After India-Pakistan border tension which took both nations to the brink of war, it seemed unlikely that the cricket team from both nations will face each other anytime soon. But within one week, the International Cricket Council (ICC) have announced two upcoming blockbuster India vs Pakistan encounters.
On Monday, the ICC announced the full schedule of the ICC Women ODI World Cup 2025 set to take place in India and Sri Lanka. The India vs Pakistan match in the ODI World Cup 2025 will take place in Colombo on October 5.
Now on Wednesday, the ICC have come up with a detailed schedule of the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 – being organized in the United Kingdom. According to the schedule, the India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2026 match is scheduled to take place at Edgbaston, Birmingham, on June 14.
Both BCCI and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have decided that they will not play in each other's country but can play in any neutral venue. As a result, the ICC men's Champions Trophy 2025 was held with a 'hybrid' model with all of India's matches taking place in Dubai.
The ICC men's T20 World Cup 2026 scheduled for February-March next year is also expected to be held in a 'hybrid' model like the ICC women's ODI World Cup 2025.
The Women T20 World 2026 will open with hosts England taking on Sri Lanka under lights at Edgbaston on Friday 12 June, kicking off a whirlwind month of world-class action that will see 12 teams battling it out for the prestigious trophy, currently held by New Zealand.
Hundreds of thousands of cricket fans will have the opportunity to witness nail-biting showdowns between the likes of Australia and South Africa, India and Pakistan, and New Zealand and the West Indies, as the tournament travels the length of the country, firmly propelling women's cricket into the mainstream.
After their opening clash against Pakistan, India will move to Headingley for their contest against a qualifying team on June 17, followed by contest against South Africa at the Old Trafford on June 21.
While India will face the second qualifying team of Group 1 on June 25 at Old Trafford, their toughest game will be against Australia on June 28 at Lord's.

With the semi-finals and final already confirmed to take place in London, at The Oval and Lord's respectively; iconic venues such as Headingley, Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Bristol County Ground and Hampshire Bowl will also play their part in showcasing world-class cricket throughout the earlier stages of the landmark tournament.
England captain, Nat Sciver-Brunt, said: 'World Cups are always special, but this one already feels different — it has the potential to be truly game-changing. It's going to be a huge moment for our sport and a brilliant opportunity to inspire young people and captivate fans across the country. Playing on home soil, for the biggest prize, against the best players in the world, it's going to be unmissable. I can't wait to be a part of it.'
The newly expanded competition will see 12 teams descend on England and Wales in 2026. Eight countries are already sure of their place, with the final four participants to be decided through an ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier next year.
