The Video Thread
Episode 5 of Secrets We Keep starts with Mike at the hotel by himself. Oscar is texting Viggo about posting a new video, and Katarina visits Cecilie while crying.
Viggo hides as he listens to Katarina, begging Cecilie to help her identify Ruby's body. Katarina is frantic, claiming she has never seen a dead body and doesn't want to.
Rasmus is out of town, so Katarina can only ask Cecilie. Cecilie agrees to meet with the police and identify the body. On her way out, Viggo asks to speak to her, but she brushes him away. She promises to talk when she returns from the morgue.
Once Cecilie arrives at the morgue, she positively identifies the body. She also recants her statement and tells Achia that she has no idea where Mike was that night. She took a sleeping pill and didn't hear him come home.
Achia calls Mike multiple times but gets only his voicemail. Cecilie returns home and informs Angel of Ruby's death. Angel is shattered and calls her friends.
The news of Ruby's death becomes a crime sensation given that Rasmus and Katarina were her employers. In the chaos, Cecilie forgets to pick up Viggo from school.
Viggo calls his dad, who picks him up and drops him off at the house. Cecilie confronts Mike again and demands to know if he is hiding anything. Seeing Ruby's bloated body has scared her straight.
Viggo listens as his parents fight. Mike maintains he is innocent and is not the father of Ruby's child. However, Cecilie doesn't believe him and sends him away.
Later that night, Katarina drops by to apologise and check on Cecilie. She gives Cecilie a pill to calm her down and assures her that Mike is innocent.
Cecilie is heavily affected by Ruby's death, and Katarina asks her to be strong for the kids. On the other side of the house, Viggo tries to talk to Angel, but she sends him away. She is busy planning Ruby's memorial service.
The next day, Aicha ambushes Mike in his office and demands to talk to him. Mike offers to prove his innocence by showing them his office CCTV footage. Aicha asks him to provide a DNA sample to exonerate him fully.
At home, Angel gets another call from her sister asking for more money. Angel lashes out at her and later apologises.
At the end of the day, Mike drops by the house and shows Cecilie the results of his DNA test. Fortunately, Mike is not the father of Ruby's child. He starts going off at Cecilie for not trusting him. Cecilie fights back and asks him to stop acting like a victim.
At school, Viggo refuses to put his phone away. The teacher notices he is watching one of the secret videos the boys have been sharing. He immediately calls Cecilie to the school and shows her the video.
The teacher thought the video was of Angel, but it is a video of Ruby. Someone secretly filmed it in her room while she was dressing after a shower. The teacher tells her more about the video threads. He also calls the other parents into a group meeting.
In the meantime, Ruby's autopsy doesn't rule out homicide or suicide. Carl thinks she committed suicide and wants Aicha to leave it at that. However, Aicha refuses to give up.
She drops by Rasmus's house and notifies him about the body release. Ruby's family wants to bury her in the Philippines, and Rasmus offers to help. He asks Aicha to talk to the press and clear his name. Aicha refuses, and Rasmus offers to do a DNA test to clear his name.
Back at school, the parents' meeting of the four kids involved in the video scandal starts. Katarina is dismissive until Oscar is mentioned as the main perpetrator.
The parents call for Oscar's expulsion, and Katarina loses it. She goes off at the other parents and punches the teacher on her way out.
After the meeting, Katarina tries to approach Cecilie at the parking lot. Cecilie calls her out for her behaviour and asks to put a stop to their sons' friendship.
Speaking of their sons, the scene cuts to Oscar chasing Viggo in the backyard. Oscar tackles Viggo and chokes him, threatening to kill him if he says anything about the video.
Katarina arrives first and picks Oscar. Cecilie finds Viggo in the backyard, looking scared. She tries to talk to him. Viggo mentions the video Oscar showed him and the threat he made.
Unfortunately, he refuses to talk about the video's content. Later that night, Cecilie cuddles Oscar to sleep. After he falls asleep, she heads to the living room. She is startled when someone throws a stone through the window.
The Episode Review
Our suspicion was right; Oscar is into some dark things, and Katarina is in denial. The other parents need to take accountability as well.
This is a serious offence, and the boys need to understand this. At the same time, it is a good thing that Viggo found a way to get the adults' attention. He has been asking to talk, and they have been brushing him off. It was sad that this was the only way he could get their attention.
The DNA test cleared Mike, but it is unclear if his marriage will survive this. Cecilie even brought up his past and accused him of hurting their neighbour's au pair. They no longer trust each other.
With Rasmus being confident enough to provide his DNA, he is most likely innocent. This leaves Oscar as the main suspect. The question is, did Katarina know what he did to Ruby? The way she is defending him is a bit suspicious.

Inside the Love Island villa - new look and groundbreaking launch uncovered

Love Island is back and so is its iconic Majorcan villa - and it's more glamorous, more secretive and surprisingly, more green than ever before. And that's not all that's different this year. On a tour around the palatial pad, executive producer Mike Spence - who has been at the helm for the last ten years - tells us the crew have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure this season is one of the most talked about ever. Mike says: "We're going to give it all we've got. What we have planned for week one has never been done before on any Love Island series ever." Speculation has been rife that a former islander is returning following the drama caused by the jaw-dropping arrival of TOWIE'S Joey Essex during last year's launch. However, Mike confirms the producers have a bombshell of an entirely different making ready and waiting in the wings. "We have a huge week one planned. It's hard to say what we're doing without saying it and I just hope we can pull it off. The way the islanders are coupled up is different too, we've never done it this way before." Squashing a number of rumours about who an early bombshell might be, Mike told us: "Last year I told you something big was happening and we had Joey. This year Joey Essex is not back! "I read Ella Rae Wise [from this year's Celebrity Big Brother] is coming in. She's not. We've not spoken to her Princess Andre either - how old is she? You have to be over 18 to apply. I can confirm we haven't spoken to her though!" Controversial rapper Kanye West and his wife Bianca Censori have also been spotted in Majorca in recent weeks but Mike jokes they aren't high on the list either. "Has Bianca got much chat? I've only ever seen her. To be on Love Island you need to have good chat," he insists. "Who I would have liked to have and who was here on a yacht recently, and is always welcome - Kylie Jenner. Or Kendall! We would take either of them. "[When I saw the photos of Kylie] I thought do we reach out to them and say. 'Do you want a coffee?' I hear Kim is a big fan too. Margot Robbie we'd love to come in. She's amazing and a huge fan. We've spoken to her loads and she's appeared on AfterSun." While the producers have a list of fireworks ready to throw in the villa, one person who isn't in the know is host Maya Jama. "We still don't tell Maya what's going on," says Mike. She's knows some of the first week because we went out last night! And she got it out of me! It's a lot for her to know. We try and be as secretive as possible. There are things in place, like Joey Essex going in last year, to make things happen. Maya didn't know about Joey. It was like a military operation, we were all in a room with the blinds shut plotting." One thing Maya has prepared for though, is her stylish wardrobe which she tells us will be a homage to some iconic fashion moments from the 90s. Maya says: "I can reveal that we're doing archive, vintage 90s runway inspired. The dress I'm wearing now is Versace. The clothes are all vintage archives that my stylists have been hunting down for the last few months. It's stuff that I can't rip or ruin because it has to go back. It's going to be very vintage and everything will have a runway or catalogue reference which is really fun. People message me sometimes on social media asking where to get things. Now I'll say, "you can actually rent this same dress!" "I always think everyone watches the first episode. So that has to be the most special [look]. I like a long floaty dress in the daytime, or something crochet. And maybe I'll be back in the night I do usually do that." After spending a week away with Manchester City beau Ruben Dias on the Amalfi Coast, Maya is ready to plunge head first into work mode. "I'm going to be back and forth [from Spain] this year," she tells us. "It's just been announced that I'm in The Gentleman so we'll be doing bits of that." This week it was confirmed that Maya has landed a part in the new series of the Guy Ritchie led Netflix crime drama which she will be working on simultaneously. But for now, she's ready to welcome the new batch of islanders. "I've told everyone I feel like I'm going back to school again. I say that every time the show starts. It's a new school year and we're getting some new students," she says. Before the class of 2025 prepare to get their graft on, producer Mike who has seen it all since the show first returned in 2015 reveals the pep talk he gives the islanders before making their mark. 'I say to everyone, see Love Island as a once in a lifetime experience. And if you are happy with that then that's brilliant. You should manage your own expectations. "We're not going to say 'You're going to come in this villa, fall in love, be the biggest success story earn 25 billion pounds and life will be great', because you could come in here for a very short amount of time and go back to your normal job. You need to be fine with that. Every islander that goes in now has seen 12 series and two All Stars to gage what happens. They just have to play the game, fall in love and see what happens." And as the show celebrates ten years on air, Mike says the UK's biggest dating show has no plans to settle down anytime soon. "You can't rest on your laurels and think this is popular people love Love Island. We have to keep it exciting. We have the best team they are so good at what they do. This year we thought through every aspect, not tear up the rule book… but also let's tear up the rule book! "The show will continue to thrive. We the producers need to stay ahead of the curve. The whole 'twists and turns' thing is about making the show fresh. This year we have a jaw-dropping cast and killer bombshells coming in. "When we sat down at the start of the year we had a discussion on how to do love island this year - every aspect of the show, lets look at it and see how we can improve it and make it more exciting to the viewer. It's a big commitment - 57 episodes over the summer, we need people to be invested and get interested in the stories. "This year will still feel like Love Island but hopefully a premium version."

A-ha singer Morten Harket has Parkinson's disease

The lead singer of A-ha has revealed he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Morten Harket, the Norwegian synth-pop band 's frontman, released a statement on Wednesday about his diagnosis of the progressive neurological disorder and its effect on his career. The Take On Me singer, 65, admitted he was 'uncertain' about his future as a vocalist as he was 'trying the best I can to prevent my entire system from going into decline'. Harket, a father of five, underwent several rounds of brain surgery last year to manage his physical symptoms of the condition. A lengthy statement published on the band's website on Wednesday, written by their biographer, read: 'In recent years, Morten Harket has also been a man battling his own body. 'This isn't the sort of news anyone wants to deliver to the world, but here it is: Morten has Parkinson's disease.' Harket told the biographer Jan Omdahl that he had wanted to reveal his condition to fans earlier, but that his need for 'peace and quiet to work has been stopping me'. He added that 'problems with my voice are one of many grounds for uncertainty about my creative future'. Symptoms of Parkinson's, which is the fastest-growing neurological condition in the world, include tremor, slowness of movement and muscle rigidity. It is caused by the death of nerve cells in the brain that produce the neurotransmitter dopamine. About 153,000 people in the UK have Parkinson's, but cases are predicted to rise to 172,000 by 2030 as the population ages. 'Managing side effects of medication' 'It's a difficult balancing act between taking the medication and managing its side effects,' Harket explained. 'There's so much to weigh up when you're emulating the masterful way the body handles every complex movement, or social matters and invitations, or day-to-day life in general.' The brand's frontman, who has been performing since the 1980s, said that at the moment, he did not 'feel like singing', explaining that 'for me, that's a sign'. He added: 'I'm broad-minded in terms of what I think works; I don't expect to be able to achieve full technical control. 'The question is whether I can express myself with my voice. As things stand now, that's out of the question. But I don't know whether I'll be able to manage it at some point in the future.' Harket said he had 'taken to heart my 94-year-old father's attitude to the way the organism gradually surrenders: 'I use whatever works''. However, the musician has been making use of advanced technology in treating the disease, including using a method called deep brain stimulation (DBS). The neurosurgical procedure, which he had done in June and December last year, included implanting electrodes into the two sides of his brain. A-ha's biographer wrote that these surgeries 'led to a dramatic improvement in his symptoms'. 'The procedure had the desired effect: with the right electrical impulses now reaching Morten's brain, many of his physical symptoms practically vanished,' Mr Omdahl added. Harket's neurologist in Norway, Dr Christina Sundal, was previously a research fellow with the Parkinson's team at the Mayo Clinic. Mr Omdahl, who observed the lead singer at his summer home in Norway, described the symptoms as a 'never-ending roller-coaster ride'. Discussing his future as A-ha's vocalist, Harket said he 'can't answer' whether his voice is the best he could hope for following the DBS treatments. Impact of dopamine The vocalist, who is known for his unique singing voice and technique, explained: 'When we tune the frequencies and direction of the electrodes, it is also able to affect the region of the voice, but we're not yet able to capture and control it. 'The voice problem comes especially when I take dopamine supplements. If I don't take dopamine, my voice settles down – but then the general underlying symptoms become more pronounced.' The band, which was formed in Oslo in 1982, comprises guitarist Paul Waaktaar-Savoy, keyboardist Magne Furuholmen and lead singer Harket. A-ha have had nine top 10 singles in the UK chart, including the chart-topping track The Sun Always Shines on TV, and seven top 10 albums. Furuholmen said in an Instagram post on Wednesday: 'It is a day of sad news in A-ha world. Having known about Morten's diagnosis for some time does not take the force out of the blow, nor diminish the impact it has had, and will continue to have, on us – as people and as a band. 'Our thoughts are first and foremost with Morten and his family at a difficult time adjusting to the changes that this condition has brought into their lives. 'As the news brings sadness, it is worth to remember through the hurt that there is also a lot of gratitude: for all the amazing memories, for how our combined creative efforts as a band have been so generously embraced by the world, and for how lucky we are that people continue to find meaning, hope and joy in our shared musical legacy. 'All future A-ha-related activities will, of course, be tuned to suit Morten's situation, but together we will work to try and find ways to give you the best of ourselves. Thank you, everyone, for all your support, your kind words and consideration.'

A-ha frontman Morten Harket diagnosed with Parkinson's disease

A-ha frontman Morten Harket has revealed he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. The 65-year-old has been lead singer of the Norwegian band since it was founded in 1982 - and sung the track "Take On Me" which remains one of the most popular songs of the 1980s. In a statement on the band's website, and confirmed by record label Sony Music, Harket said he had undergone several rounds of brain surgery and that he was managing the symptoms of the disease. Parkinson's causes deterioration in the brain's nervous system, leading to tremors and other symptoms that can become progressively worse over time. The disease can be treated with surgery and medication, but there is no cure. Harket said he underwent neurological procedures to have electrodes implanted inside his brain last year and that this had reduced the symptoms. Known for the wide range of his voice, Harket said he did not know if he would be able to perform again. "I've got no problem accepting the diagnosis," he said, adding that it was difficult to balance medication and managing side effects of the treatment. "I'm trying the best I can to prevent my entire system from going into decline," Harket said. Formed in 1982 by Harket and his friends Paul Waaktaar-Savoy and Magne Furuholmen, A-ha saw a global breakthrough in 1985 with their debut album "Hunting High and Low" featuring "Take On Me" and the hit "The Sun Always Shines on TV".
