Mt. Juliet police recover stolen motorcycle with help of Guardian Shield
MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — Utilizing Guardian Shield license plate recognition technology, the Mt. Juliet Police Department arrested a man and recovered a motorcycle that had been reported stolen.
In a social media post, the MJPD said that the technology alerted officers that the motorcycle — which had been reported stolen out of Nashville on May 11 — was entering the city from Nashville along Central Pike.
Officers pursued a prevention plan and stopped the suspect, a 29-year-old Joelton man, before he was able to flee. Upon further investigation, the man reportedly had an indefinitely suspended license and had been wanted out of Smyrna on drug-related charges.

Suspect sought for aggravated arson among ‘Most Wanted' fugitives in Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man wanted for aggravated arson is the latest man to be considered one of the 'Most Wanted' fugitives in Nashville by the Metro Nashville Police Department. The MNPD Criminal Warrants Division updates the list of 'Most Wanted' fugitives each week on its Facebook page. The list features the people who have evaded capture by law enforcement and are considered the top most wanted by the department. According to Metro detectives, those featured on the list are often considered to be some of the 'most violent' offenders in the city. Since the list debuted in October 2022, more than 165 people featured have been apprehended or surrendered to law enforcement, including those captured out of county or even out of state. In 2025 alone, there have been more than a dozen arrests of those featured on the 'Most Wanted' list, with 68 arrests in 2024. | READ MORE | Below is a list of suspects who made the 'Most Wanted' list for the week of June 4, 2025. According to police, Dadiri Muhina, 24, is wanted after being indicted by a federal grand jury on multiple felony counts. His charges include first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, solicitation to commit first-degree murder, attempted murder and tampering with evidence. Court records show the charges stem from a September 2021 shooting that killed 16-year-old Ja'Niya Birdsong and injured another 17-year-old. Family members told News 2 that multiple young men were involved in an argument with the two teens before shots rang out. Birdsong died at the scene in her grandmother's Paragon Mills driveway. She was a junior at Hillsboro High School and hoped to become a hairstylist, according to family. While initially the only link to a suspect was a light-colored sedan seen leaving, six people — including Muhina — have since been identified. As their investigation progressed, detectives said they found text messages between the suspects regarding their plans to destroy the car used in the alleged homicide. Muhina and the other suspects are also accused of conspiring to hire someone to kill a witness. Raceme Crutcher, 23, has been on the run from police for more than a year after he was named one of two suspects in a deadly Fourth of July shooting in 2023. Officials said the shooting happened at the Fallbrook Apartments on Dellway Villa Road. Etabo Malanda, 16, was reportedly standing on the porch of an apartment when two armed individuals came from around the corner and confronted him. Malanda allegedly tried to pull out a pistol that was inside his hoodie, but he was shot first. Police said he died shortly after he was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Assistant district attorney charged with domestic assault According to investigators, four guns were recovered from the apartment, including one that was reported stolen. Crutcher and 17-year-old Jaylin Brown were reportedly connected to the crime through witness accounts. Investigators also obtained surveillance footage and additional information from community members that they said pointed to Crutcher and Brown as suspects in the case. Officials believe the motive may have been an ongoing dispute between the suspects and Malanda. Brown was taken into custody on Aug. 31, 2023, after police said they caught him driving a stolen car. Crutcher, however, is still on the run. He was added to the 'Most Wanted' list more than a year ago, on Nov. 15, 2023. His last location is unknown. De'tynn Smith, 21, is wanted for first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, aggravated robbery and committing a felony with a dangerous weapon. 4 in custody after crashing into La Vergne home He was previously featured on the 'Most Wanted' list in 2023, even earning the 'Top Most Wanted' designation from MNPD on March 8, 2023. He has previous criminal history in Nashville, including an indictment on a felony theft charge and felony carjacking charge in 2022. He was also indicted for a misdemeanor, evading arrest in 2022, according to court records. His last location is unknown to police. Devon Martak, 39, was added to the list at the end of 2024. He has previous convictions for drug possession, unlawful weapon possession, driving on a suspended license and reckless driving; he also has a 'no contest' plea for an aggravated sexual battery charge in 2022. According to authorities, Claybrooks is wanted on grand jury indictments for aggravated statutory rape and rape by force or coercion. His last location is unknown to police, according to MNPD. Making his second appearance on the list this week is Christopher Brown, 50. According to Metro police, Brown is wanted on two counts of aggravated rape while armed with a weapon or object. The charges stem from a grand jury indictment, according to Metro. Police said his last location is currently unknown. Yudel Ordunez, 52, has spent several months among Nashville's 'Most Wanted' fugitives. He was first added at the beginning of January. According to Metro police, Ordunez is wanted on grand jury indictments for rape without consent and three counts of sexual battery by an authority figure. Ordunez was last seen in West Nashville, police said. Anthony Howland, 38, was added to the list Feb. 12. According to Metro police, Howland is wanted for vehicular homicide while intoxicated and for his first vehicular assault offense. 4 run from stolen vehicle after crashing into La Vergne home
LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Four juveniles were taken into custody after a stolen vehicle crashed into a home in La Vergne early Wednesday morning. Officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Jennifer Pierce Drive around 1:45 a.m. Springfield kidnapping determined to be a prank The stolen Kia Soul was then located near Dick Buchanan Street. The Kia fled from officers before it crashed into a home on George Buchanan Drive, according to La Vergne police. Four juvenile suspects ran from the crash scene but were located and taken into custody with coordinated efforts of patrol officers and K-9 teams, according to the department. The suspects reportedly admitted to stealing the vehicle and to their alleged involvement in multiple vehicle burglaries in the area. All juveniles were taken to the hospital for medical clearance before they were taken to the Rutherford Juvenile Center. ⏩ This incident highlights the quick response, coordination, and dedication of our team to public safety. Human trafficking suspect arrested after investigation at Nashville motels
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man was arrested Tuesday following an investigation into a human trafficking operation based out of Nashville motels. According to court documents, special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation conducted an investigation in December 2023 into a human trafficking operation at Super 8 in the 800 block of Murfreesboro Pike and Somatel Nashville Airport Hotel on Metroplex Drive. 📧 Have breaking news come to you: → During this investigation, officials spoke with two women who claimed they were recruited in Venezuela and smuggled to the United States. Once in Tennessee, the women were reportedly forced into engaging in commercial sex to pay off 'fines' of $20,000-$30,000. Arrest documents detail how the women were sex trafficked under the direction of several people, including Kleiver Daniel Mota-Rivero and Yilibeth Del Carmen Rivero-De Caldera –who were indicted in February for their roles in a Middle Tennessee-based sex trafficking operation. Tuesday, officers arrested a third person — 25-year-old Ramon de Jesus Velasquez-Martinez — for his role in a similar operation involving Mota-Rivero. According to reports, one of the women said between November 2023 and February 2025 Velasquez-Martinez sent commercial sex clients to her motel rooms, took the money earned from these interactions and frequently took her cellphone to monitor who she was in contact with. RELATED: Several Venezuelan nationals indicted for role in Middle Tennessee-based sex trafficking ring The woman told authorities that in 2024, she escaped the trafficking operation and moved to Miami to work at a restaurant. Velasquez-Martinez reportedly showed up at her workplace and threatened her with a gun to go with him while making comments about her children back in Venezuela. Court documents said after this interaction she returned to Nashville with him and was forced back in to participating in commercial sex acts. During the investigation authorities reportedly found 26 advertisements for commercial sex posted in Nashville which featured Velasquez-Martinez's phone number as the main point of contact. Authorities said thousands of text messages were recovered between Velasquez-Martinez and other suspects regarding commercial sex clients, advertisements and firearms. ⏩ Velasquez-Martinez is charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felony trafficking for a commercial sex act. According to Davidson County Sheriff's Office records, he is being held on an ICE detainer and a $150,000 bond.
