Pakistan army moving troops towards forward areas: Wing Commander Vyomika Singh
New Delhi [India], May 10 (ANI): After targeting several locations and civilians in different areas in India, the Pakistan Army is now moving its troops towards forward areas, signalling possible offensive intentions.
Addressing a press briefing on Saturday, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh confirmed that the Pakistan Army is moving troops towards forward areas.
Wing Commander Singh asserted that while all hostile actions have been effectively countered with proportionate responses, India has reiterated its commitment to de-escalation, conditional on reciprocal restraint from Pakistan.
'Pakistan Army has been observed to be moving its troops towards forward areas, indicating an offensive intent to further escalation. Indian armed forces remain in a high state of operational readiness, and all hostile actions have been effectively countered and responded proportionately. Indian armed forces reiterated their commitment to non-escalation, provided the Pakistan side reciprocates,' Singh said.
'In a swift and calibrated response, Indian armed forces carried out a precision strike only at identified military targets... Pakistan has also attempted to execute a continued malicious misinformation campaign, with claims of destruction of the Indian S-400 system, destruction of airfields at Suratgarh and Sirsa... India unequivocally rejects these false claims being spread by Pakistan,' she added.
Earlier today, Byker YIHA III Kamikaze drones were recovered in Punjab's Amritsar which were launched by Pakistan in the early hours of Saturday, as per defence officials.
The attacks were launched in several civilian areas of the region leaving their lives endangered. The attempt was thwarted by the Indian Army Air Defence guns at 5 am as the drones were destroyed in the air itself, as per the defence officials.
'Pakistan launched Byker YIHA III Kamikaze drones in Amritsar, Punjab endangering the residential areas of Punjab. The attempt was thwarted by Army Air Defence guns at 5 AM today, destroying the same in the air. The drone was aimed to target civilian areas and innocent civilians,' defence officials said in their statement.
Fragments and debris of unidentified projectiles were also recovered by the locals in Rajasthan's Barmer on Saturday.
Meanwhile, four airbases in Pakistan were hit by Indian strikes in the early hours of Saturday, sources told ANI, as tensions between the two countries continue to escalate.
India launched the retaliatory strikes immediately after Pakistan attacked 26 locations across India. Intermittent firing is still going on at several places along the Line of Control.
Pakistan's attempted retaliation came in the wake of India's Operation Sindoor, where the Indian armed forces targeted nine terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on Wednesday. The operation was a direct response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. (ANI)

Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder: Sonam Raghuvanshi's brother Govind on Wednesday apologised to Raja Raghuvanshi's family and said that he has 'broken all ties' with his sister Sonam. Govind further added that he is '100% sure that she has committed this (Raja Raghuvanshi) murder'. Earlier today, police disclosed that Sonam Raghuvanshi, the prime conspirator in the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, had insisted on proceeding with the killing despite others withdrawing their support. This determination reportedly played a crucial role in the tragic event. Authorities have since arrested Sonam's alleged boyfriend, Raj Kushwaha, along with three contract killers—Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi—in connection with the case. Sonam herself was taken into custody in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, and is currently held at Shillong Sadar Police Station in Meghalaya. Sonam Raghuvanshi's brother Govind visited his sister's in-law's household on Wednesday. At the residence Govind and Raja Raghuvanshi's brother Vipin held a joint press conference. There Govind said, 'According to the evidence found so far, I am 100% sure that she has committed this murder. All the accused in this case are related to Raj Kushwaha. I apologise to Raja's family.' Govind also informed that their family had broken ties with murder accused Sonam Raghuvanshi. 'I don't have an idea if she (Sonam) has confessed to the crime, but I am saying that she has done it. I am with Raja... I will boycott Sonam.' Govind said. "Our parents have also accepted it. They were not aware of the details earlier today. I was in flight. Not only my family but the entire society will boycott her (Sonam). I have apologised to the (Raja's) family. I will always stand with them." he added. Earlier on June 6, Govind had sought a CBI probe into the missing Indore couple's case, and asked Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma to treat it as a case of abduction, and not look for her dead body. Vipin Raghuvanshi, brother of Raja Raghuvanshi, revealed that Govind, Sonam Raghuvanshi's brother, had been in contact with him. He explained that Govind had informed him of his intention to visit his house to make a confession. Govind wanted to admit that his sister had committed a grave mistake and expressed that she deserved the death penalty for her actions. Raj Singh Kushwaha's mother has vehemently claimed that her son is being 'trapped' in the murder case and insisted that he 'could never do something like this.' The 21-year-old, who is alleged to be Sonam Raghuvanshi's boyfriend, was arrested by police for his purported involvement in conspiring to kill Raja Raghuvanshi in May. 'My son is not like that; he can never do something like this. He is very young and used to taking care of his three sisters after his father passed away. He started working at Govind's (brother of Sonam Raghuvanshi) office. My husband passed away in 2020. After that, Raj has taken care of our family,' Kushwaha's mother was quoted as saying by ANI. According to the Meghalaya Police, Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi's wife Sonam (25) was allegedly involved in the conspiracy to murder him with her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha (20). The duo had hired three killers to execute the plan. Raja Raghuvanshi (29) and his wife Sonam got married here on May 11. They went missing during their honeymoon in Meghalaya on May 23. Raghuvanshi's body was found in a deep gorge near a waterfall in Sohra area (also known as Cherrapunji) of East Khasi Hills district on June 2. Sonam and her aides were arrested from Indore in Madhya Pradesh and Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh recently for their alleged role in conspiring and killing Raghuvanshi.

U.S. reaffirms strong support to India in fight against terrorism: State Department
The U.S. reaffirmed its strong support for India's fight against terrorism and the bilateral strategic partnership during the visit of an Indian all-party parliamentary delegation last week, the State Department said. The multi-party delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor met the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau last week in Washington. State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce said at a press briefing on Tuesday (June 10, 2025) that Mr. Landau reaffirmed the U.S.' strong support to India in the fight against terrorism and the strategic partnership between the two countries. The delegation visited the U.S. as part of the government's global outreach efforts after Operation Sindoor. India launched the operation in retaliation to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. Responding to a question, Ms. Bruce said that a Pakistani parliamentary delegation led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met officials of the State Department, including Under Secretary for Political Affairs Allison Hooker, during its visit to Washington last week. Ms. Hooker reiterated the U.S. support for the ongoing cessation of on-ground hostilities, '— as you might imagine, thank God — between India and Pakistan', Ms. Bruce said, adding that they also discussed important issues about the U.S.-Pakistan bilateral relationship, including counterterrorism cooperation. 'So that meeting occurred.' When asked if the U.S. received any assurance from Pakistan that it will take action against terrorists, Ms. Bruce said she was not going to discuss the details of those conversations. In response to a question on President Donald Trump offering to 'mediate' on the issue of Kashmir, Ms. Bruce said, 'Well, I — obviously, I can't speak to what's on the mind or the plans of the President. What I do know is that I think we all recognise that President Trump in each step that he takes, it's made to solve generational differences between countries, generational war." Ms. Bruce added that it should not "surprise" anyone that he would want to "manage" something like that. 'So, while I can't speak to his plans, the world knows his nature, and I can't speak to any details of what he might have in that regard…But it is an exciting time that if we can get to a point in that particular conflict..," Ms. Bruce said adding that it is a "very interesting time'. India has rejected any mediation related to the dispute on Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan and maintains that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are and will always remain an "integral" part of the country.
