West Yorkshire Police urged anyone with information about the vandalism, or who saw what happened, to get in touch.
The Incommunities spokesperson added: "We will continue to work with the local community and partners to find solutions that help make the area safer."
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "We are investigating a report of criminal damage of a CCTV camera on Stoneyhurst Square on 7 April and inquiries are ongoing."
