THE Kaiser Chiefs pulled off the loan transfer coup of the summer - in front of thousands of delirious fans.
Leeds ' promotion-winning striker Patrick Bamford joined the rockers' homecoming gig on stage with a guitar.

Kalvin Phillips heightened talk of a return to Elland Road by labelling his former team-mate a "legend" for his cameo.
Bamford electrified the atmosphere at Leeds' Temple Newsam still further as the crowd loved his surprise cameo.
The Kaiser Chiefs are best known for their massive hit I Predict a Riot. which was also the theme tune for the Whites' party after Championship title glory.
But no-one predicted Bamford's appearance at the gig on the 20th anniversary of the group's first album.
The 31-year-old, who won a single England cap four years ago, also went down memory lane - or Elland Road - with his choice of shirt for the event.
He wore a Leeds top from 2000-01 with 'Viduka 9' on the back.
Ex-frontman Mark Viduka, 49, had his longest spell in English football with the Whites - from 2000-2004.
And he too reacted to Bamford's guitar-playing cameo.

But it's just possible Viduka was referring to the hitman's kit rather than his musical ability as the Aussie posted: "What a privilege."
Bamford's effort was all the more remarkable as it followed Leeds' prolonged celebrations, including a trip to Vegas, after they pipped Burnley to the second-tier crown.
Inside Leeds stars' wild title celebrations as Bamford and Ampadu 'leave Burnley fanbase in meltdown' with karaoke song
Daniel Farke's side are returning to the Premier League after two seasons out.
And many reckon Phillips will be making his own comeback - to Elland Road.
The 29-year-old has had a dire three years away after joining Manchester City, typified by injury and then mediocre loan spells at West Ham and Ipswich.
Phillips bigged up Bamford on Instagram as he responded to the star's rocking intervention by posting: "What an absolute legend".
That's also the status Phillips had at his hometown club Leeds.
But the anchorman he could be out for two months following surgery on an Achilles problem.
And for now Wham Bam is the man - thanks to the Chiefs.
One fan raved: "Crowd were amazing and a lot of fun was had! Cameo performance from P Bamford an absolute highlight!!'
Another wrote: "Great day out at what was a mini-festival more than a gig. Kaiser Chiefs were amazing, bringing Patrick Bamford and the Championship trophy out on stage added to a very Leeds-centric gig (so many LUFC shirts there)."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's engagement photographer reveals how the couple really acted towards each other during the shoot

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 's engagement photographer has revealed how they really acted towards each other during the shoot. In a video posted to TikTok, Alexi Lubomirski, 50, recalled taking the Sussexes' official portraits for both their engagement in November 2017 and wedding the following May. The father-of-two, who was born in the UK but now is based in New York, was already known for his glamorous portraits of Hollywood and royalty. The star photographer is also a prince of the Polish House of Lubomirski, whose royal lineage stretches back 500 years on his father's side and gives him the title: 'His Serene Highness'. Even so, when he received a call from Kensington Palace shortly after news of Harry and Meghan's engagement was announced, he thought he was being 'pranked'. As part of his 'reshoot' series, where he revisits old photoshoots from the archives and explores the stories behind them, Alexi recently decided to share a glimpse into what it was like behind the scenes of his famous shoots with Meghan and Harry. Two weeks after receiving the call, Alexi travelled to Frogmore House at Windsor to meet Harry and Meghan. Reflecting on the experience, he recalled how the nearly-weds were so in love that they were 'glowing' and 'twinkling'. He said: 'At one point I watched them as they were talking and sitting next to each other. 'Every time one of them spoke, the other one would look at them and literally glow. 'And it was so beautiful to see, you know when you are sitting next to a couple who are freshly in love or have some amazing news. 'They were just glowing, and they would just look at each other and there would be this twinkle.' Alexi had prepared some reference photos of other royals to use as inspiration but decided to 'forget' about them when he saw how the couple interacted. '"I just want to photograph you guys as you are," he recalled telling the couple. 'All the magic is there in front of me'. Alexi moved on to talk about each image from the shoot individually, and paused to reflect on a black-and-white picture of the couple. The candid image, later used on magazine covers around the world, shows Harry gazing at his bride-to-be, while Meghan is wrapped in his coat with her ring on show. Alexi said it was 'deathly quiet' on set as the chemistry was so strong between the couple it looked like they were about to kiss - something not typically shown in official royal photographs. He explained how he managed to influence the moment to capture the perfect shot. Alexi said: 'I said, "make sure you don't kiss!", which made them laugh. There was this moment of laughter between them, and it was so beautiful. 'I was so excited to get that picture, because it was a beautiful moment. 'These pictures just went everywhere. I was so shocked with how far they went.' Alexi and his wife Giada were later invited to Harry and Meghan's wedding at St George's Chapel in Windsor in 2018. A month later, he was asked to do the official portraits, explaining he felt a 'lot of pressure' as his name was confirmed to the public in advance. The day itself, he said, was 'bizarre' due to the constant cameras, but also 'amazing' and 'beautiful'. He remembered taking a formal picture of the whole family, with Harry and Meghan at the centre, surrounded by the Queen, Prince Phillip, Prince William, Kate and the royal children. Later, he took photos of Harry and Meghan alone in the rose garden. 'It was their first moment as a married couple where they were just alone, and there was a sense of relief and beauty and joy,' he said. The ceremony was watched by almost two billion viewers worldwide and hordes of well-wishers lined the streets of Windsor to catch a glimpse of the newlyweds. In a statement released after the engagement shoot, Alexi said: 'It was an incredible honour to be asked to document this wonderful event, but also a great privilege to be invited to share and be a witness to this young couple's love for one another. 'I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took of them, such was their happiness together'. Alexi is a firm favorite with celebrities, and has shot cover stars such as Julianne Moore, Angelina Jolie, Demi Moore, Beyoncé, Charlize Theron, Gwyneth Paltrow, Natalie Portman, Jennifer Lopez, Selma Hayek, Katy Perry, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Aniston, Emilia Clarke, Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman and Scarlett Johansson. The photographer was born in England to a Peruvian/English mother and a Polish/French father and at the age of eight, he moved to Botswana with his mother and English stepfather. He was introduced to star photographer Mario Testino and joined him in Paris as his assistant for four years and has worked regularly for Vogue and Harpers Bazaar. He has also published books including 'Princely advice for a happy life' - a tribute to his two sons - and 'diverse beauty' about models not usually used in fashion magazines and campaigns. All proceeds from his books are donated to the charity Concern Worldwide - which fights world poverty - of which Alexi is an ambassador. The photographer had never done an engagement shoot before taking on the prestigious commission from Harry and Meghan. 'It was one of the easiest, most joyful jobs because they were so deliciously in love,' he told E! News. He added that there was no effort needed to capture the couple in a variety of romantic poses, after telling them to just be themselves while he took their pictures. 'It was nutty. It was a very surreal end to the year because it came out of nowhere,' he recalled. 'I think one of Meghan's friends saw me on Instagram that I was in England during the announcement of the engagement. 'I was told later that this person said to her, "You should meet Alexi. He's great. You'd love him", and that was it.' Prince Harry and Meghan Markle later stepped down as senior members of the royal family in 2020, and subsequently moved to the US. They currently live in Montecito, near Santa Barbara, in California, with their two children Archie, seven, and Lilibet, three. In 2021, Alexi later took the photograph of the family for their Christmas card - the first to be publicly released of Lilibet. The Duchess, 43, has herself in recent months launched a series of new projects, including a cookery show with Netflix, her own lifestyle brand, a podcast - as well as returning to Instagram for the new year.

Freddy Brazier defies dad Jeff Brazier by posting new TikTok with nan Jackiey after family legal action and 'weed smoking' row

Freddy Brazier defied his dad Jeff Brazier by sharing a newTikTok on Tuesday which included a picture of his nan Jackiey Budden amid the family's legal war. The picture was from the day Freddy and Jackiey were spotted smoking suspicious cigarettes after their recent reconciliation, despite his dad Jeff's war to block contact. The 20-year-old has reportedly been living with his grandmother for the past week and clearly shares a close bond with her. Freddy was seen puffing with his gran, 68, in front of tourists near Tower Bridge in South London, after Mail On Sunday revealed Freddy had been living with his maternal grandmother for a week. He cut a casual figure in a burgundy top and beige shorts while Jackie wore her own joggers rolled up to her knees and sported bandages on her hands, with onlookers telling The Sun that she was 'acting erratically'. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Freddy Brazier defied his dad Jeff Brazier by posting a new TikTok on Tuesday which included a picture of his nan Jackiey after legal action and 'weed smoking' row amid dad Jeff's legal war to keep the pair apart They told the publication: 'The pair were puffing away in the open, in full view of tourists passing by and there was an aromatic smell in the air. It didn't seem to be normal tobacco they were smoking'. Meanwhile Jackiey said: 'As long as Freddy smokes with me he's safe. At least I know what he's smoking as it's nasty out there.' Freddy then took to his TikTok with a video of himself and Jackiey performing a trend as they danced alongside a female pal to a song which shockingly used the N word. The lyrics said: 'She's my n****r for a reason, I can tell her for a reason, because I know that she'll keep them and nothing will come between us'. MailOnline have contacted Bobby and Jackiey's reps for comment. Freddy lost his mother Jade when he was just four years old after she died from cervical cancer in 2009, and has since been raised by his dad Jeff. Jackiey and Jeff have clashed multiple times over the years, and it was revealed last month the TV star is taking action in an attempt to legally block contact between his son and his grandmother, 'to keep him safe'. Mail On Sunday revealed that Freddy, who was restricted from seeing Jackiey by his dad after he filed court paperwork, spent last week at her home in Bermondsey, after reuniting despite his father's efforts to keep his son away. Family friends say the duo remain 'extremely close,' explaining: 'Jeff was never going to keep Freddy away from his Nanny for very long – they've always had a strong bond 'Jeff may hate her for all sorts of reasons going back many years, but Freddy loves her very much. 'They had a great time together, playing with her dog and catching up at her flat – where he has often stayed over the years. 'Whatever Jeff hoped to achieve with his legal efforts, it hasn't worked.' The Sun On Sunday also reported that Jeff now has a court date for his legal battle with Jackiey. It has sparked a vicious war of words between the pair, with furious Jackiey saying she knew nothing about his legal bid before it was leaked to a newspaper – and insisting that Freddy, who is now 20, is old enough to make his own decisions. And sitting down with The Mail afterwards, she raged: 'I could ruin him if I wanted to. I just need to make sense of it all. I only found out about this court business when he told the newspapers about it – he didn't even tell me himself. 'He's never liked Freddy being with me. He says it's because I smoke and give him drugs. Listen, Fred was fully involved when he was with his dad. I'm talking about drugs; that boy had his first bit of weed at fourteen. 'He never took a puff at my house until he was 16. I smoke with him, but he was safe with me because I knew what he was smoking; it was in my house. 'There have been issues for a few years ago Jeff has been trying to stop Freddy from seeing me, but he's 20 years old now and he has to be allowed to make his own decisions and do what he wants to do for himself. 'He used to lie to Jeff about where he was, but about a year and a half ago I asked 'Does your Dad know you're here?' and he just replied Yes,' and said he was sick of lying about it.' But this weekend Freddy returned to his grandmother's home, in a move likely to infuriate Jeff who has long disliked Jackiey's close relationship with late Big Brother star Jade's sons. Freddy and his older brother Bobby remained close to the 67-year-old after their mother's tragic death from cancer in 2009, aged just 27. The family feud was highlighted again in 2023 when Jeff insisted Jackiey should not attend the BBC Strictly Come Dancing studios where Bobby was competing. Her notable absent came after a period of estrangement, but she and Bobby later reconciled. It's understood the young EastEnders actor was heartbroken to be caught in the middle of the disagreement between his father and grandmother – telling friends the feud was 'extremely hurtful'.

On England's unchanged XI: "I like the balance we've got at the minute. We've got a lot of depth with the bat which gives us opportunities to chase scores like the other day when we had a tough start. We've got a good bowling unit too. I'm looking forward to what the future brings." Update: Date: 13:11 BST Title: England win the toss and bowl Content: West Indies captain Shai Hope has called incorrectly and so England have won the toss. Harry Brook has said England will bowl first at The Oval, which makes sense given we can expect rain disruption. Update: Date: 13:03 BST Title: Post Content: Well, that's the idea in theory, Matt. Traffic sorted, onto the next issue... we've got a decent chance of rain disruption. It's not raining at the moment - the England players are still engaged in a pretty lengthy game of group head tennis on the outfield - but the forecast has a high chance of rain through the next three hours. The possibility of precipitation reduces after that, but we're not entirely clear until pretty late in the evening. South London can breathe easily. Update: Date: 12:54 BST Title: Post Content: I just searched our photo provider for "West Indies coach" and have been offered snaps of Steve McClaren and Dwight Yorke, who were managing Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago respectively in a football tournament at Brentford at the weekend. Wrong type of coach... Update: Date: 12:50 BST Title: Post Content: Matthew HenryBBC Sport journalist at The Oval You'd be forgiven for calling this a shambles. The match has been delayed because West Indies were stuck in heavy traffic en route to the ground from their hotel 3.5 miles away. England have been here a while but the visitors did not appear at The Oval until around 12:40 - 10 minutes after the toss should have taken place. They have still not emerged to do some proper warm-ups. We're told the toss will be at 13:10 BST with the match beginning at 13:30. It could be raining by then. Update: Date: 12:48 BST Title: Post Content: Ah, so as I finished writing that, the West Indies team started filtering onto the changing room balcony, and we've been told the toss will take place at 13:10 BST. The match was due to start at 13:00 BST but that has been pushed back half an hour. Update: Date: 12:45 BST Title: Post Content: Look, we've all been there. You've hauled yourself out of bed, hopped in and out of the shower so fast the water's barely touched you, hurried out the door with your shoes untied and your shirt on backwards... but you're on time, you'll make it... Until you hit traffic. And that's what's happened to the West Indies today - their coach has been somewhere on a clogged road in South London. So we've got a delayed toss for the third and final ODI at The Oval.
