John Force Looks to Son-in-Law Graham Rahal for Latest NHRA Sponsorship Deal

Yahoo27-03-2025

The John Force Racing NHRA team has gone all in the family, so to speak, for its newest business partnership.
JFR and Graham Rahal Performance today announced that Graham Rahal Performance will be the primary sponsor on Brittany Force's Top Fuel dragster and Jack Beckman's Funny Car for the upcoming NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at the Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway April 11-13.
The deal calls for GRP to be what the team calls a "major associate sponsor" for the rest of the season. GRP will be again featured on both cars for the U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis, August 27-Sept. 1.
The family angle is no secret, as current IndyCar driver Graham Rahal is married to John's daughter and former NHRA star Courtney Force.
Graham Rahal Performance's shop is based in Zionsville, Ind., and focuses on enhancing vehicles with quality performance. GRP was founded in 2017 and offers services for any vehicle, including aftermarket installs, performance package upgrades and track builds to simple, routine vehicle maintenance.
'When John came to me and spoke of the opportunity to be present on the car, it was extremely intriguing for our company,' said Graham Rahal, President of Graham Rahal Performance. 'Our expertise in service, custom fabrication, and our other offerings, align very well with the drag racing community, and we wanted to put that on display. Courtney and I felt strongly that it was in the best interest of our company to partner with John and everyone at John Force Racing, and support both my sister-in-law, Brittany as well as Jack throughout the entire year. We're excited about the relationship with the team, and for the people in the NHRA community to see what GRP can do for them.'
John Force calls the deal a merger of great racing families.
'This partnership fires me up,' said John Force, Founder and CEO of John Force Racing. 'Graham's not just family—he's a racer, a businessman, and someone who lives and breathes performance, just like we do. What he's building with GRP is incredible, and bringing that energy into our pits with Brittany and Jack just feels right. We're not just putting a name on the car—we're bringing two racing families together to push the limits on and off the track.'

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. John Force Racing has announced a new philanthropic initiative in collaboration with The Graham and Courtney Rahal Foundation and Graham Rahal Performance. The partnership will last until the end of the 2025 NHRA season. The initiative, branded Task Force Rahal, is set to support the Optimal BrainHealth for Warfighters program, with the aim of helping active-duty military, families, and veterans who have been affected by traumatic brain injuries and post-traumatic stress. President of GRP and founder of GCRF, Graham Rahal, commented on the new partnership: "We're honored to be able to join forces with JFR to support the Center for BrainHealth for the rest of the NHRA season. Brain injuries change lives – I've seen it firsthand. John Force attends the 2014 ESPY Awards at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on July 16, 2014 in Los Angeles, California. Live on July 16, 2014 in Los Angeles, California."I'm grateful we can use Task Force Rahal to help those on the same journey and ultimately give back to a community that has already given us so much." According to the press release, the new program will focus on "hiring veterans from diverse branches to enable broader in-person training and outreach." John Force, founder of John Force Racing, who is also the father-in-law of Rahal, said the following: "I've watched Graham over the years, and he has always been one to try and help others. This whole concept that he's involved in is to make things bigger and stronger. That's the direction he's headed, and we'll be a part of that by promoting Task Force Rahal on our racecars. It is exciting that fans and sponsors can donate too!" "Having trained more than 6,000 service members and veterans over the past 15 years, we know that the combination of holistic measurement and strategy-based training works," said Jennifer Zientz, Director of Programs at Center for BrainHealth. "We are deeply grateful for the funding that will enable us to continue scaling up this important work." Force suffered a TBI after a crash in Virginia last year. Although he is not back in the race seat just yet, he has made a return to trackside. Providing an update in December, Force explained, as previously reported by Newsweek Sports: "I'm still going to therapy every week and working as hard as I can to get back out there with the sponsors and the fans in a sport I love and I miss. I've still got a lot of things I want to do, so I don't want anybody thinking they've seen the last of John Force. We'll have a lot more to talk about after the holidays."

2025 U.S. Nationals: 16-year-old swimmer Luka Mijatovic sets two new records with historic 400m freestyle

Luka Mijatovic continues to set records at the U.S. Nationals. (Photo by) Luka Mijatovic continues to turn heads at the U.S. Nationals. A few days after breaking a record previously set by Michael Phelps, the 16-year-old Mijatovic was at it again Friday. This time around, Mijatovic decided to break his own record in the 400m freestyle. Mijatovic turned in a 3:45.89 performance, beating his previous record — which he set in March — by three seconds. That time not only set a new record for the 15-16 age group, but also broke a record for the 17-18 age group. Larsen Jensen previously held the record in the 17-18 age group with a 3:46.08 that he set in 2004. Advertisement Mijatovic accomplished the same feat Wednesday in the 200m freestyle. He swam the event in 1:45.92, breaking the record in the 15-16 age group. That figure also broke the record in the 17-18 age group, which was previously held by Phelps. The sky appears to be the limit for Mijatovic, who is considered the top high-school swimmer in California. Mijatovic was already a name to watch for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. His performance at the U.S. Nationals — which began Tuesday — further solidified his status as an Olympic-hopeful. The 2025 U.S. Swimming Championships will run through Saturday at the Indiana University Natatorium. A number of Americans, including Katie Ledecky and Bobby Finke, have turned in fantastic performances at the event. Winners of individual events will qualify for the World Championships in July and August.
