His team cites unforeseen health issues...
Kelvin Momo's team has apologised to fans after he failed to show up at three confirmed performances.
The Amapiano star, whose real name is Thato Ledwaba, was scheduled to perform at Café 69, Piano Hub, and Makubenjalo.
His team released a statement on Monday explaining that he was unable to attend due to health complications.
'To our valued fans and patrons, we want to extend our sincerest apologies for missing our scheduled performances.
'Due to unforeseen health issues, our artist, Kelvin Momo, fell ill, forcing us to cancel these highly anticipated gigs,' the statement read.

Earlier this month, Sunday World reported that Australian promoter Ace Events had filed a liquidation application against Momo's company, Kelvin Momo Production, in the Johannesburg High Court.
This was after he failed to honour performance commitments in Melbourne and Perth, where he was booked to play 60-minute sets on two consecutive nights in November 2024.
Ace Events claims they are owed more than R2.8 million in refunds and damages after the DJ failed to appear.
In April this year, Momo withdrew from a headline performance at Zambia's Piano Palooza festival. He later released a statement saying he was unable to attend due to a scheduling clash with another performance in Limpopo.

Virat Kohli fulfils IPL dream as Bengaluru claim first title

Batting great Virat Kohli fulfilled an 18-year dream of winning an IPL title with Royal Challengers Bengaluru after they beat Punjab Kings by six runs in Tuesday's final in Ahmedabad. Kohli's 43 from 35 balls at the top of the order set up Bengaluru for an imposing total of 190-9 which was one big blow too many for a Punjab side that battled until the end, finishing on 184-7. More than 91 000 fans packed into the 132 000-capacity stadium, a sea of Bengaluru's red and Kohli's jersey number 18 dominating the stands as chants of 'Kohli, Kohli' rang out. They celebrated noisily when Kohli and RCB clinched victory for the first time in the 18 years of the IPL, their three previous finals having all ended in defeat. The 36-year-old Kohli, one of India's all-time greats in all formats of the game, collapsed on the ground after the win and then got up to be hugged by his teammates as the crowd celebrated their hero. 'This win is as much for the fans as it is for the team, it's been 18 long years,' said Kohli. 'I've given this team my youth, my prime, my experience. I gave it everything I have. 'I never thought this day would come. I was overcome with emotion as soon as the last ball was bowled. 'I have stayed loyal to this team, no matter what. My heart is with Bangalore, my soul is with Bangalore and this is the team I'll play for till the last day I play the IPL.' Punjab put up a feisty response to the Bengaluru total but faltered in their chase after left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya took 2-17 from his four overs. Shashank Singh hit a valiant 61 not out and finished with three sixes and a four off Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood who defended 29 runs in the final over. Hazlewood, who took 3-21 against Punjab in last week's qualifier win after recovering from a shoulder injury, struck first to send back left-handed Priyansh Arya for 24 with Phil Salt taking a stunning catch at the ropes. Impact substitute Prabhsimran Singh was the next to go off Pandya but the Bengaluru crowd went wild when Romario Shepherd had skipper Shreyas Iyer caught behind for one. Pandya stuck again to cut short Australian wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis' stay on 39 and Bengaluru seized momentum and Shashank's late blitz was not enough. 'I am very proud of each and every individual who has participated in this team,' said Iyer. 'There are a lot of youngsters who are playing their first season, they've shown a lot of fearlessness. We wouldn't be here without them. Kudos to them.' Bengaluru had the perfect start as 'King Kohli' dug in. Far from his fluent best, he only struck three fours during his innings but in the end it turned out to be key. He lost opening partner Salt for 16 when New Zealand quick Kyle Jamieson struck in his first over to have the England batter caught in the deep off Iyer. Virat Kohli top-scored for Bengaluru with 43 © Arun SANKAR / AFP Kohli, who was his team's best batter this season with 657 runs including eight half-centuries, anchored the innings, sharing important partnerships with Mayank Agarwal, who made 24, and then skipper Rajat Patidar, who hit 26. But Punjab kept chipping away with wickets as leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal got Agarwal and Jamieson trapped the captain lbw. Kohli's vigil ended when he mistimed a rising delivery from Afghanistan pace bowler Azmatullah Omarzai for a caught and bowled, the disappointment etched across his face mirrored by his fans. Jamieson took his third wicket to cut short Liam Livingstone's rampant 25 off 15 balls. Wickets kept tumbling as wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma fell for a 10-ball 24 and Romario Shepherd for 17 off nine balls. Left-arm quick Arshdeep Singh took three wickets including Shepherd in the 20th over and gave away just three runs. The 18th edition of the world's richest cricket league ended nine days late due to a pause caused by the military conflict between India and Pakistan. Scotts Maphuma faces backlash for missing major children's festival in Mozambique

Amapiano artist Scotts Maphuma finds himself in trouble after being detained in Mozambique for missing a scheduled performance. Image: Instagram Amapiano artist Scotts Maphuma, real name Mpho Lebajoa, is making headlines once again, and this time it is because he found himself in hot water as he was reportedly arrested over the weekend in Mozambique, where he was scheduled to perform. The 'Shayi'Moto' singer was set to perform in the country over the weekend at an annual Children's Day festival in Matola, Mozambique. However, he did not show up to the event, and he later discovered that things work differently in Mozambique, finding himself in trouble with the local authorities. It all started when a video of the artist in a police holding cell circulated on social media and sparked mixed reactions as well as questions from fans. Local reporters from 'Mz Magazine News' posted the video on their Instagram with a caption that reads: 'Scotts Maphuma é levado a esquadra por não ter chegado a tempo de actuar.' It translates to: 'Scotts Maphuma is taken to the police station for not arriving on time to perform.' Maphuma was meant to headline the Children's Day festival on Sunday, June 1, at an event known as 'Lizha só festas' in Matola, a vibrant Mozambican suburb. The disappointed attendees took to the comment section to share that not only did Lebajoa not arrive, but he allegedly detoured to perform at a royal event first, hence he was late and detained for not showing up to perform for the little ones. Instagram user @darcia_da_julia_bunitinha commented: 'Instead of going to perform for children early, he preferred to go to the royal event first, perform for adults; that should have been banned. He should never set foot in Mozambique.' Before the drama unfolded, the Amapiano sensation posted on his Instagram stories, assuring attendees that he is on his way to the children's event. 'Matola! I'm on my way, bafethu (guys), I'm on my way to the children's event. 'Lizha só festas!',' he exclaimed. More festival attendees were poking fun at the whole situation, one even asked that they get refunded some of the money back to buy the disappointed children who were looking forward to seeing the artist, a hamburger. This comes after the Amapiano singer faced major criticism from fans who accused him of being arrogant when engaging with his fans. When he faced public scrutiny, he opened up about his struggles with fame, revealing that he is tired of being judged for not always being in the mood to take pictures or interact with fans. However, things took a turn for the worse when fans appeared uninterested in his performances at 'Cotton Fest' and Coyotes Lounge in Mbombela, which led him to publicly apologise to his fans. 'I want to take a moment to sincerely apologise to all my supporters. I've let some of you down, and I take full responsibility. Growth comes with owning your mistakes, and I'm committed to doing better for myself and you. Thank you for still believing in me,' he wrote. The star took to his social media to sincerely apologise for his behaviour and remarks, which garnered him support from his industry peers.

Scotts Maphuma in Hot Water Over No-Show Drama

South African Amapiano star Scotts Maphuma is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. A video of musician Scotts Maphuma in a holding cell has set social media ablaze and sparked serious questions about the artist's no-show at one of Mozambique's biggest children's festivals. The artist was booked to headline a major National Children's Day festival in Mozambique, a high-profile event that draws thousands of families annually. But attendees said, 'Maphuma didn't just arrive late—he never showed up at all.' The drama began when the Amapiano artist posted a video on his Instagram, announcing that he was on his way to the festival. Hours passed, and there was still no sign of the star. Local reports and eyewitnesses claim that instead of heading directly to the event, Maphuma allegedly detoured to perform at a royal gathering, a move that has enraged both fans and parents who were waiting with their children. Mozambican netizens didn't hold back. Comments ranged from sarcastic jabs like 'Is he still arriving?' to serious backlash calling for his cancellation. Others added that he should 'never set foot in Mozambique again.' Soon, a video of him in a police cell was shared online. In Mozambique, laws regarding live performances require artists who are no-shows to refund their performance fees. The holding cell incident appears to be linked to this, although full details remain unclear. This incident follows a previous article by the Citizen, which highlighted Maphuma's unpredictable behaviour and rising controversy in the music scene. ALSO READ: Lord of the Rings strikes again! Inside Lebo M's latest engagement and marriage chronicles While Scotts raised eyebrows, this latest drama has seemingly confirmed growing concerns about the artist's professionalism. Maphuma later took to Instagram Live, offering no explanation but signalling he was no longer in custody. Still, the damage may already be done.
