Relebohile Mofokeng has put Orlando Pirates on his back time and time again, contributing twenty-three goals and assists this season.

Bafana's Broos praises Pirates youngster ahead of friendly fire
'His game is very mature. He takes good decisions,' said Broos, according to News24. Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has praised Orlando Pirates defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi ahead of the upcoming international friendlies against Tanzania and Mozambique. Bafana's Broos – 'A good defender' 'His game is very mature. He takes good decisions,' said Broos, according to News24. 'He is a good defender … not tall, but he wins aerial duels … (and is) good in build-up play when attacking.' The 19 year-old Mbokazi became a regular for Pirates this year under Spanish head coach Jose Riveiro, and has now earned his first Bafana call-up. Broos has selected seven first-time call-ups, with Mamelodi Sundowns' players unavailable due to their participation in the upcoming Fifa Club World Cup. Mohau Nkota, Deano Van Rooyen and Simphiwe Selepe are also new to the Bafana squad from the Buccaneers. Orlando Pirates came short in their push for the Betway Premiership title. There were a few factors, but one isn't talked about enough. When Thabiso Sesane was cut down with a serious injury, nobody knew how profound an effect that event would have on Pirates' title charge. On paper, central defence is arguably the team's deepest resource with Tapelo Xoki, Olisa Ndah and Nkosinathi Sibisi as options. However, Ndah has battled injuries and both Xoki and Sibisi have suffered dips in form. The late-season emergence of an outstandingly gifted teenager, Mbekezeli Mbokazi, has been a huge boost, but none of the club's existing centre-halves have Sesane's unique skill set. The 25-year-old was quietly and effectively becoming the marshal of Pirates' back four. It's hoped that he'll be fit in time for the early stages of the 2025-2026 campaign.
