Antonio Brown, the former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver known as much for his controversies as his football legacy, is now facing an attempted murder charge stemming from a violent altercation outside a Miami boxing event.
According to an arrest warrant issued on June 11 and reported by the Associated Press, Brown allegedly retrieved a handgun during a confrontation and fired two shots at a man he previously fought with.

The victim, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, stated one of the bullets grazed his neck. The incident occurred on May 17, and while Antonio Brown was briefly detained by police that night, he was released shortly after. The legal proceedings intensified when the warrant was made public in mid-June.
Despite the serious charge, Brown is not currently in custody. Just days after the warrant's release, the 36-year-old was spotted overseas. Initially claiming he was in Iran, Brown's social media posts — including a photo in front of a Buka Boxing banner and a now-deleted video with a red McLaren — place him in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Brown claims he was the victim of an attack. 'I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry… I went home that night and was not arrested,' he said.

City Comptroller and Democratic Mayoral candidate Brad Lander was arrested by federal agents at an immigration court Tuesday (June 17, 2025) after he linked arms with a person authorities were attempting to detain. A reporter with The Associated Press and other journalists witnessed Mr. Lander's arrest at a federal building in Manhattan, the latest confrontation between U.S. agents and a Democratic politician objecting to the Trump administration's mass detention and deportation programs. Mr. Lander was released from custody after a few hours. The U.S. attorney's office said it was investigating his actions and would decide later whether to charge him with a crime. The immigrant Mr. Lander escorted out of the courtroom was also arrested. Mr. Lander had spent the morning observing immigration court hearings and told an AP reporter he was there to 'accompany' some immigrants out of the building. His confrontation with agents unfolded quickly. As a group of agents moved in to detain a man who had exited a courtroom, Lander locked arms with the immigrant and demanded to see a judicial warrant. VISAKHAPATNAM: The CPI Maoists in the Andhra Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee (AOBSZC) received a severe jolt as its Central Committee member and AOBSZC secretary, Gajarla Ravi alias Uday, and AOBSZC member and East Division secretary, Ravi Venka Chaitanya alias Aruna, were killed in an encounter. Another cadre, Anju, was also killed close to Kintukuru village, between the Maredumilli and Rampachodavaram areas in Alluri Sitarama Raju district, in the early hours of Wednesday. Police sources confirmed the death of the Maoists, although an official announcement is yet to be made. Security forces spotted a group of 16 Maoists near Kintukuru village, between Maredumilli and Rampachodavaram. After a 25-minute exchange of fire, security forces found three dead bodies and identified them as Uday, Aruna, and Anju. The remaining members were said to be escaped from the area and combing operations are going on in the area. It is recalled that the same squad escaped twice from the security forces' combing operations in AOB in the past couple of months. Who was Uday? Uday's wife Jameela, was also killed in an encounter. Aruna, a native of Karakavanipalem in Pendurthi mandal on the outskirts of Visakhapatnam, joined the Reds almost two and a half decades ago. Her brother, Azad, Galikonda Area Commander, was also encountered in 2015 in Koyyuru mandal. According to sources, she was suffering from serious health problems.
