Dee Hsu takes six-month break from "Dee Girls Talk" following sister Barbie's tragic passing

Yahoo10-02-2025

10 Feb - Dee Hsu (aka Xiao S) has decided to take a six-month hiatus from her show "Dee Girls Talk," with Sandy Wu stepping in as interim host. The show will continue its regular broadcast schedule.
The announcement came through the show's social media channels, "The programme expressed its gratitude to all the loyal viewers of 'Dee Girls Talk'. Your support and watching are the biggest motivation for us to continue to work hard. Recently, our host Xiao S took the initiative to inform the programme that she needs to take a leave of absence for half a year due to the tragedy at home. EBC fully supports this decision."
The production team explained that after discussions, Xiao S encouraged the show to continue broadcasting to maintain its spirit of bringing joy to viewers.
They stated, "Thank you, Sandy Wu, for agreeing to work with us on the show during Xiao S's break at the request of producer B2, continuing the spirit of the show. Thank you, Xiao S, for still caring about the show while handling private matters. We sincerely hope that she can make a full comeback after the break and see our beloved Xiao S again. We are all waiting for you to come back!"
While Sandy's temporary role has been confirmed, the production team has not specified if she will host for the entire six-month period.
Meanwhile, Dee's co-host Patrick Liu left a comment in the announcement, writing, "I'll do my best and wait for my sister to come back."

"Dee Girls' Talk" co-host Patrick Liu wishes Dee Hsu a happy birthday

16 Jun - As Dee Hsu celebrated her birthday in private, her show co-host Patrick Liu recently posted a photo of them together to wish the TV personality a happy birthday. The photo, shared on Threads on 14 June, seemed to be an old photo of Dee and Patrick, where Dee smiled warmly to the camera while Patrick made a victory gesture with his one hand and another wrapped around her shoulder. He added a birthday cake, a white heart and a tumbler glass emoji. Patrick said through his rep that he did send his regards to Dee, saying, "After all, she is still resting, so it is hard to arrange a birthday party, but we hope she can return as soon as possible on the show." He also sincerely hoped that Dee would be in good health, adding, "Thank you for bringing me warmth and bringing joy to everyone." It was last month that the producers of "Dee Girls' Talk" revealed that the TV host is expected to return in the second half of the year after taking an indefinite break following sister Barbie Hsu's passing. She also posted a message on social media back in May, saying, "[Barbie], I really need to pull myself together now. Because mum misses you so much. I miss you so much. But I need to take good care of mum. If I don't, you'd probably say, "Xu Xi Di, how old are you and you still don't know how to take care of mum?" Mario Kart World Hides Mirror Mode Free Roam Behind a Mario 64 Easter Egg

Mario Kart World fans have discovered a way to zoom around the game's open world in Mirror Mode — and the way to access it is a cool throwback to a classic Nintendo platformer. Remember warping through the paintings in Princess Peach's Castle, back in Super Mario 64? Well, you can use a similar method to access Mario Kart World's Mirror Mode in Free Roam, if you drive over and scale the same royal residence's roof. Fair warning, you'll need to have unlocked Mario Kart World's main Mirror Mode before this secret is possible. IGN has tested this method without Mirror Mode unlocked, and it doesn't work until you have that sorted first. So, if you've not done it already, you'll need the Mirror Mode option unlocked for Grand Prix and Knockout Tour by completing all cups on 150cc and finishing a handful of P-Switches, Peach Medallions and Question Panels in Free Roam. With Mirror Mode unlocked, you can then set about finding the secret to explore Free Roam in Mirror Mode, too. Load up the game's central Princess Stadium course in Free Roam (remember you can fast travel there from the world map using Y) and leap off the road as you spiral upwards with the castle on your right. Aim to land on the large red roof below you, then drive over to the castle's main turret. In front of you lies its large stained glass window featuring Peach and... you know what to do next. Driving through the window causes a Mario 64 painting-style ripple, and warps you through to a mirrored version of Mario Kart World's, er, world. Ta-da! Even your world map is flipped. You can see this all for yourself in the video embedded below: Earlier this week, Nintendo fans completing Mario Kart World discovered Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto was missing from the game's credits, but his absence probably shouldn't come as too much of a surprise. Meanwhile, in Japan, a farmer has praised the game's portrayal of its fan-favorite Cow character — and specifically its mucky butt. Check out our Mario Kart World guide and learn how to unlock every hidden Mario Kart World character, plus how Kamek Unlocks work — you'll need them to unlock NPC Drivers. We've also got a guide to all the Mario Kart World food scattered across the open world and where to find it, which will help you get all the Mario Kart World outfits and costumes permanently. Sarah Jessica Parker 'Shocked' By Unpopularity Of ‘AJLT's Che Diaz, Says She Loved Working With Sara Ramirez

With the arrival of season three of And Just Like That, the sequel to Sex and the City, viewers have noticed the absence of Sara Ramirez as Che Diaz, a non-binary stand up comedian who was previously the love interest of Miranda (Cynthia Nixon). The character proved polarising with fans, with some critics describing her as a caricature of queer culture and an example of how the show has clumsily tried to update itself for the reboot. Kelley Is "Hopeful" For 'Big Little Lies' Season 3: "We All Want To Do It Again" Sydney Sweeney Teases 'Euphoria' Season 3: "Cassie Is Crazy" Mickey Down & Konrad Kay Reveal The Tarantino-esque Series They Were Working On Before 'Industry' - SXSW London Now, star and producer Sarah Jessica Parker has said she was 'shocked' to discover the character was so deeply disliked. Parker told The Guardian newspaper this weekend: 'A friend of mine brought it up to me, and it's like: 'What are you talking about?' And he said: 'Yeah, there's all this conversation.' 'I've been an actor for 50 years, and I've almost never paid attention to peripheral chatter. I loved working with them.' As for her own character Carrie, on her enduring romantic rollercoaster supported by the more constant consolations of her friends and her love of fashion, Parker said she was delighted by the use of the word 'antihero' to describe her. 'I prefer that to any other description of her, because it allows her to be as male as the men have been. I love The Sopranos so much, and I look at all the times [Tony] was unlawful, and we loved him. Carrie has an affair and everybody falls apart. 'An antihero, to me, is somebody that's not behaving in conventional ways, and she hasn't ever… A lot of people love her too, though!' Sex and the City ran for 94 episodes between 1998 and 2004.
