Man wearing ‘sheriff' hat accused of impersonation, swindling GA businesses
A Georgia sheriff's office arrested a man they said tried to represent himself as one of their own.

The Bulloch County Sheriff's Office said that on April 16, it began receiving complaints and concerns about a person visiting their businesses and asking for financial donations for ads to be published in magazines and coloring books.
After looking into the complaints, deputies identified the suspect as Terry Allen Damstra.
Officials said Damstra is from the Grayson, Ga. area, but was conducting activity for a company in Texas.
BCSO said he would introduce and represent himself as being from the sheriff's office. According to authorities, he would wear a black hat with 'sheriff' embroidered in bright yellow letters. Witnesses said he also wore a 'pullover' type shirt with Bulloch County Sheriff's Office embroidered on the chest.

The following day, Damstra was arrested and charged with 15 counts of impersonating a public official or officer and one count of possession of marijuana.
The BCSO said Damstra is not an employee or affiliated with the sheriff's office.

Georgia man drowns after caught in Gulf rip current
Authorities in Florida said a 47-year-old Georgia man died Sunday after drowning in the Gulf of Mexico. The Gulf County Sheriff's Office said on social media that Timothy Franklin was swimming with a family member when he got caught in a rip current. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Deputies responded at about 2 p.m. to an emergency call about a possible drowning in the 3800 blook of Cape San Blas Road in Port St. Joe. They found emergency personnel from Gulf County EMS and South Gulf Fire Rescue engaged in life-saving efforts that ultimately proved unsuccessful. The Gulf County Sheriff's Office said 'it is grateful for the numerous members of the community that have wrapped themselves around the Franklin family to provide support during this incredibly difficult time. This is a heartbreaking incident, and the family remains in our thoughts and prayers.' A GoFundMe has been started on the family's behalf, according to media reports. Driver pulls out knife on couple driving too slow in Kennesaw neighborhood, police say
Ten miles below the speed limit: that is what one driver told Kennesaw police drove him to pull a knife during a road rage incident in the Legacy Park community. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] 'He said the reason why he was agitated was because the driver was going 25 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone,' explained Ofc. David Buchanan about why 55-year-old Giancarlo Russo is accused of pulling a knife on his neighbors during a road rage incident. It happened in Kennesaw in the Legacy Park neighborhood. A husband and wife got to a stop sign to find the driver, Russo, behind them was outraged, when he blocked their car with his own. 'The offender pulled in front of them and blocked them, got out of his car, he was holding a knife and was threatening towards them,' Buchanan told Channel 2's Candace McCowan. 'He was trying to get the male driver out of the vehicle to instigate some type of altercation or fight. The victim stayed in the car, got away safely, and called us.'
