As Reuters reports, he had earlier urged residents to flee the Iranian capital. 'Iran should have signed the 'deal' I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!' Trump wrote on his Truth Social media platform on Monday.
Axios reported the White House is discussing with Iran the possibility of a meeting this week between US envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told Fox News that Trump was still aiming for a nuclear deal with Iran, while adding the US would defend its assets in the region.
As he arrives back in Washington, Trump will be facing competing calls between conservative hawks, seeking immediate US strikes on uranium enrichment facilities, and Maga isolationists, who are demanding he stick to his campaign pledge not to involve the US in new overseas wars.

A raft of new sanctions on Russia's financial, military and energy sectors are a signal to Moscow and an effort to 'keep tightening the screws' during the G7 summit in Canada. They include two UK residents – Vladimir Pristoupa and Olech Tkacz – who the Government say had operated 'a shadowy network of shell companies … funnelling over 120 million US dollars of electronics' to Russia. These high-tech electronics are said to be crucial to Russia's war effort. Also sanctioned is the branch of the Russian defence ministry leading the country's underwater intelligence gathering operations, known as Gugi, 20 oil tankers and three businesses involved in supporting the Russian energy sector. Prime Minister Keir Starmer said: 'These sanctions strike right at the heart of Putin's war machine, choking off his ability to continue his barbaric war in Ukraine. 'We know that our sanctions are hitting hard, so while Putin shows total disregard for peace, we will not hesitate to keep tightening the screws. 'The threat posed by Russia cannot be underestimated, so I'm determined to take every step necessary to protect our national security and keep our country safe and secure.' 'The UK and our allies will not sit idly by whilst Putin's cowardly inaction continues to cost lives.' The UK is also planning to hit Russia's oil revenues by tightening the oil price cap together with other countries. Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky has accepted a US-backed ceasefire proposal and offered to talk directly with his counterpart in Moscow, but his Russian counterpart has so far shown no willingness to meet him.

The Nintendo Switch 2 launched nearly two weeks ago, and it's still proving difficult to find. While some lucky shoppers managed to grab a console from Best Buy or GameStop on launch day, many are still searching. Consoles at Walmart and Target continue to come in and out of stock online, so it's worth refreshing those pages throughout the day. Costco briefly offered next-day delivery for members last week, but delivery has been delayed, so it's now estimated to arrive by June 20. Best Buy even went live online last week, offering the console and bundle for in-store pickup only, but stock vanished within minutes. Since then, it's returned to in-store-only sales, with strict one-per-customer limits and stock varying wildly by location. Below, you'll find the latest updates from major US retailers. Where can you buy the Nintendo Switch 2 in the US? How to buy a Nintendo Switch 2 in the US Nintendo If you want to buy a Switch 2 from Nintendo, the gaming giant is still enforcing its invite-only system. To be eligible, you need an active 12-month Switch Online subscription and at least 50 hours of gameplay on your Nintendo account. Even then, there's no guarantee you'll get an invite. If selected, you'll receive a notification with a purchase window. Invites are still being sent out, but they've been sporadic. For now, the odds are slim, but it's still worth registering interest via the My Nintendo Store. Walmart's online stock continues to come back in and out without warning.
