When does Indiana basketball play Oregon? Start time, preview, expert prediction, channel Tuesday
Indiana basketball tries to complete a western sweep when it visits Oregon on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
The Hoosiers (17-11, 8-9 Big Ten) have launched themselves into NCAA Tournament position, for now, with three straight wins, and four in their past five games. IU has gotten solid contribution from their projected starters (see below), as well as Malik Reneau (13.2 points, 5.6 rebounds) and Myles Rice (10.9 points, 34.7% 3-point shooting), who combined for 32 points and 11 rebounds off the bench against Washington.
The Ducks (21-8, 10-8) has bounced back from a five-game losing streak with a five-game winning streak, including an overtime victory at Wisconsin. Nate Bittle has averaged 17.6 points 8.0 rebounds during the winning streak, Jackson Shelstad 16.0 points on 46.4% 3-point shooting, and Keeshawn Barthelemy 13.8 points on 60.9% 3-point shooting.

March Madness predictions, bracketology: Where will Indiana basketball play in NCAA Tournament?
Indiana basketball vs Oregon basketball expert prediction, picks for Tuesday, March 4
Zach Osterman, IndyStar: Indiana 75-71
As others move in the wrong direction, Indiana is on the opposite side of the highway. Improving metrics and a lack of bad losses have the Hoosiers surging into the NCAA tournament field in the final week of the regular season, enriching these last two games with opportunity. First, Oregon at Oregon, which may feel like a free hit but comes with a massive reward with a win: a fourth Quad 1 road win, .500 in conference play and, in all likelihood, the guarantee of skipping the play-in round in Dayton. The Ducks are tough, with one of the Big Ten's better scoring guards and the inside size to match Indiana. They're also mercurial — they've won five in a row, right on the heels of losing six of seven. I'll throw my cap over the wall and say Oregon's streak stops Tuesday.

Henry homers twice as Canaries edge Railcats
GARY, INDIANA (CANARIES) — Jabari Henry launched two homeruns and Jordan Barth collected three hits as the Sioux Falls Canaries edged Gary SouthShore 6-5 on Tuesday. Henry opened the scoring with a two-run blast in the top of the first inning. The RailCats answered with a run in the second and tied the game in the third. Scott Combs gave the Canaries a 4-2 lead with a two-run single in the fourth. Both teams added a run in the fifth, with Barth delivering an RBI single before the RailCats responded in the bottom half. Gary SouthShore tied the game again in the sixth on a two-out, two-run double. But Henry struck again in the seventh, crushing a go-ahead solo homer that proved to be the difference. Kody Dalen earned his first professional win, while Brady Stover retired all three batters he faced in the ninth to record his fifth save. Barth finished 3-for-5 and Henry drove in three to lead the Sioux Falls offense. The Canaries (14-15) will look to clinch the three-game series Wednesday night at 6:45pm. Fever Coach Stephanie White Makes Strong Brittney Griner Admission
Fever Coach Stephanie White Makes Strong Brittney Griner Admission originally appeared on Athlon Sports. After starting the 2025 WNBA season 2-4, Stephanie White and the Indiana Fever, without Caitlin Clark, have gotten back to .500. Advertisement Amid a two-game winning streak, the Fever looked to make it three on Tuesday night, facing Brittney Griner and the Atlanta Dream. Indiana and Atlanta have already met twice this season, splitting the two battles. Griner, a 10-time WNBA All-Star, did not have her best game in the most recent loss to the Fever, tallying just five points on 2-of-6 shooting, seven rebounds and one block. However, Griner was unable to finish that game after picking up her sixth foul with 3:38 remaining in the fourth quarter, fouling out. And White certainly did not forget this strategy. Atlanta Dream center Brittney Griner Kirby Lee-Imagn Images On Tuesday, White spoke to the media during a press conference ahead of Indiana's third matchup with Atlanta. When asked about the key to stopping Griner, White said it's about keeping the center out of her spots. Advertisement "I think the challenge with BG is just trying to keep her off her spots," White said. "She does a great job of getting to her spots. If I remember correctly, she was in a little bit of foul trouble in that ball game, so we've got to continue to try to look to go at her on the offensive end. But more than anything, just try to be as disruptive as possible on the perimeter so they can't get the ball to her as easily and try to keep her from her spots." Prior to Tuesday's game, Griner had helped the Dream secure a 5-3 record. The former Phoenix Mercury center is averaging 13.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in her first season in Atlanta. Shaq Announces He's Not Watching Rest of NBA Finals
The Oklahoma City Thunder played a complete game from start to finish on Sunday evening, tying the NBA Finals at one game apiece with the Indiana Pacers. The Thunder were able to defend their home court with a dominant performance on both sides of the ball, getting their first win of the series after their thrilling and dramatic Game 1 loss. Advertisement The Finals have delivered on the hype so far, with stars like Tyrese Haliburton and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander putting up big numbers and making iconic moments. Basketball fans are eagerly awaiting the next game in the series, but one former NBA champion says he won't be watching. After the Thunder tied the series on Sunday night, Shaquille O'Neal and Kenny Smith joined NBA TV for post game coverage. O'Neal took the opportunity to express his gratitude that he could leave after Game 2, as Charles Barkley would join post game coverage for the next two games in Indiana. 'Indiana stole one. I'm just glad it's not the old format, that 2-3-2. Remember that format? That 2-3-2? So now we have a series. I won't even be watching,' O'Neal admitted. Advertisement The old Finals format would have resulted in three straight games in Indiana, which could have had adverse effects on Oklahoma City - the higher seed - playing three straight games on the road. 'I'm gonna be in the Bahamas," O'Neal said. His fellow panelists reminded him that he could still watch the game from his vacation, but he doubled down. 'Not in the ocean,' O'Neal said, affirming his stance. Some fans were able to enjoy O'Neal's candor as a funny moment, but some have expressed concern and outrage about how he's covered the league this season. Earlier this year, O'Neal admitted to not watching the Detroit Pistons despite the fact that they were a playoff team and had been one of the most compelling stories in basketball. Advertisement O'Neal, Barkley, Smith and Ernie Johnson will be heading to ESPN next year for a revival of "Inside the NBA." The show has come under fire for the lack of actual basketball analysis from some, but O'Neal's comments seem to indicate that more of the same could be on the way, even at a new network.
