Hill leads Ball State to 86-84 OT victory against Eastern Michigan
MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) — Jermahri Hill scored 21 points and his go-ahead dunk with two seconds left in the overtime pushed Ball State past Eastern Michigan 86-84 on Tuesday night.
Hill had eight rebounds and seven assists for the Cardinals (12-12, 5-6 Mid-American Conference). Payton Sparks shot 5 of 7 from the field and 9 of 11 from the free-throw line to add 19 points. Jeremiah Hernandez shot 5 for 9 (1 for 3 from 3-point range) and 7 of 8 from the free-throw line to finish with 18 points.
Jalen Terry led the Eagles (11-13, 4-7) in scoring, finishing with 25 points, five assists and three steals. Eastern Michigan also got 18 points and three steals from Christian Henry. Da'Sean Nelson finished with 17 points, six rebounds and eight assists.
Ball State entered halftime up 40-33. Hill paced the team in scoring in the first half with 11 points. Ball State was outscored by seven points in the second half and the teams finished regulation tied 75-75.

White reiterated the patience part Monday. The rematch with the Liberty isn't until Saturday at home, which should give Clark some decent practice time. 'We're going to be smart, and we're going to be cautious and we're going to play the long game and work her back in very intentionally,' White said. Clark is averaging 19 points, 9.3 assists and six rebounds in four games this season. This is the first time in her college or pro career that she's missed games. She averaged 19.2 points and a WNBA-leading 8.4 assists as a rookie. The Fever are also without guard Sophie Cunningham, who has been limited to four games by ankle injury. (AP) — Visiting the Stanley Cup Final weeks before hearing their names called early in the NHL draft, top prospects Matthew Schaefer, Michael Misa, James Hagens and Jake O'Brien got a surprise at the Panthers' practice facility on Monday. Brad Marchand pulled up a chair and joined them for breakfast. The 37-year-old veteran shared some laughs and chatted with them hours before he and the Florida Panthers face the Edmonton Oilers in Game 3. 'You think you're just going to say hi, and then you're sitting at a table with Marchand and he's talking to you,' Schaefer said. 'We were talking about the draft and the (scouting) combine, and he was like, 'I didn't get to go there.' And he's laughing, and I'm like, 'Well, look where you are now: You're in the Stanley Cup Final.'' Schaefer, Misa, Hagens and O'Brien also met Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl and took in the Oilers' morning skate. Schaefer first met McDavid in January when the three-time MVP returned to Erie, where his No. 97 was retired by the Otters of the Ontario Hockey League. This interaction — in the arena where McDavid was drafted first a decade ago — went a little smoother.
