Furious flier throws tantrum over mom and newborn: ‘It's like a trend to hate babies'

Yahoo15-05-2025

One single mom was all set for a breezy two-hour flight to Portugal with her baby girl when a fellow passenger decided to kick up a mid-air stink over sitting next to the little tot.
The mother, allegedly from the UK, recounted her turbulent trip in a TikTok video last week that's since racked up nearly 35,000 views.
'When I was in the line to get on the airplane, I felt this lady's eyes [on] me and I'm just thinking, have I got a nipple hanging out? Do I have two heads? Do I look like an alien? Is my baby giving you the middle finger? Why are you looking at me?' the user Daisy (@lavenderandmama) quipped.
Daisy said she tried to shake off the feeling as she took her window seat, but her plane neighbor, who'd been assigned the dreaded middle seat, wasn't having it.
'How am I supposed to sit in the middle seat next to you and your baby?' the flier asked, according to Daisy.
The reason the baby didn't have its own seat was that, supposedly, it's a rule on most British airlines that if a baby is under a certain age, they can be seated on an adult's lap for the duration of the flight.
'I don't know, mate, sit down, grab a beer, enjoy the view over my baby's head, relax, it's only two hours,' Daisy shot back.
Not satisfied, the woman demanded her husband switch seats with her — as he was sitting a few rows back.
After the woman's husband sat down next to Daisy and her baby — the little bundle of joy bonded with him, which only led to more in-flight drama.
'My daughter became attached to him,' Daisy said.
But when the wife demanded that her hubby move back closer to her, the little one had a 'huge meltdown' over him leaving.
Despite the chaos, Daisy managed to score some unexpected solitude.
'…I was winning because [my daughter] fell asleep and I had the whole row to myself,' she said. 'They were squashed in like sardines at the back of the plane.'
Daisy's TikTok clip had viewers divided.
'I'd sit next to you and would offer help if needed,' one user commented. Another quipped, 'It's like a trend to hate babies, and it's so weird. Babies are lovely.'
But not everyone agreed.
'Why are you surprised that people don't want to sit next to a baby whilst in an enclosed space for several hours with nowhere to escape?' one user sniped.
Daisy's drama comes after another new mom's viral TikTok showed the lengths she went to keep the peace onboard, handing out goody bags stuffed with treats and an apology note that read, 'It's my first flight … I might cry if I get scared or if my ears start to hurt.'
TikTok user @callmebelly posted the sweet clip, which has been viewed over 5.6 million times.
But while some praised her for going the extra mile, others found it heartbreaking.
'Dear new parents: No, you don't have to do this,' one commenter wrote.
'Your babies have the right to exist and be,' another said. 'We all know babies cry. We know you try your best.'
Seems like not everyone in the skies is so understanding.

'80s Pop Icon, 63, Puts Major Glow-Up on Display: 'She Has Aged Beautifully'

'80s Pop Icon, 63, Puts Major Glow-Up on Display: 'She Has Aged Beautifully' originally appeared on Parade. Alison Moyet, 63, has never looked (or sounded) better. The '80s icon, often referred to as 'the female David Bowie,' dazzled fans on her recent European tour—and it wasn't just her rich, bluesy voice. The former Yaz (Yazoo in Europe) lead singer's appearance had fans doing a double a video shared to TikTok, the Situation songstress sported a form-fitting, long-sleeve black top and skirt, which showcased her shoulder-length deep red hair. Moyet put her 1980s-inspired dance moves to the test as she moved her svelte body around the stage, grooving as if no time had passed since the hit song came out in 1982. Moyet's unique, emotive voice has always set her apart from the rest. Her raw, unfiltered, bluesy sound is undeniable. There is no mistaking Alison Moyet's voice for timeless voice was only slightly eclipsed by her age-defying demeanor. Naturally, fans took note. One wrote, 'How after all these is she now looking in her prime ❤️' We were wondering the same thing. Some fans weren't as gracious about the quality of Monet's singing voice. Video from another tour date from Moyet's tour begs to differ.
