heavy rainfall," forecasters said of the afternoon and evening storm risk. "There is a lesser threat of large hail. And there is a very low chance of tornadoes mainly across southern Middle Tennessee." The timing for the storms will vary across the region, but NWS said the main window is from a severe weather threat is from 1-6 p.m. The CMA Connect app will send out real-time alerts about when stages are closed, where attendees can shelter and when it is safe to return to outdoor stages.
