This app tells me I'm going to die 5 times a day, and I love it

Matt Horne / Android Authority
Over the last couple of weeks, I've been showing friends a notification on my phone. It simply reads, 'Don't forget, you're going to die.' Most of them immediately responded by looking at me with a mixture of confusion and concern. I like to let that look sit for a moment before explaining what's going on.
Far from suggesting that I'm unraveling mentally, these notifications are from an app that wants me to cherish life. It's called WeCroak, and it sends me five of these identical notifications each day at random times between 7 AM and 10 PM. When each arrives on my screen, I can tap it to open the app, where a new quote about death greets me. This could be from a philosopher, a poet, a movie star, or anyone. But that's just a bonus feature for me — I'd be happy enough with the notifications.
The idea is as simple as it is clever. If you're regularly reminded that our time on this mortal coil is short, you should learn to appreciate the small things and seemingly mundane moments more. That could be the coffee in your hand, the sun on your face, or a friendly smile from a stranger. The mantra behind the app comes from a piece of traditional wisdom in Bhutanese culture, which holds that, 'To be a happy person, one must contemplate death five times daily.'
I've found it very effective. I'm lucky enough to have a relatively comfortable and positive life compared to the next guy, but it's easy to find yourself going through the motions day to day. How easy it is to wish away the work week on a Tuesday, forgetting that we only get around 4,000 weeks on this planet. Whether I'm trying to decide if I have the energy to go to the gym or I'm picking out fruit in a supermarket, the notifications always make me pause to appreciate my lot in life. I'm not religious or spiritual, but we can all relate to the fleeting nature of our existence.
If you find yourself doomscrolling for hours or grumbling about a coworker all day under your breath, give this app a try. It doesn't track you, has no social features, and doesn't gamify anything — it just casually delivers an eerie message, and hopefully encourages you to remember what is and isn't important. Just don't blame me if your friends initially give you an odd look.

Morgan Stanley Expects 5.5 Million More iPad and iPhone Units Combined, Maintains Overweight Rating on Apple (AAPL)

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is one of the 10 AI stocks that Jim Cramer and analysts are watching. On June 13, Morgan Stanley maintained an Overweight rating on AAPL shares and kept its $235 price target. The firm reported that 'deep' 618 Festival channel promotions in China are driving higher-than-expected iPhone and iPad sell-through for the June quarter. The firm now anticipates approximately 3.0 million more iPhone units and 2.5 million more iPad units than previously forecast, which could translate to a $4 billion revenue increase, assuming no other changes. The analyst noted that September quarter builds are tracking in line or slightly better. A wide view of an Apple store, showing the range of products the company offers. It is worth noting that on June 9, Mad Money's host said: 'Hey, finally there's a stock that people now love to downgrade… I'm talking about Apple. I expect to hear some downgrades tomorrow because of today's supposedly ho-hum Worldwide Developers Conference… But what the critics seemed to be missing constantly is that the only question I heard was upgrade or not. Did you hear switch? I didn't hear switch. As long as I didn't hear switch, I'm going to hold the stock… Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) designs and sells consumer electronics that include smartphones, computers, tablets, wearables, and accessories. The company is engaged in providing subscription services such as Apple Music, Apple TV+, and Apple Arcade. It also operates platforms, including the App Store and Apple Pay. NTT has lodged preliminary prospectus to list REIT on Singapore Exchange

By Yantoultra Ngui SINGAPORE (Reuters) -Japan's Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp (NTT) has lodged a preliminary initial public offering prospectus for its data centre real estate investment trust NTT DC REIT on the Singapore stock exchange, according to information published on the Monetary Authority of Singapore's website on Friday. Reuters reported on Wednesday that the company was looking to lodge the prospectus with the Singapore regulator as early as this week and list on the Singapore Exchange as early as July, citing two sources with knowledge of the matter. The prospectus did not disclose the IPO amount but the two sources had said in January it could be worth up to $1 billion in what would be the largest in Singapore in several years. The prospectus also did not say when the IPO would be launched. NTT did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment on Friday. The last listing of similar size was a $977 million IPO for Digital Core REIT in 2021, LSEG data showed. The IPO portfolio comprises six data centre assets located in the United States, Austria and Singapore, with a total appraised value of about $1.6 billion, according to the preliminary prospectus. The sponsor of NTT DC REIT is NTT Ltd, which is part of Japanese telecommunication giant NTT. Cornerstone investors include Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC and private investment and asset management firms such as AM Squared Ltd and Viridian Asset Management Ltd, the prospectus showed. Cornerstone investors are large institutional investors that subscribe to an IPO offering before it is open to the public. There is growing interest from companies seeking to list on the Singapore Exchange, after the city-state announced measures in February to strengthen its equities market, including a 20% tax rebate for primary listings. Hong Kong-listed China Medical System said on Tuesday it had applied for a secondary listing of its shares on the Singapore Exchange. IPO proceeds raised on the Singapore Exchange surged more than five-fold to $331.6 million in the first half of this year, from $59.3 million the same period a year ago, LSEG data showed.
