A rumor that circulated online in late May 2025 claimed rapper Eminem announced a $10 million investment to build stray dog rescue facilities.
For example, on May 21, a manager of the Eminem Logic Facebook page posted (archived), "SOCIAL MEDIA SHOCKER: Eminem unexpectedly announces a $10 million investment to build a 'paradise' for stray dog rescue – promising love and shelter for thousands of abandoned dogs!" The post, which received hundreds of thousands of engagements and potentially millions of views, purportedly displayed three photos of Eminem, two showing him with dogs. Many other users also shared the same rumor on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, X and YouTube, including some posts calling Eminem's alleged venture a "sanctuary."

However, searches of Bing, DuckDuckGo, Google and Yahoo found no news media outlets reporting about this matter. Eminem was simply the latest famous person attached to a fabricated story about an investment into building stray dog rescue facilities. The people who created these posts included photos giving off the general look of pictures generated by artificial-intelligence (AI) tools. As such, the rumor Eminem announced an investment of millions of dollars into helping stray dogs was false.
A May 18 post (archived) showcasing the rumor about Eminem investing in stray dog rescue facilities featured a link in the top comment. That link led users to an advertisement-filled article on the plain-appearing WordPress blog thepublicpulse.com. That article falsely claimed the rapper announced the investment news on his X profile. A check of his X feed found no such posts.
The inclusion of the link to the ad-filled article highlighted the likelihood that the people who create such false rumors do so with the goal of earning advertising revenue, and that they cycle through various famous people with the hope of some of the posts receiving viral shares.
Snopes contacted by email a representative for Eminem and will update this article if we learn more information.
Earlier in May 2025, Snopes reported about the unfounded rumor of singer Jelly Roll investing $20 million, also for a "paradise" for rescuing stray dogs.
Additionally, other social media users baselessly claimed in posts, during the month of May, that various NFL quarterbacks each allegedly invested millions of dollars into stray dog rescue facilities, including Pittsburgh Steelers' Mason Rudolph, Buffalo Bills' Josh Allen and Dallas Cowboys' Dak Prescott. MLB second baseman Jose Altuve of the Houston Astros also appeared in a post with the same rumor.

Mouth cancer, also known as oral cancer, occurs when a growth of cells develops in the mouth, according to Mayo Clinic. The cancer can affect various parts of the mouth, including the lips, gums, tongue, inner lining of the cheeks, and the roof and floor of the mouth. Morgan's son, fellow singer Jesse Keith Whitley, shared his reaction to White's death in a heartfelt Facebook post. The tribute included a sweet collage of throwback photos of White over the years. "As I sit here in the room with hospice, I don't know really what to think or to say about this situation," Whitley wrote. "But I can say that the recent years of my life, all the way back to when I was 22-23 years old, this great man has been here and loved my mom and also me (and) my sister as we were his own." Reflecting on White's impact on Morgan and her family, Whitley said White "has shown unconditional love to my mother and been the most gentle soul to ever grace this entire family." "As we say our goodbyes, I reminisce of all the good times we have had (and) the battles he has helped overcome," Whitley wrote. State Sen. Brad Hoylman-Sigal combined units to create his Manhattan co-op
State Sen. Brad Hoylman-Sigal has long spoken out about the need for more units to address New York City's affordable housing crisis — but has consolidated multiple homes in a pricey co-op to create a multi-million dollar apartment for himself. Between 2006 and 2016, Hoylman-Sigal and his husband combined three Greenwich Village apartments to form their 2,000-square-foot pad. There is no market value listed for the apartment, though with three bedrooms and three baths, the sale price would likely be in the millions. Hoylman-Sigal is an advocate for tenants' rights, slamming rent increases for rent-stabilized tenants and speaking out about the city's low vacancy rate. He is currently running for Manhattan borough president against Keith Powers, a current city councilmember. On a 2019 podcast, Hoylman-Sigal, who represents much of the west side of Manhattan, talked to host Jason Haber, a real estate entrepreneur, about the city's affordable housing problem. Haber said that consolidating units chips away at the city's housing stock and brought up an example of a wealthy New Yorker who combined nine apartments to form a single huge luxury home. Hoylman-Sigal agreed, explaining it makes financial sense for ultra-wealthy Manhattanites to buy multiple occupied units and merge them into mansions. He lamented this practice would force more rent-stabilized tenants out of their homes. And I can't imagine to think how many families were pushed out of that residence over the years when he assembled this massive property. So it's a sad reality.' Parker's combination of the three mansions made headlines in 2016, although it does not appear he pushed any tenants out with his purchases. Hoylman-Sigal told the Daily News this week he had been referring to so-called 'Frankensteining,' or loopholes in rent stabilization laws that allowed landlords to combine or change apartments in order to hike rents up or push tenants out. That loophole was closed at the end of 2023 with the passage of legislation in Albany. Caroline Crowell, Hoylman-Sigal's campaign manager, cited his record on housing. 'In 2024, he helped secure more than 500 additional units of supportive and affordable housing in his senate district — in that same period, his opponent secured a paltry nine units in his council district,' Crowell said. 'The idea that the apartment he and his husband own in the Village has anything to do with Brad's record on increasing affordable housing is an absurd political hit.' The state senator also said he does not currently reside in the apartment, as he moved last year due to redistricting that shifted the bounds of the 47th District, which he represents.

Identity appeal after man assaulted outside pub
Police have released an image of two people they would like to speak to after a man was assaulted outside a West Sussex pub. Sussex Police said a 47-year-old man suffered significant injuries in the attack at about 16:30 BST on 17 April, outside the Block and Gasket pub in Church Road, Burgess Hill. The force released a CCTV image of two males officers would like to speak to as part of their investigation. Anyone who recognises them or can help with the investigation is asked to contact police.
