Mario Kart World: How To Unlock Mirror Mode Tracks
Have you already mastered Mario Kart World's new brand of racing? Have you practiced every wallride and time skip in the game? Maybe it's time to try something new and take on the Mirror Mode challenge.
Mirror Mode was introduced in Mario Kart 64 and has shown up in every entry in the series since the GameCube-era Double Dash. This mode flips every race track across the y-axis so that left turns become right turns and vice versa. For gamers who have already mastered the perfect way to drift around every corner, this reimagining of every course interrupts muscle memory and makes old races feel new again.
In Mario Kart World, players are able to unlock a version of Mirror Mode that lets them flip each cup around for a different racing experience. You'll also get a chance to mirror the Free Roam area, drastically changing one of the biggest new Mario Kart features.
These Mirror Modes unlock in two different ways. Here's how to unlock Mirror Mode races and Free Roam in Mario Kart World.
Keep an eye out for Free Roam collectibles. Knocking out P-Switch challenges is important if you want to unlock Mirror Mode.

How to unlock Mirror Mode races in Mario Kart World
There's a small laundry list of requirements that you'll have to knock out if you want to unlock Mirror Mode races in this game. You'll have to master the existing in-game cups as well as extensively engage with Mario Kart World's new Free Roam feature. Here's everything you need to complete in order to unlock Mirror Mode races in Mario Kart World.
Complete all Grand Prix Cups and Knockout Tour Rallies in 150cc
You'll have to beat every race in the game at the current fastest speed in order to unlock the Mirror Mode for their tracks. Interestingly, you don't actually need to place first in these cups to fulfill the requirement -- just make sure you've completed these races in the 150cc mode, as the slower races don't count toward unlocking Mirror Mode.
Collect 10 Peach Medallions and ? Panels
Peach Medallions and ? Panels can be found in the nooks and crannies of Mario Kart World's Free Roam mode. Peach Medallions are often hidden in corners or off the beaten path, whereas ? Panels are more likely to be found in open areas or on wallriding sections of racetracks. You'll need to find at least 10 of each of these collectibles in order to unlock Mirror Mode.
Finish 10 P-Switch challenges
In addition to picking up collectibles throughout the world, you'll have to find and complete 10 P-Switch challenges. These big blue buttons unlock special timed courses to complete in the open world. You need to fully complete 10 of these challenges to fulfill the Mirror Mode requirement.
Complete the Special Cup on 150cc (again)
This is the last step to unlock Mirror Mode in Mario Kart World, and you can't complete it before wrapping up the other requirements. If you've already beaten the Special Cup on 150cc before beating the other races and picking up all of those collectibles, you'll have to complete this set of races again. The good news is that you don't need to get first place to unlock the special mode. Just like with the Grand Prix Cups and Knockout Rally Tours, completion is what matters here.
Once you finish the Special Cup on 150cc, you'll get a notification alongside a small icon of the Peach Stadium's stained glass window that informs you that you've unlocked Mirror Mode. You'll be able to choose Mirror Mode from the race selection screen -- and this notification gives you a hint about how to enter the new mode in Free Roam.
You'll have to pop on top of Peach's castle and enter the stained glass window (top left) in order to enter Mirror Mode in Free Roam.

How to enter Mirror Mode in Free Roam in Mario Kart World
Free Roam's Mirror Mode won't take nearly as much effort to activate. Instead of filling out a list of requirements, you only need to find a single secret in Mario Kart World's open world to activate this version of Mirror Mode.
To flip Free Roam around the y-axis, you'll have to unlock the Mirror Mode for regular cup races first. After you've done that, visit the Peach Stadium track while exploring the world. There's a secret stained glass portrait of Princess Peach that you need to locate on this course.
You can find this stained glass portrait on the roof of Peach's castle. Locate one of the parts of the racetrack where you can drive off and land on the roof and then climb toward the middle of the castle. The portrait is front and center on the castle roof -- you can't miss it. Drive through the stained glass to enable Mirror Mode in Free Roam.
Disabling Mirror Mode is as simple as driving through the Peach portrait once again.
What are the rewards for beating Mirror Mode?
Once you unlock Mirror Mode, it's only natural that you blitz through the newly flipped race tracks in each Grand Prix Cup. Just know that there aren't any new racers, karts or tracks to unlock by beating the cups with Mirror Mode on. The only reward you'll earn is a renewed sense of pride and accomplishment for tackling this challenge.

I've played Nintendo Switch 2 for over a week — and I'm already bored
I wasn't a fan of the original Nintendo Switch, but the Nintendo Switch 2 caught my attention when it was announced. I was interested in the new machine since it addressed almost every technical issue I had with its predecessor. Switch 2's more ergonomic design makes it easier to use in handheld mode, and games look and perform great on 4K TVs. It's not a giant leap forward, but it delivers meaningful changes. The first weekend I spent with the Switch 2 was fantastic. Playing Mario Kart World with some of my Tom's Guide colleagues was a blast, and I enjoyed seeing how games like Street Fighter 6 worked with a Pro controller. Tinkering with the settings to get the best picture quality on my OLED TV was also enjoyable. However, over a week later, I'm back to playing on my PS5. While the Nintendo Switch 2 is undoubtedly an impressive system, I'm about ready to shelf it until I have a reason (or reasons) to play it. Here's why I've grown bored with the Switch 2. Nintendo Switch 2 takes what worked about its best-selling predecessor and makes impactful upgrades across the board. From the excellent, and noticeably larger, 7.9-inch display to the more powerful internal specs, the Switch 2 is a full leap forward and the best hybrid console you can buy. Note that the system is currently sold out, so keep an eye on our Nintendo Switch 2 restock page for updates! Aside from Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, which is effectively a tech demo, Mario Kart World is currently the only true Switch 2 exclusive. As its name suggests, this game features a giant open world to explore when not participating in races. If you like Forza Horizon 5, you'll feel at home here. The slew of gameplay modes, unlockables and other secrets arguably justify its $80 asking price. Like I said, I had a lot of fun playing this game with colleagues. I even dabbled in some online matches, though none of the folks I played with used mics to talk. Throughout the week, I'd try to get first place in every Grand Prix race and unlock new characters, costumes and vehicles along the way. Trying (and failing) to master techniques like wall riding was also fun. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of incentive to keep playing. As we said in our Mario Kart World review, the open world is great if you just want to aimlessly drive around. But if you're a goal-oriented gamer like me, even this admittedly impressive open world can get stale fast. I also wish the game had some kind of checklist of what you've unlocked and what you need to do to unlock other items. Anything to give me more direction (no pun intended) would have been appreciated. Again, I want to stress that Mario Kart World is absolutely a reason to buy a Switch 2 since it can offer a lot of replayability for long-time fans. However, Nintendo tourists like me might not stick with the title for long, even if they think it's an overall great game. The Switch 2 isn't lacking when it comes to third-party support. Everyone from the likes of Capcom, Sega and Square-Enix have ported some of their games to Nintendo's latest system. And unlike the original Switch, the Switch 2 does a better job of running graphically demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077 and semi-open world titles like Yakuza 0. If you're a Nintendo-only gamer, finally having a chance to play major third-party games is a big deal. However, if you're like me and also own a PS5 and a gaming PC, then you've most likely already played many of the system's third-party offerings. And though Switch 2 games look great on the handheld's 7.9-inch 1080p display or your TV/monitor in docked mode, they're not as visually sharp as they would be on a rival platform. The main reason you'd want to buy a third-party game you already own is if you want to take it on the road. This was a huge selling point for the Switch back in 2017. Things are different now in 2025 since PC handhelds like the Steam Deck OLED and Asus ROG Ally X exist. If you want to play games like Street Fighter 6 and Cyberpunk 2077 on the go, there's already hardware out there to facilitate that. I don't want to be too harsh on Nintendo Switch 2 since it's not the first video game console to have an underwhelming launch lineup. I also grew tired of my PS5 during its launch window for the same reason. That just means Nintendo's console/handheld hybrid will become more interesting over time, especially with Donkey Kong Bananza arriving on July 17 and Metroid Prime 4 later this year. Given the current Nintendo Switch 2 restock situation, it would be a good idea to get a system now if you can find one. I have no doubt it will eventually have a robust gaming library of first- and third-party titles. If you're lucky enough to get a Switch 2, just be sure to keep your expectations in check. While the system is good, it has yet to really show us what it's capable of.

Wordle hints today for #1,459: Clues and answer for Tuesday, June 17
Hey, there! We hope your week is off to a great start. Let's make it even better by extending your Wordle streak. In case you need some help with that, here's our daily Wordle guide with some hints and the answer for Tuesday's puzzle (#1,459). It may be that you're a Wordle newcomer and you're not completely sure how to play the game. We're here to help with that too. Wordle is a deceptively simple daily word game that first emerged in 2021. The gist is that there is one five-letter word to deduce every day by process of elimination. The daily word is the same for everyone. Wordle blew up in popularity in late 2021 after creator Josh Wardle made it easy for players to share an emoji-based grid with their friends and followers that detailed how they fared each day. The game's success spurred dozens of clones across a swathe of categories and formats. The New York Times purchased Wordle in early 2022 for an undisclosed sum. The publication said that players collectively played Wordle 5.3 billion times in 2024. So, it's little surprise that Wordle is one of the best online games and puzzles you can play daily. To start playing Wordle, you simply need to enter one five-letter word. The game will tell you how close you are to that day's secret word by highlighting letters that are in the correct position in green. Letters that appear in the word but aren't in the right spot will be highlighted in yellow. If you guess any letters that are not in the secret word, the game will gray those out on the virtual keyboard. However, you can still use those letters in subsequent guesses. You'll only have six guesses to find each day's word, though you still can use grayed-out letters to help narrow things down. It's also worth remembering that letters can appear in the secret word more than once. Wordle is free to play on the NYT's website and apps, as well as on Meta Quest headsets and Discord. The game refreshes at midnight local time. If you log into a New York Times account, you can track your stats, including the all-important win streak. If you have a NYT subscription that includes full access to the publication's games, you don't have to stop after a single round of Wordle. You'll have access to an archive of more than 1,400 previous Wordle games. So if you're a relative newcomer, you'll be able to go back and catch up on previous editions. In addition, paid NYT Games members have access to a tool called the Wordle Bot. This can tell you how well you performed at each day's game. Before today's Wordle hints, here are the answers to recent puzzles that you may have missed: Yesterday's Wordle answer for Monday, June 16 — PETTY Sunday, June 15 — QUAIL Saturday, June 14 — GHOST Friday, June 13 — BILGE Thursday, June 12 — VIXEN Every day, we'll try to make Wordle a little easier for you. First, we'll offer a hint that describes the meaning of the word or how it might be used in a phrase or sentence. We'll also tell you if there are any double (or even triple) letters in the word. In case you still haven't quite figured it out by that point, we'll then provide the first letter of the word. Those who are still stumped after that can continue on to find out the answer for today's Wordle. This should go without saying, but make sure to scroll slowly. Spoilers are ahead. Here is a hint for today's Wordle answer: A practical joke. There are no repeated letters in today's Wordle answer. The first letter of today's Wordle answer is P. This is your final warning before we reveal today's Wordle answer. No take-backs. Don't blame us if you happen to scroll too far and accidentally spoil the game for yourself. What is today's Wordle? Today's Wordle answer is... PRANK Not to worry if you didn't figure out today's Wordle word. If you made it this far down the page, hopefully you at least kept your streak going. And, hey: there's always another game tomorrow.

Hailey Bieber Delivers Ultimate 4-Word Comeback To Husband Justin's Anti-Mother's Day Post
After fans accused Justin Bieber of purposely trying to embarrass his wife, Hailey Bieber, with a recent string of online posts, social media users are now praising her for seemingly getting back at her husband. One of the pop star's perplexing posts was a message to his wife on her first Mother's Day last month. The couple, who tied the knot in 2018, welcomed their son, Jack, last August. 'Love u moms but mothers day sucks ass,' the singer wrote May 11 on his Instagram Notes, a post he deleted hours later. Adding insult to injury, Bieber appeared to share a screenshot of his stinging words in his Instagram Story the same day. In a follow-up post, he added, 'Good luck today for anyone navigating Mother's Day.' While social media users criticized the 'Peaches' singer's bizarre tirade against Mother's Day, Bieber did switch up his tone while celebrating his wife. 'Best mommy day gurlie,' he wrote alongside multiple photos of her in what appeared to be the couple's living room. Bieber also posted a video of himself surprising his wife with a mariachi band on the big day. On Father's Day, the Rhodes founder appeared to get back at her husband. Under a black and white selfie of Justin Bieber that he captioned 'I'm a dad that's not to be fucked with,' his wife commented, 'Father's Day sucks ass,' according to screenshots captured by BuzzFeed and otheroutlets. Her comment appears to have since been removed. Reps for the Biebers didn't immediately respond to HuffPost's request for comment. While it's unclear whether the pair were serious about their comments, social media users were delighted over the model's feisty clapback. 'Hailey should've kept her 'Father's Day sucks ass' comment because what a queen she is for that [hand clap emoji and fire emoji],' one person wrote. Another tagged Hailey Bieber and asked her, 'Where's your comment?' adding, '[You] ate.' Meanwhile, Justin Bieber appeared to address his mental health in a post Monday, telling his nearly 300 million Instagram followers that he knows he's 'broken' and has 'anger issues.' 'People keep telling me to heal. Don't you think if I could have fixed myself I would have already. I know I'm broken. I know I have anger issues,' he began in his message. He 'tried to do the work my whole life to be like the people who told me I needed to be fixed like them,' he continued, 'and it just keeps making me more tired and more angry.' Bieber added: 'The harder I try to grow, the more focused on myself I am. Jesus is the only person who keeps me wanting to make my life about others. Because honestly I'm exhausted with thinking about myself lately, aren't you?'
