#BestofBallito: NMR Electrical celebrates a decade of connecting the North Coast
This year marks a monumental milestone for NMR Electrical – a decade of powering the North Coast community with reliable, innovative and top-quality electrical services.
Ten years ago, a small but passionate team set out to light up local neighbourhoods with more than just electricity; they aimed to spark trust, excellence and a commitment to safety that would stand the test of time. Today, NMR Electrical has grown into one of the North Coast's most trusted service brands, illuminating homes, businesses and institutions with expertise and dedication.
Recently, the company took a significant step towards further growth by expanding to a new branch in the Western Cape.
Sheffield remains home to NMR Electrical's primary operations, which include the installation and repair of all things electrical – from solar systems and generators to smart home features.
'Our focus on quality work and fast turnaround times is supported by genuine care for our community and customer support to match,' said company director, Mervyn Ramasamy.
These pillars of excellence have earned NMR Electrical nominations in two categories of this year's Best of Ballito Readers' Choice Awards – Best Electrician and Best Solar.
'I want to express my deepest gratitude to our valued clients, suppliers, associates and everyone who has nominated and voted for us over the years,' said Ramasamy.
'Your trust, support and collaboration have been invaluable to our success. You've not only been our business partners but have become friends along this journey. Thank you for believing in us and for helping us reach new heights.'

Popular African destination to launch new visa-on-arrival system
Egypt, a popular African travel destination for tourists from far and wide, will be piloting a new visa-on-arrival system this June. According to Travel News , the country will launch a new digital, self-service visa-on-arrival system at Cairo International Airport starting mid-June. The new visa system will offer a number of options for travellers to obtain emergency visas upon arrival through a QR code. Visa payments will also be made electronically through self-service kiosks at the airport terminals or via a dedicated mobile app. Travellers will reportedly benefit greatly from the new system, including last-minute arrivals without visas, those with incomplete documents, or individuals who were unable to secure a visa prior to departure. Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, explained that the system will also help streamline the entry procedures for obtaining emergency visas and reduce congestion and overcrowding at airports. This new pilot program is part of the African nation's larger efforts to enhance tourist's visits, improve the efficiency of the entry process, as well as expand Egypt's capacity to accommodate higher tourist arrivals. Orlando Pirates interested in signing African top teenager prodigy!
Orlando Pirates are set to announce a number of new signings soon as the transfer window opens for next season. Pirates are rumoured to have been busy with boosting their squad ahead of another busy campaign in 2025/26. One of the positions that Pirates seem keen to revamp ahead of the new campaign, is their midfield. According to reports, the Buccaneers have transfer agreements in place to sign Sihle Nduli and Sinoxolo Kwayiba. Nduli would be arriving from Stellenbosch FC as a free agent, while Kwayiba is set to join from Chippa United. Now according to Soccer-Laduma , Pirates are also targeting young Zimbabwean forward Prirnce Ndlovu. 'He (Ndlovu) trained with Pirates in March 2023 and and at that time he was only 16-years-old. He was preparing to go to Europe but things didn't work out. It's believed that since then Pirates scouts have apparently been monitoring him and now they are willing to give him a chance at the team. They have kept tabs on him and they are impressed by his progress at Highlanders FC in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe,' said the source to the same publication. A second source said that Pirates will be monitoring Ndlovu in the ongoing COSAFA Cup in Bloemfontein. 'Pirates will have the chance to continue monitoring him (Ndlovu) when he plays for the Zimbabwe national team at the COSAFA Cup. Yes, it's believed that the scouts and recruiters are happy and this will give them a first-hand chance to see him in action before they could finalise anything,' said the second source to the same publication. Pirates already have two young wingers in Relebohile Mofokeng and Mohau Nkota. Adding the exciting Ndlovu to the mix will increase their depth and strength for next season. Buccaneers will Ndlovu, would this be a good move for the club? Let us know by clicking on the comment tab. Or by emailing info@ or sending a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1.
