After 18 years of heartbreaks and near-misses, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have finally lifted their maiden IPL trophy, defeating Punjab Kings in a thrilling IPL 2025 final. But beyond the roar of the crowd and the fireworks at at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, one of the most iconic images of the night was

The couple, glowing with joy, stood side-by-side, holding the trophy that had eluded RCB for nearly two decades. While the celebration was all about the team's long-awaited triumph, it was the emotional embrace between
and
that truly stole the spotlight.
Moments after the win, Virat spoke to
, who highlighted the deeply moving moment he shared with his wife. 'For all the joy that you've given, the moment which will stay etched in my memory is your eyes overflowing with emotion and you hugging your better half.
She stood by you, thick and thin,' said Sidhu.
Kohli, clearly moved, responded, '100%. She's been coming here, supporting RCB since 2014. So it's been 11 years for her as well — relentlessly coming to games, watching us just miss out. What your life partner does for you — the sacrifices, the commitment — backing you through thick and thin, is something you can't explain in words.'
He further added that only professional players truly understand what partners endure off the field.
'What Anushka has gone through emotionally, watching me being down and out… She's a Bangalore girl too. This is very, very special for her, and she's going to be so, so proud.'
As the final ball was bowled and RCB's historic win was sealed, Anushka sprinted to the ground and wrapped Virat in a tight hug. Kohli broke down in her arms, sobbing tears of joy as she gently consoled him, brushing his head and holding him close. In a tender moment of gratitude, he kissed her forehead — a quiet celebration of love, resilience, and shared dreams.

Earlier, Anushka was seen in the stands, visibly anxious during the high-pressure final. Her pained reaction to Kohli's dismissal quickly went viral, reflecting the emotional toll the game took on her too. Moments later, her joy knew no bounds as she jumped in celebration, joined by her family.
Virat and Anushka's journey together began in 2013 on the sets of a commercial shoot. The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Italy in December 2017 and are now proud parents to daughter
(born January 2021) and son Akaay (born February 2024).

Hyderabad Police Commissioner posts ‘what if' scenario after Bengaluru stampede deaths

A day after 11 stampede deaths in Bengaluru during the celebration of Royal Challengers Bengaluru's victory in the IPL final, Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand took to social media to post a 'what if' scenario. The trigger was the frenzied celebrations late into the night across parts of Hyderabad as soon as the RCB won the match. Large crowds gathered on the NTR Marg stretch, Tank Bund, and Necklace Road, prompting a swift police response after the situation turned chaotic. 'What if there were some deaths in Hyderabad too? Can anyone expect celebrations for RCB in Hyderabad city?' wrote Mr. Anand on X (formerly Twitter). Watching and hearing about the stampede in Bangalore made me wonder where we are going ! This is not a national team winning the World Cup ! It's a mere franchise called RCB which works on commercial lines and does not have a single Hyderabad player in it !? Traffic came to a standstill in multiple directions and instances of hooliganism were reported. Police rushed additional forces and carried out a lathi-charge to disperse the crowd,' shared Mr Anand. ' He articulated how impromptu celebrations triggered and choreographed by social media for the unlikeliest causes could be dangerous. 'This is not a national team winning the World Cup ! It's a mere franchise called RCB which works on commercial lines and does not have a single Hyderabad player in it !? It's not even a #Hyderabad based team,' wrote Mr. Anand. 'But with the social media playing a huge role across the country and the globe, perhaps police has to be alert for everyone and everything in future! Is it humanely possible to do so,' he concluded his post on X.
