Police described her as having a slim build and light brown hair that she often wears in a bun.

Seven to appear in court after protesters clash with police at Palestine Action demonstration

Seven people have been charged following clashes with police at a demonstration in support of the soon-to-be banned group Palestine Action. A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said officers made 13 arrests for offences including assaulting an emergency worker, obstructing a constable and breaching Public Order Act conditions. Of the other individuals arrested at the Trafalgar Square march, one has been cautioned and the remainder either bailed or released under investigation. A statement from the Met Police reads: 'While the protest initially began in a peaceful manner, officers faced violence when they went into the crowd to speak to three individuals whose behaviour was arousing suspicion. 'This sequence of events repeated itself on multiple occasions, with officers being surrounded on each occasion they tried to deal with an incident.' The road at one corner of the square was completely blocked, with a line of police ready to stop the participants from leaving the area. The protest had initially been planned to take place outside the Houses of Parliament, but the location was changed early on Monday morning when Scotland Yard imposed an exclusion zone. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper said in a statement on Monday afternoon that she has decided to proscribe Palestine Action a nd will lay an order before Parliament next week which, if passed, will make membership and support for the protest group illegal. Belonging to or expressing support for a proscribed organisation, along with a number of other actions, are criminal offences carrying a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison. The decision comes after the group posted footage online showing two people inside the base at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire. The clip shows one person riding an electric scooter up to an Airbus Voyager air-to-air refuelling tanker and appearing to spray paint into its jet engine. After Monday's protest, Liam Mizrahi, 25, of no fixed address, was charged with a racially aggravated public order offence, and was remanded to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday. Eleanor Simmonds, 31, also of no fixed address, was charged with assaulting an emergency worker and was bailed to appear at Croydon Magistrates' Court on July 25. Lavina Richards, 37, of Elsdale Street, Hackney was charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and was remanded to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. Bipasha Tahsin, 21, of Pinchin Street, Tower Hamlets was charged with assaulting an emergency worker. She was bailed to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on July 8. Matthew Holbrook, 59, of Somerhill Road, Hove, Tom Jubert, 40, of Chippendale Street, Hackney, and Hafeza Choudhury, 28, of Berkeley Path, Luton, were charged with breaching Public Order Act conditions and were bailed to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on July 21. A 31-year-old woman received a caution for assaulting an emergency worker. Palestine Action has staged a series of demonstrations in recent months, including spraying the London offices of Allianz Insurance with red paint over its alleged links to Israeli defence company Elbit, and vandalising US president Donald Trump's Turnberry golf course in South Ayrshire.

The watch-mad Met detective calling time on Rolex robbers

Millions of tourists will arrive in the capital this summer, and London's biggest attractions and nighttime venues are banking on a busy trading period. Detective Sergeant Andy Swindells of the Metropolitan Police is also braced for a hectic few months. As head of the proactive robbery unit, his small team of officers are focused on tackling robbers who prey on victims wearing the world's most desirable watches. 'July and August are our peak months; the weather is great, people are wearing T-shirts and short-sleeve tops, and their watches will be on show,' Swindells, 52, said. 'Watches are a status symbol — people want to show them off, but sadly it creates problems.' While personal robbery across London has dipped 14 per cent over the past year, watch thefts have crept up since April. About four watch thefts are reported each day but the true figure could be higher, because many victims do not come forward.

Police investigate ‘indecent exposure' during online Stormont meeting

Police in the North are investigating a report of indecent exposure during a meeting at Stormont. Explicit images and threatening messages were reportedly posted during a meeting for parents of young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Advertisement While many adults and young people attended in person, arrangements were made to allow others to attend remotely via Zoom. A user on that platform is reported to have transmitted the explicit images and threatening messages during the meeting. SEN Reform NI and Caleb's Cause NI, which organised the event, issued a statement apologising for the incident, and said they were going to look at how to safeguard future zoom calls. Advertisement 'The whole purpose of SEN Reform NI is to keep parents at the heart of everything we do. This is why when we have events we love to have parents involved and included at every step of the way. 'For our event in Stormont today, we had many parents come along but also arranged a zoom as we understand what it's like to find childcare, or even leave our children at all. 'Parents were sitting on a zoom with their children, listening to the different ways we can protect and support them. 'The fact that someone decided to use this space to do what they did was absolutely disgusting. Unfortunately, this does mean we will have to look at putting safeguarding elements in place when planning future zooms. Advertisement 'This is something we are going to look into and take advice on how we can ensure our future zooms are a safe space for all involved. 'To the person who committed a serious offence during our zoom this afternoon. The PSNI have been informed. Shame on you.' The PSNI said officers received a report of indecent exposure online in the east Belfast area at about 12.15pm on Tuesday June 23. 'Inquiries are ongoing and anyone with information that could assist police is asked to get in touch via the 101 number, quoting reference 675 of 24/06/25,' they said. Advertisement
