Gamers anticipate Nintendo Switch 2 in North Haven
NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Video game fans spent hours camped outside of GameStop in North Haven on Wednesday, anticipating the release of the Nintendo Switch 2.
Excited gamers wrapped around the building, hoping to get vouchers sold by the store starting at 3 p.m. The vouchers could be used to purchase the console starting at midnight.
Which stores are hosting midnight releases for the Nintendo Switch 2?
'It's a lot of nostalgia for us Nintendo junkies,' said Northford resident Timothy Deantonio. 'We all love Pokemon and Mario and Zelda.'
Some customers waited in line with others in mind.
'For my son, his birthday is next week and he's a big fan of Switch, Nintendo just all the way around,' said Marcia Tourangeau of New Haven.
Others are looking forward to using the device to spend quality time with their families.
'I think Nintendo just offers a family-friendly gaming system that my kids from 5 to me can still enjoy the titles that they put out,' Justin Messina of Hamden said.
The Switch 2 replaces the original Nintendo Switch that debuted eight years ago.
The new model has improved graphics and display and starts at $449.99.

Keep the panel somewhere safe while you're connecting cables, as you'll need to put it back on later. 2. Connect the HDMI cable to your display (Image: © Tom's Guide) Plug one end of an HDMI cable into the middle port on the dock (it's clearly marked and sits between the other two ports). It is priced at $499.99, excluding taxes. The retailer will begin selling the console online the following day, Friday, June 6.
