Is AT&T still a popular choice of network carrier in the U.S., or is it going the way of Verizon and losing subscribers by the hundreds of thousands? The numbers from the first quarter of this year paint a very promising picture for the company and, come July, AT&T will release the earnings report for the second quarter of 2025.Many anecdotal claims have alleged that AT&T , similar to Verizon , is performing much worse compared to T-Mobile. The 'un-carrier' remains a favorite for many new and old subscribers in the United States. People from multiple regions across the U.S. say that T-Mobile 's physical stores are packed with customers, while AT&T and Verizon 's stores look empty.
However, that isn't even half of the full picture. A lot of users don't visit physical stores, and similar claims to the above exist in favor of AT&T stores outperforming competitor locations in other neighborhoods. AT&T has a massive network across the country, with many areas where it provides the best cellular service. While it's quite clear that Verizon is losing subscribers, AT&T is very likely doing quite well for itself, even if it's not as successful as T-Mobile for now.

The earnings report will be released on July 23, and a conference call will be held to discuss the results. Report: Sony won't build any more flagship Xperia phones
Sony had been building its Xperia flagship handsets in three manufacturing facilities. Two of these plants are located in Thailand and one is in China. According to Sony's manufacturing websites, all three of these factories no longer list smartphones among the devices that are built at these locations. The first Xperia flagship to be assembled by a third party is the new Xperia 1 VII. We just reviewed the Xperia 1 VII and gave it a score of 7.2 out of a possible 10. For the second consecutive year, Sony has decided not to ship its flagship smartphone to the U.S. Sony's inability to snag a deal with any U.S. carrier has been one of the big reasons why the Xperia line didn't catch on in the States leading Sony to stop shipping its phones to the third-largest smartphone market in the world. One thing for sure is that having a third-party build the Xperia 1 VII won't result in a lower price for the phone. The price tag on the device reads £1,399 for the model with 256GB of storage. Trump's tariffs will stay in effect until June 9, Apple still in limbo
Shortly after Trump's "Liberation Day" tariffs were announced, the court blocked them, along with the ones imposed when he stepped into office. However, after a subsequent appeal, the tariffs are back in effect, at least until June 9. According to the court, the Emergency Economic Powers Act doesn't grant the president power to control trade. That's Congress territory. But after the ruling today, the tariffs are reinstated until June 9, when both parties are supposed to file their arguments regarding the case, and only then will the court give a permanent ruling. Apple is one of the companies that will take a huge hit, as it has invested heavily in its international supply chain over the years. Reportedly, Apple will potentially lose $900 million in Q2 2025. A lot of uncertainty lies ahead for Apple, and we might see a significant surge in iPhone 17 prices this year. Via
