What color should you wear on a first date? Matchmaker reveals surprise answer to land the person of your dreams
What's the color of love?
A matchmaker revealed the different colors men and women should wear on a first date — and why.
Maria Avgitidis, the CEO of Agape Match, an award-winning matchmaking service based out of New York City, shared the colors she's seen attract the most wanted attention.
From her own experience as a single woman, Avgitidis found that green works well to attract compliments and positive attention for the woman wearing it.
'This strategy makes sense in terms of color theory. Green is vibrant, it's welcoming, it literally means 'go' across cultures and it's associated with life, growth, luck, and health. Who wouldn't want to spend time with someone wordlessly exuding these characteristics?' she told the Daily Mail.
'It doesn't hurt that green is also a universally flattering color.'
For men, Avgitidis recommends wearing something more unexpected — lilac.
She claimed that: 'Light purple generally gives off a friendly vibe, and women in particular like it when men seem approachable and safe — like they could be friends.'
The matchmaker said she typically sees men beaming with confidence when she compliments a man in this color.
But wearing the wrong color could hinder your romantic prospects.
Sorry New Yorkers and goths, but the top shade to avoid wearing on a first date is black.
Avgitidis claimed that while the popular neutral shade can be viewed as 'sophisticated' it's also, well, dark.
'Wearing black is a missed opportunity to spark a positive feeling from someone you're just meeting,' she said.
In the same vein, the matchmaker also advises against white and gray.
Instead, if green or lilac aren't in your closet, opt for blues and yellows.
And although red is commonly thought of as hot and sexy, the relationship expert suggest keeping that red dress in your closet for a first date.
'Red is not the right color for a first date when you're just trying to get to know someone and possibly start a relationship down the road,' Avgitidis said.
Save it for the second date.
'Ultimately, dating color theory isn't just about catching the eye of someone special, it's also intended to help you walk through the world with your own internal confidence,' Avgitidis said.
'Your posture improves, your smile is brighter, you flirt with abandon, you become the very best version of yourself.'

Dr. Martens Adrian Loafer Is Made to Move in the Concrete Jungle
So fresh and full of finesse, that's the New York City style scene. Where prints and patterns run wild and shoes and silhouettes pack nearly as much personality as their owners – if not more – and no one blinks an eye because that's the way of the concrete jungle. There's no room to judge your neighbor for their fashion tastes. There's only space to express yourself freely through style. New Yorkers and even the transplants they love to hate – and rightfully so – deserve threads that match their energy and feets that keep up with them from borough to borough. Perhaps that's why the city's booked, busy and best-dressed take to suave yet sensible silhouettes like the Dr. Martens Adrian Tassel Loafers, because they don't cramp either their lifestyle or style: they complement it. Dr. Martens signature loafer silhouette may not seem like the perfect fit for a city-certified 'fit. But that's the thing about NYC, there are no rules and no limits to style or self-expression. Any average New Yorker can rock the classic shoe style, now available in a Cherry Red Arcadia colorway, to the train or to the latest IYKYK Lower East Side spot where they can loiter, catch a vibe, without ever looking out of place while always looking like themselves. These DM mainstays are designed with the everyday city slicker in mind, whether they walk on the wild side, style-wise, or keep it casual but cute, not wanting to do too much but just enough. For every native New Yorker and their besties, what's 'a lot' and 'what's not' looks different, though there's no right or wrong answer. Both classic camo jeans with a striped mohair sweater or a pleated skirt with a preppy polo, pair well with the staple shoe, offering that effortless off-duty model vibe even when you're on the clock. This iteration of the Adrian Tassel Loafer can take any look to the next level – from a crisp white cami and carpenter shorts to a jean jacket and oversized chino shorts – thanks to the Arcadia leather that subtly fades away as you wear the loafers to reveal a contrasting, bold cherry red base color. One that simultaneously appears in the shoe's tassels, apron and moc-toe. And just like how no two true NYC style savants bring the same flair to their fly, no two pairs of the Adrian Tassel Loafers are quite alike either – with the deep red leather hue emerging more and more as you wear the shoe. Despite this new twist to DM's iconic design arriving this year, the loafer dates back to the 80s, when the British brand first released the disruptive yet distinctive silhouette. Since then, Dr. Martens has toyed with the shoe style, introducing new iterations like the Adrian Bex Smooth Leather – a platformed alternative – and the Adrian Yellow Stitch Smooth Leather – for the ones that like to play it safe while still serving a look. Although Dr. Martens hails from a cozy county in England, the Adrian Tassel Loafers leave their mark all the way across the pond in NYC – into the closets of those who make the city their catwalk – even when it's just their everyday. Shop the Adrian Cherry Red Arcadia Tassel Loafer today – and all iterations of the staple silhouette – starting at $150 USD online at and in Dr. Martens retail stores.

Meghan Markle Finally Releases Date To End Lifestyle Brand As Ever's Hiatus
Meghan Markle has finally given her As Ever loyal customers a reason to rejoice! The Netflix star has released a date for a new batch of products for her teeming customers to indulge in and enjoy after an impressive performance on her first drop. Meghan Markle launched her lifestyle brand As Ever in March 2025. The comprehensive brand covers home goods, food products, and several lifestyle items. The Duchess of Sussex dropped very shocking but exciting news for her fans, who have long awaited an announcement of a full restock. According to her, a new date for fresh As Ever products is less than a week away. She made the announcement with an aesthetically pleasing post on her Instagram story, featuring pancakes stacked on a plate and glazed in fresh honey with strawberry toppings. "Are you on our list? Don't miss out, June 20 at 8 a.m. PT," she wrote on the post. The Duchess doubled down on her interesting move in a bigger post on her brand's official page. "Oh yes, things await. Mark your calendars for June 20 at 8 a.m. PT - we're bringing back your favorites, plus some delicious surprises you won't want to miss!" the brand declared in the warm caption. Before her latest joyful news, the actress gushed to her fans about the success of her first drop and the huge role they played in it. The Daily Mail reported that she described selling out all her products in under one hour as an "amazing surprise." "First off, a sincere thank you for making the debut of As ever absolutely extraordinary," Meghan wrote in the opening sentence of the newsletter. She then proceeded to inform them that on "June 20, we're going live with the products you love – plus some new delicious surprises." Meghan did not forget to inform the fans how much of her time, energy, and, most importantly, "love" had gone into bringing her "new delicious surprises" to life. Earlier in the month, she set the stage for the arrival of her new product by informing fans who had been "wondering and waiting" that new drops were returning, along with a few new things she couldn't wait to show her loved ones. The Blast reported that the businesswoman is settling into her life as a founder nicely and is also picking up crucial lessons along the way. According to her, during a podcast discussion with Tina Knowles, she got candid about putting production on hold to ensure that everything was in order before restocking. She also analyzed the daunting terrain of making a profit from homemade products and making them appealing enough for purchase. Meghan addressed the systemic processes required for her products to meet regulatory standards, including extensive rounds of testing for quality assurance. She referred to the process of creating her jam and how, despite scaling it, she still had to struggle with managing expectations for success. Despite the massive success catching her by surprise, Meghan concluded that the best way to bounce back with impact was to take her time and ensure stability before proceeding. Beyond achieving success as an entrepreneur, Meghan also hoped that her creations would tell a distinct story to customers and consumers. As she earlier stated, her decision to become a mogul was inspired by her personal journey. However, with growth also comes low moments, where an entrepreneur like Meghan must reach out and rely on the strength of their friends and family to continue. In her case, being exposed to bouts of unwarranted public opinion on her every move has made it necessary for her to seek regular reassurance from those who matter in order to regain lost confidence. "You still have to be able to have someone you can go to be human and say, 'I don't know. Can you just tell me that this makes sense?'" Meghan noted. In response, her team members reportedly assured her they were on the right track, an opinion which left sweet thoughts in Meghan's mind. Apart from finally satisfying her customers with new products, Meghan has also activated the hospitality aspect of her lifestyle brand and is about to trademark it for "hospitality services." Her plans reportedly include providing her clients with accommodation options, as well as food, drinks, and even temporary lodging services. Her future clients may even get to indulge in the richness of her recipes, which she showcases on her Netflix special "With Love, Meghan." Brand strategists have described this new move as the perfect way for her to open up a new frontier in her lifestyle business. It reportedly shows a deep desire to also refurbish her history as a defiant royal who left the affluent life behind for a bigger hustle. On the flip side, her doting husband is now catching the heat for reportedly refusing to let the past stay exactly where it is and move forward like his partner.

Billie Eilish Wears String Bikini on Vacation in Barcelona
Much like Dua Lipa before her, Billie Eilish is currently living her best life on vacation. The singer has been hanging with friends in Barcelona, and was just spotted taking a nighttime dip in the water while wearing a red string bikini. FYI, the Daily Mail has the pics! Billie's Barcelona trip comes just days after she was spotted in Venice all-but confirming her relationship with Nat Wolff by kissing him on a balcony. A source told the Daily Mail shortly after that "the relationship between Nat and Billie was a long time coming. It was based on an initial friendship from years ago and a trust that turned romantic and they couldn't ignore the chemistry, with both diving in headfirst. They hang out loads, they have toured with each other, vacationed together and he's been in her music videos. Becoming a couple was the next logical step. They are both very close to their families which is one big reason why they work. They're almost the same person and have many similarities." The insider added that Billie "doesn't have the worry that Nat is out for fame, as he already has his own." Billie and Nat met back in 2023, became fast friends, and before long Nat starred in Billie's video for "CHIHIRO." He and his brother Alex then opened for Billie during the Hit Me Hard and Soft tour, relationship rumors started heating up in March, and they've been vibing ever since!
