Henry Pollock tipped to fly high on the biggest stage by Lions boss Andy Farrell

Pollock made his Lions debut as a replacement in the 28-24 defeat by Ireland that opened the tour and has now been promoted to number eight for Saturday's first fixture on Australian soil against Western Force in Perth.
At 20-years-old the swaggering Northampton back row is the squad's youngest player and less than six months ago he was playing in the Under 20 Six Nations.

Maro Itoje described his England team-mate as a 'pest' when he was called into the senior camp during the Championship and Farrell has urged him to remain fearless.
'Henry's not been a pest, definitely not! He's been great,' said Farrell, who has given Pollock permission to continue doing his famous try celebrations.
'He's hungry to learn and that's perfect because you can see that he's got a real point of difference.
'He sees things quickly and acts upon that. His line running is pretty good. His awareness of space, how sharp he is in his mind and his athletic abilities are up there with the other lads in the squad.
'He's hungry to make a difference the whole time. But he also understands what parts of his game he needs to improve. He's got a great attitude.
'He's certainly not overawed. I mean, I love that. You want kids to be themselves and he's just being himself. He doesn't know any different.
'But he's a humble kid as well. He doesn't think he's got it all, far from it. You want people with confidence and belief because that helps when he takes the field.
'You don't want a kid to go under the radar and in three weeks' time just settle into a side. You pick him for a reason.
'He's a Lion just like the eldest player. There's no difference whatsoever. His character is infectious to everyone. He's a great lad.'
Itoje led the Lions against the Pumas in Dublin but the England captain has been stood down against the Force, resulting in Ireland hooker Dan Sheehan being placed in charge with Scott Cummings and Joe McCarthy forming the second row partnership.
'It's a matter of giving people a chance. If leaders of the squad fall over along the way you have got to have plans,' Farrell said.
'We have got a lot of good second rows and Maro is a team player, he knows people have to get going and people have to show their hand as well. That competition will make him and the rest of the players fight a little bit harder.'
Finn Russell, the early favourite to take the fly-half duties for the first Test against the Wallabies on July 19, makes his first appearance of the tour, forming a half-back partnership with Tomos Williams.
'Finn's game understanding and game control are top drawer. He has an ability to see space that allows him to think quicker than most,' Farrell said.
Hugo Keenan, Jamison Gibson-Park and James Ryan are all expected to recover from minor injuries in time for Wednesday's clash with the Reds while Toulouse full-back Blair Kinghorn should arrive into camp on Monday.

Negri excited by Ipswich Championship challenge

Ipswich Town goalkeeper Natalia Negri hopes returning to the Championship next season will be a major step towards her goal of playing at the highest levels of the women's 20-year-old joined Town last summer after appearing in 10 games to help Crystal Palace win promotion to Women's Super she made it successive titles as Joe Sheehan's side reached the second tier by lifting the Women's National League Southern Premier trophy."Imagine back to back to back, that'd be pretty cool. Maybe I'm a lucky charm in the team," she told BBC Radio Suffolk."I want to get my career as far as I possibly can. I've got high aspirations - I know how far I can go, I just need to make sure I stay on the same path that I want to be on."This season [2024-25] has been a massive step towards my end goal. I would love to get into the seniors with England - (although) I'm part Spanish and Italian and am actually eligible to play for both of them." Ipswich's decision to move their home base from Felixstowe to Colchester United FC next season should again boost the profile of Joe Sheehan's side and hopefully mean larger said she had "fallen in love" with Town since her arrival, winning the Golden Glove for 14 clean sheets last season."I've never been at a club that's made me feel this confident as a player," she said."Winning the Championship with Palace was great but for me that was a massive thing - to see it come through the post. I couldn't go to the ceremony to pick it up, but I loved getting that award." Ipswich must wait until 25 July to find out who they will face first in the Championship, which will put her in opposition to Palace, who were relegated from the top flight in April, but have a new head coach in Jo Potter."For the women's side of the club to grow, we needed to get that promotion under our belt, there was a lot of pressure on us to do that," she Negri was speaking to Jaz Taylor

John McEnroe refuses BBC request as Wimbledon great speaks about Nick Kyrgios

Nick Kyrgios will not play at Wimbledon for the third successive year, with the controversial Aussie having not played at SW19 since reaching the 2022 final, where he was beaten by Novak Djokovic John McEnroe insists he regrets that controversial star Nick Kyrgios will again miss Wimbledon - after the BBC tried to stop the tennis great from speaking about the axed Australian. Kyrgios reached the final at SW19 in 2022, losing to Novak Djokovic. But he has not played at the Championship since. ‌ Last year he was part of the BBC commentary team, but will not return in that role this year, despite having been forced to pull out of this year's tournament with a knee injury. Indeed, Kyrgios' long-term future is in question, after only playing four matches this far this year. ‌ I asked three-time Wimbledon winner McEnroe if he will miss Kyrgios at Wimbledon this year, McEnroe said: 'I don't know what Nick's doing. Is he playing?' But a BBC press officer swiftly stepped in, telling McEnroe: 'Sorry, John, you don't have to go into your personal feelings with Nick Kyrgios.' But the often-outspoken American, who remains no shrinking violet at the age of 66, ignored the advice and continued, declaring: 'I'm okay talking about Nick Kyrgios. If anyone's heard me talk about Nick Kyrgios, it's in the sense that I would prefer to see him playing, because he's one of the most talented guys that I've seen on a tennis court. "In any sport watching and especially someone who's playing the same sport I play, you always try to maximise, hopefully, what you can accomplish. I didn't feel like I did. And so you put a lot of pressure on yourself. "And so it's sort of a shame that he hasn't been able to figure out the way to do that. We all have problems with that, but it's too bad. I don't know why he's not playing.' ‌ Kyrgios won't be the only major talking point missing at SW19 this year. Line judges are out, replaced by Electronic Line Calling for the first time. McEnroe said: 'And as far as linesmen, I don't even know how to answer that, because I had an obviously long history of linesmen, but it seems like if they have electronic equipment that works, that's preferable. "As fast as the balls are being hit, to expect human beings to be able to get everyone right is a big ask, even for someone who complained a lot about it. ‌ 'Do I wish I'd had electronic line calling at Wimbledon? Yes, I do. Actually. I'd have less white hair, and I might have a little more and I would have wasted less energy on that I presume. Maybe I would have been more boring. "I wouldn't have been here, speaking to you now, and I wouldn't have been commentating. So I got to look at the bright side. 'But there's something in the interaction that you miss, I believe, and there's something about that that I think people will miss. "But it's also nice to know if, in fact, it's accurate, and hopefully it's 100% accurate, or 99.9% I don't know what it is - you hate to have that find out later that a call that was made on match point was not accurate, that would be truly infuriating.'

East Kilbride v Dunfermline: Mick Kennedy says top opposition friendlies will serve side well for League Cup

The League Two side will face the Pars on Saturday before facing Hearts behind closed doors East Kilbride players started their pre-season training this past week and Mick Kennedy's men will be thrown straight into a tough test this weekend. The Lowland League champions and newly-promoted League Two side welcome Neil Lennon's Dunfermline Athletic to K-Park for their first pre-season friendly on Saturday afternoon, ahead of a clash behind closed doors against Premiership side Hearts. ‌ Kilby are being thrown in at the deep end, but Kennedy insists it is required ahead opening competitive action at home to championship side St Johnstone on July 12 in the Premier Sports League Cup. ‌ On Saturday's test, which is a 3pm kick-off, the Kilby gaffer said: 'It will be the first pre-season friendly for both of us so it will be interesting. I believe Dunfermline have been away for a warm weather training camp so I am sure they will be well-prepared. 'To be fair to our boys, they've come back in great shape so it will be a good test. It is about trying to bed the new boys in, in terms of our philosophy because it will be different to what they are used to. 'Dunfermline and Hearts are difficult games to bed them in, to be honest, but it is a good environment for them to test themselves. ‌ 'Neil is trying to build a new team and at the early stages of rebuilding so we'll be interested to see what kind of team he plays. I imagine what team he plays on Saturday and what team starts the season for them will be very different. 'A full-time and Championship club coming here is a great test. We wanted to play against top opposition to prepare us for the League Cup. 'The Hearts game has been sorted, but it is behind closed doors so there will be no fans. That game will be a tough one for the boys.'
