Rochelle Humes stuns in Next's linen co-ord hailed as 'perfect'

Daily Mirror2 days ago

The tailored set consists of a waistcoat and either a skirt or a pair of city shorts
Rochelle Humes looks absolutely stunning in her latest Next campaign, where she's seen modelling a chic new summer collection. The latest drop features tailored pieces in lightweight materials that are ideal for summer in the UK and on holiday abroad.
A blue, textured, linen co-ord, as modelled by Rochelle, is already proving to be popular with shoppers who have praised it for being 'flattering' and 'perfect'. The TV presenter and pop star wore the powder-blue tailored co-ord with kitten heels and oversized earrings.
The set is made from linen, so it's suitable for summer wear, ensuring consumers will not feel overly hot. It includes a longline sleeveless waistcoat (£39) with tortoise shell buttons—available in sizes 6-20.
And then, prospective buyers can either choose from a longline skirt (£34, in sizes 6-22) or a pair of city shorts (£26, in sizes 6-22). The waistcoat and the skirt seem to be the most popular, with the most reviews.
Similarly, New Look is selling an on-trend butter yellow co-ord as part of its summer collection. It is made up of a tailored pair of wide-leg trousers on sale for £34.99, and a matching bandeau waistcoat priced at £35.99 - it is also available in black and white colour options.
Back to Rochelle's Next co-ord, a shopper said they have received lots of compliments on the waistcoat, explaining: "Lovely waistcoat and very flattering. Received so many compliments. It's washed well, too."
Another had issues finding their right size, writing: "Sizing too big for a size six horrible, it's so massive. Lovely quality but too big size six fits a size 10 person."
For shoppers after a boho-inspired co-ord look to Nobody's Child where this Blue Tie Dye set is offered. It comprises a bow-tie cami with spaghetti straps (£49) and a matching long, floaty skirt (£99).
Back to Next's linen co-ord, another fashion fan wore the waistcoat with jeans instead of buying the full co-ord and said it 'looked brilliant'. Adding: "Very comfy to wear and a perfect length for me."
There are also rave reviews for the longline skirt. A buyer complimented its 'beautiful colour' and lightweight material, but had a gripe, adding: "If I had one downside it would be that it is long. I'm 5ft 4 and had to turn the waist strap up one."
Another shopper concluded: "Omg! Perfect linen skirt for the summer! Long, loose and cool. Very flattering and perfect length (I'm 5ft 4in and it rests just above my ankle. Perfect with a pair or wedges and a floaty top! Love it and will wear it to death!"

Faye Winter's floral midi dress is on our Wimbledon outfit wishlist and £125 off

Faye Winter wore a Karen Millen floral midi dress to the Royal Windsor Horse Show recently, and we've already got our eye on it as a perfect Wimbledon outfit now it has £125 off It's almost time for Wimbledon to kick off, and if you're planning on heading courtside, you'll need an outfit to suit the occasion. Although Wimbledon has a smart casual dress code, it's no secret that guests love to make an effort with their looks, and we've found the perfect midi dress that nails the brief. The Karen Millen Rose Embroidered Cotton Organdie Midi Halter Dress was spotted on former Love Island star Faye Winter as she attended the Royal Windsor Horse Show in May, and it would be perfect for the tennis event. Fans were quick to praise Faye's look on Instagram too, with one writing: 'Where is this dress from @faye__winter it's beautiful.' Another agreed: 'Wow, that dress is adorable you look absolutely stunning love you Faye,' whilst others added: 'Stunning!!! That dress' and 'Love this dress.' Usually priced at £359, it's currently on sale with 35% off, slashing the price down to £233.35 and saving you £125.65. Whilst it's admittedly a splurge, the chic floral midi dress is perfect for all kinds of occasions, from events like Wimbledon, to evening dinners on holiday, garden parties and even the office with a simple clever swap of accessories and shoes. The Embroidered Midi Halter Dress ticks all the boxes for Wimbledon; it comes in a breezy white 100% cotton fabric that's floaty, lightweight and breathable, and features contrasting red rose embroidery giving it a British garden theme. The halterneck has a collared neckline and button up front, giving it a modern, feminine twist. Its flattering cut is thanks to the fitted bodice and flared skirt which has a slight A-line silhouette. The addition of a tie belt letting you choose whether to cinch in your waist for a defined look or leave it loose (or removed altogether) for a more relaxed fit. If you want a more fitted silhouette, New Look's Red Rose Print Halterneck Mesh Midi Dress is £32.99 and has a classic slip design, with spaghetti straps and a figure hugging fit. It features a white and red rose print, with mesh overlay and a cowl halterneck that's flattering on all bust sizes. For a slightly more laidback look, Joe Browns' Rebecca Roses Vintage Printed Midi Dress is £50 and has a vintage-inspired tea dress silhouette. The short puff sleeves are perfect for giving a little more coverage, whilst the subtle V-neck, shaping around the bust and shirred waist at the back create a comfortable, flattering fit. However if Faye's stunning Karen Millen Embroidered Midi Halter Dress is your top pick, now is the time to get your hands on it. Size 16 has already sold out, but you can still get it in sizes 6 to 14.

Major fashion retailer with 180 UK stores confirms it will shut ‘favourite' shop in just DAYS

A MAJOR fashion retailer with 180 UK stores has confirmed it will shut one of its 'favourite' shops in just days. The store creates product ranges across women's, men's, kids, footwear and accessories. 2 2 The outdoor-inspired clothing retailer FatFace has revealed that its store in Queensgate Shopping Centre will close permanently on June 15. A notice in the shop window states: 'Thank you for shopping in our Peterborough store. "Our last day here is 15 June 2025.' The closure comes 20 months after FatFace, which was founded in 1988, was acquired by the leading clothing retailer Next, headquartered in Leicester. FatFace announced a pre-tax loss of £3.2 million last October, which was in part attributed to costs related to the acquisition. Sharing the news on the We Love Peterborough Facebook group, shoppers reacted to the closure. The post said: "I have to say it's shame to see that Fat Face will be closing down in Queensgate. "After speaking with someone in the store for confirmation, I'm afraid that they are not moving to an alternative location either, they are closing permanently for us. "Is this a shop that you shopped in? If you want anything, you'll need to get it quick as it closed in a couple of week's time." Members of the group were quick to comment and one replied: "Another decent store closing, might as well knock Queensgate down, just not worth going into town these days." Popular retailer to RETURN 13 years after collapsing into administration and shutting 236 stores Another disappointed shopper added: "Queensgate is doomed. "First John Lewis then M&S, there's nothing left there now. "They should have left flagship stores alone. It used to be a good place. "The whole city feels tawdry and dirty. I don't go there anymore." Why are retailers closing stores? RETAILERS have been feeling the squeeze since the pandemic, while shoppers are cutting back on spending due to the soaring cost of living crisis. High energy costs and a move to shopping online after the pandemic are also taking a toll, and many high street shops have struggled to keep going. However, additional costs have added further pain to an already struggling sector. The British Retail Consortium has predicted that the Treasury's hike to employer NICs from April will cost the retail sector £2.3billion. At the same time, the minimum wage will rise to £12.21 an hour from April, and the minimum wage for people aged 18-20 will rise to £10 an hour, an increase of £1.40. The Centre for Retail Research (CRR) has also warned that around 17,350 retail sites are expected to shut down this year. It comes on the back of a tough 2024 when 13,000 shops closed their doors for good, already a 28% increase on the previous year. Professor Joshua Bamfield, director of the CRR said: "The results for 2024 show that although the outcomes for store closures overall were not as poor as in either 2020 or 2022, they are still disconcerting, with worse set to come in 2025." It comes after almost 170,000 retail workers lost their jobs in 2024. End-of-year figures compiled by the Centre for Retail Research showed the number of job losses spiked amid the collapse of major chains such as Homebase and Ted Baker. It said its latest analysis showed that a total of 169,395 retail jobs were lost in the 2024 calendar year to date. This was up 49,990 – an increase of 41.9% – compared with 2023. It is the highest annual reading since more than 200,000 jobs were lost in 2020 in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced retailers to shut their stores during lockdowns. The centre said 38 major retailers went into administration in 2024, including household names such as Lloyds Pharmacy, Homebase, The Body Shop, Carpetright and Ted Baker. Around a third of all retail job losses in 2024, 33% or 55,914 in total, resulted from administrations. Experts have said small high street shops could face a particularly challenging 2025 because of Budget tax and wage changes. Professor Bamfield has warned of a bleak outlook for 2025, predicting that as many as 202,000 jobs could be lost in the sector. "By increasing both the costs of running stores and the costs on each consumer's household it is highly likely that we will see retail job losses eclipse the height of the pandemic in 2020." Another added: "I absolutely love this shop! I'll be sad to see it go, a real shame and another loss for Peterborough shipping centre." "I only go into Queensgate to get my nails done and pop in Fatface. I'm really sad it's closing. Nowhere to get clothes for my age now," said another. "Another one bites the dust sadly. Love fatface," said a fifth dissapointed shopper. While another poster wrote: "Fat Face have also closed in various locations from Aberdeen to Sheffield to Gloucester this year. "Anyone thinking retail clothes stores closing is just a Peterborough thing is sadly mistaken. Same happened with John Lewis and Marks and Spencer on a bigger scale. "We have a new occupant imminently for the old John Lewis store, and new shops like Sostrene Greene that people can't find it in themselves to be positive about, it's easier to moan I guess." The news comesafter IKEA revealed yesterday that it is shutting another UK store in just a fortnight's time after 'lessons learned' amid a customer backlash. And that a major high street name is pulling the plug on one of its stores in just two weeks. It's already
