If you're waiting for a grand moment to launch AI at your company, you're probably already behind. According to McKinsey's 2025 Global Survey on AI report, 71% of organizations now "regularly use generative AI in at least one business function, up from 65% in early 2024." At Phobio, we approached AI not as a transformation to be orchestrated, but as a wave we had to learn to ride—quickly and deliberately.
AI success isn't about the underlying technology; it's about understanding its potential and empowering teams to explore it. That means removing fear, providing tools and giving permission to iterate.
Despite widespread interest, only 8% of organizations consider their AI initiatives 'mature,' according to a 2024 Enterprise Strategy Group survey. At Phobio, we choose progress over perfection. We didn't build custom LLMs or hire a fleet of data scientists. Instead, we prioritized accessible, well-guardrailed tools that anyone on the team could use—Claude.ai, ChatGPT and NotebookLM for communication and analysis; Cursor and Gamma for our more technical and content-focused teammates.
Every customer conversation—such as email chains, agendas and meeting notes—is funneled into shared Claude projects. Anyone can ask, 'How would our customer respond to this idea?' and get a context-aware, insightful answer. The value is both immediate and practical.
It turns routine documentation into something closer to institutional memory—and transforms good ideas into better execution.
Our approach was deliberately simple:
• Start with education. We held team-wide sessions to demystify AI—what it is, what it isn't and where it fits.
• Create low-risk sandboxes. We encouraged experimentation without pressure or performance metrics.
• Foster internal sharing. We launched a Slack channel for AI wins and challenges. 'AI Show & Tell' became a biweekly tradition. By week three, people were sharing wins on Thursday nights.
• Use a simple framework: Analyze everything. Augment most tasks. Automate what you can (usually not much).
When people realized AI wasn't a threat but a tool to become fearsomely productive, they embraced it. In Microsoft and LinkedIn's 2024 Work Trend Index, 75% of employees reported that they're "already using AI at work." We didn't mandate adoption—we created space for it.
In a survey of 822 business leaders, companies reported AI-related cost reductions of 15.2% and revenue increases of 15.8%, according to Gartner's 2023 generative AI survey. We've seen meaningful returns from consistent micro-improvements across our teams.
It began small: halved meeting prep time, customer emails written in minutes instead of hours and documentation that gets done. These aren't headline-grabbing stats, but they compound daily across the organization.
More importantly, with advancements in AI memory, reasoning and multimodal capabilities, we're moving from tools to agents. At Phobio, we're actively piloting AI agents to manage routine inquiries and workflows, allowing our team to focus on high-touch, high-impact tasks.
One of the biggest myths about AI is that it demands a grand vision or massive investment to make a difference. It doesn't. PwC estimates that AI is increasing workforce productivity by at least 30%. But that increase isn't the result of moonshots—it's the outcome of thousands of small, strategic optimizations.
For companies still on the fence, here's the bottom line: Organizations that embrace AI for product development already enjoy faster speed to market, increased personalization and lower operating costs.
At Phobio, well-implemented AI hasn't just made us faster—it's made us sharper, more creative and more strategic. When routine tasks are streamlined, people have time to think deeply about customers, competition and innovation.
AI isn't coming to take your job. But someone who knows how to use it might.
As leaders, we have a responsibility not just to deploy AI but to democratize it. The productivity race won't be won by companies with the biggest models—it will be won by those with the best culture. The future belongs to organizations that empower everyone to use these tools effectively, safely and creatively.

Egg prices for consumers fell to 5-month low in May. Here's why.

Consumers are finally getting a break when it comes to egg prices. Egg prices dropped to $4.55 in May, down 11% from $5.12 in April, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The price drop for a dozen Grade A large eggs comes as the effects of a years-long, widespread avian flu outbreak recede and demand for eggs softens slightly, as it usually does this time of year. "There are two main drivers behind the drop in prices — abatement in the conversation about bird flu, and some seasonality in uses of eggs. Typically as we move into summer, demand for eggs soften, as people shift to consuming more meat and grilling outdoors," Brett House, an economics professor at Columbia Business School, told CBS MoneyWatch. "People aren't making heavy breakfasts, so we don't see demand for eggs being as strong as it typically is during the winter months." While egg prices have declined for two consecutive months, down from $6.23 a dozen in March, they remain elevated compared with 12 months ago. In May 2024, a dozen eggs cost $2.70. David Ortega, a food economics professor at Michigan State University, told CBS MoneyWatch that avian flu containment has been responsible for most of the decrease in the average price of eggs. "This is primarily due to a reduction in the number of commercial facilities that have been impacted by the bird flu," he said. "A lot of bird flu activity in the beginning of the year led to a significant surge in egg prices, but those impacts have really lessened over the past couple of months." Wholesale egg prices began to decrease in March, according to Ortega, and the price drops are now starting to show up at the retail level. "There's a bit of a lag before they reach consumers at the grocery store," he said. The bird flu outbreak, which began in the spring of 2022, is not yet entirely contained and continues to impact the industry, he cautioned. "It's still very much an issue," Ortega said. A May outbreak at an Arizona layer farm affected nearly 1.4 million birds, according to data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Consumer Price Index data shows that while overall food costs rose slightly in May, egg prices dropped. "But egg prices are still substantially higher than they were 12 months ago, even after two months of decreases," House said.

Experts Say Retail Inflation Fears Have Moderated. Don't Believe It.

The inflation from tariffs takes time to arrive. getty The Wall Street Journal reports that the 2.4% (annualized) inflation in retail consumer prices in May was lower than expected and defies 'fears that the impact of President Trump's tariffs would start to show a rise in prices.' The New York Times says inflation is 'muted, with limited effects from tariffs.' Don't listen. There's a lot of reasons why the information for May is not indicative of what will happen the rest of the year. Here's why: When manufacturers abroad increase prices, it takes time to go through the system. Goods ordered today typically don't get delivered for another 90-180 days. That's the primary reason why inflation for May is moderate. The products being bought today were ordered and delivered before higher tariffs ever happened. But there are other reasons. Brands and wholesalers usually do everything they can to avoid price increases. As long as they're still selling older inventory that came in at lower tariff rates, they are going to hold off on increasing prices. The CEOs I talk to in the supply chain are trying to hold the line. They are sharing the cost of the tariffs among manufactuers, wholesalers and retailers so that they don't have to raise prices. That can work for a little while but it's not going to work for very long. There's also another short-term factor that's holding prices low. Wholesalers, brands and retailers are bringing out their slow-moving inventory. Because it can be sold at the old pre-tariff price, it's more attractive now than ever. Those less fashionable, slow-selling products are increasing the supply which is holding prices down. It's another short-term fix and it won't last for long. Because of timing, the inflation from tariff increases will show up at your local retailer in the third and fourth quarter. You will start to see it in the back-to-school season. It won't be in school basics that are ordered from manufacturers well in advance, like pencils and uniforms. You'll see it in discretionary items that are ordered closer to delivery dates, like licensed products or the latest toys. The fourth quarter is where the real impact will come. That's when almost no products on store shelves will have pre-tariff prices and increases will be unavoidable. While tariffs are the main driver of price increases, they aren't the only driver. The uncertainty around tariffs has made retailers very conservative. They are holding back on commitments to large orders of discretionary items. The things you want most won't be available to late shoppers or they may be more expensive. That conservative approach means less excess inventory this year, fewer sale items and fewer day-after items available. That will put upward pricing pressure on retailers and facilitate price increases. Coupled with the increased costs from tariffs, prices can only go in one direction and that's up. When you look at how consumers are acting, you can see it. Discretionary item sales in many categories were up a lot in April, as was foot traffic in stores. Consumers are advancing their purchases to beat the increases. Inflation is a self-accelerating phenomenon. The expectation of inflation causes workers to ask for more wages and their employers have to raise prices and the cycle keeps on going. Breaking the cycle is the challenge. Any basic cost increase including tariffs will push the inflationary cycle. It's on its way here and you will see it in good time.

Get a Free Marvel Rivals Future Foundation Skin and Hawkeye Skin in Season 2.5

Marvel Rivals season 2.5 is moving the Hellfire Gala afterparty to space -- our heroes are heading to the sentient planet Arakko to prevent Ultron's planet-exterminating plans from coming to fruition. Stopping a robot army is going to require a whole new wardrobe's worth of battle gear. Luckily for you, there are many ways to unlock some free skins in the hit hero shooter right now -- including a new seasonal pass that unlocks a free Mister Fantastic skin. This Combat Chest event is the debut of a secondary battle pass system in Marvel Rivals, and it's a fairly standard experience-based reward. Free-to-play gamers will be able to unlock sprays, emotes and other odds and ends but the big ticket item is the Mister Fantastic Future Foundation skin. Outside of the latest event, there are still other ways to earn free skins right now. Whether you're getting used to the new suite of team-up abilities or you're getting in more playtime on the latest addition to the Strategist roster by beaming down enemies with Ultron, season 2.5 has introduced a slate of free skins that you can use to deck out your favorite characters. Here's what you should know about the Combat Chest, the Cerebro Database Part 2 event and the rest of the free skin lineup at the beginning of Marvel Rivals season 2.5. The Combat Chest is a new type of battle pass -- it's a more traditional experience-based progression system. NetEase Games/Screenshot by CNET Get the Mister Fantastic Future Foundation skin during the first ever Combat Chest event A new type of experience-based battle pass launched at the beginning of season 2.5. The Combat Chest is a smaller, half-season battle pass that rewards consistent playtime over challenge completion. The free track contains one costume, while the premium Combat Chest (which costs 690 Lattice, or roughly $7) has two additional costume rewards. It contains 24 reward tiers and each reward tier requires 1,800 experience points to unlock. Players can earn a maximum of 7,200 experience points every day so it's theoretically possible to earn every Combat Chest reward in six days. The free Mister Fantastic Future Foundation skin is on tier 18 of the Combat Chest so it will take the most enterprising players four days to unlock the new addition to the body-bending hero's wardrobe. Premium skin rewards include Storm Ultimate Wind-Rider on tier 6 and Magneto Binary Sword on tier 24 of the Combat Chest. The first version of this shortened alternate battle pass will disappear July 11 at the end of season 2 but any players who purchase the premium version can continue unlocking any remaining tiers after that date. If you want to complete the Future Foundation skin collection, you'll have to hold your horses -- and get ready to shell out some cash. The Invisible Woman Future Foundation and Thing Future Foundation skins are included in an in-store bundle that will be released on June 13, and while we don't yet know how much they'll cost, you can expect to spend several thousand units on them. A Spider-Man Future Foundation skin is likely to appear sooner than later, but has not yet been officially revealed. Hawkeye is infected by Ultron's biomechanical virus in the new Binary Arrow skin. NetEase Games/Screenshot by CNET Get the Hawkeye Binary Arrow skin free in the Cerebro Database Part 2 event The Cerebro Database event is live now. It began with the launch of the season 2.5 patch on May 30 and ends on June 27. While this event is fairly easy, the presentation might confuse some players. As with any Marvel Rivals event, you'll need to complete challenges to earn rewards. In this event, though, each featured character (Iron Man, Black Widow, Magneto and Ultron) has nine unique challenges arranged in a 3x3 board. The new Cerebro Database event plays out just like the previous one -- including the annoying time-gated challenges. NetEase Games/Screenshot by CNET You don't need to complete all 36 challenges to receive all of the event rewards. Instead, you need to complete enough challenges to make three separate horizontal, vertical or diagonal lines on all four boards to finish the event. Basically, you're playing tic-tac-toe to quickly make three lines on all of the boards to earn your rewards as efficiently as possible. Like most Marvel Rivals events, several characters' boards are time-gated, which means that the most enterprising players have only been able to unlock the Hawkeye Binary Arrow skin starting on June 11. If you aren't gunning to complete all four sets of challenges, you can still earn Chrono Tokens, units, sprays and gallery pages. How can I get free skins during Marvel Rivals season 2.5? Players who link their Twitch account to their Marvel Rivals account right now can nab a free Emma Frost skin. But if you only care about rewards you can earn in-game, a different Emma Frost skin and an Ultron skin are available by progressing through the competitive ladder and new Iron Fist and Magik looks are available free on the season 2 battle pass. The immortal Iron Fist goes toe-to-toe with Doctor Strange in his new free battle pass skin. NetEase Games/Screenshot by CNET What Marvel Rivals skins are available free right now?
