Truth: Is Kaizer Chiefs interested in ex-Orlando Pirates striker?

Kaizer Chiefs are expected to add at least two strikers ahead of the next season, as they look to improve. Chiefs failed to finish in the top eight, despite winning the Nedbank Cup, that partially due to a blunt attack. Upon arrival at Chiefs last season, Nabi made it clear that the club still needs a striker. He was heavily reliant on Ranga Chivaviro as well as Wandile Duba at that time. Later in that season, Ashley du Preez returned from injury and featured more, with two new forwards signed. Tashreeq Morris and Glody Lilepo were those additions, and to mixed fortunes. While Lilepo was a success with five goals, making him the club's joint top goal scorer, Morris flopped. It is then no surprise that Nabi is back making it his personal mission to find a complete striker for Chiefs. That has since seen numerous names mentioned as possible suitors for the club in the next transfer window. One of those names has been Fiston Mayele, who recently scored in the CAF Champions League final. His goal was one of two that ensured that Pyramids FC won their first ever continental title, at the expense of Mamelodi Sundowns. Another Chiefs are rumoured to be interested in is Etiosa Ighodaro, from Sundowns. Now a shock name that has returned to the conversation is former Orlando Pirates striker Bienvenu Eva Nga. The Cameroonian was previously linked with Chiefs before joining Pirates. But according to Soccer-Laduma , the current rumours are false. 'No, not at this stage, that's not the move you can expect. There was a possibility of that in the past but not at this moment (Chiefs being interested in Eva Nga).' Said one source to the same publication. Another also poured cold water on the prospect of Eva Nga joining Chiefs. 'Chiefs are focused abroad for attacking players at the moment. I haven't heard anything about the player (Eva Nga) you are mentioning.' Said the source. Chiefs fans, are you happy that Eva Nga won't be joining your club? BREAKING: Kaizer Chiefs announce THIRD exit!

Kaizer Chiefs are working on revamping their squad ahead of a potentially busy 2025/26 season with a continental charge. Despite losing out on a top eight finish last season, Chiefs still qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup. This came courtesy of their 2-1 victory over arch rivals Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final. That also earned Chiefs their first trophy since 2015. Now both of those feats will necessitate change in the playing squad. The punished on some for a lack of quality which led to a lack of contribution. But also them having to make way for a better quality due to a higher level required on the continent. There have been quite a few rumours with regards to who Chiefs are targeting. But before those players come in, they're moving quickly to free up some space. Last week, they announced the departures of academy products Sabelo Radebe and Njabulo Blom. Following that, they have now confirmed the release of striker Ranga Chivaviro. 'Kaizer Chiefs will not be extending striker Ranga Chivaviro's contract when it expires at the end of the month. The Limpopo-born attacker joined Amakhosi from Marumo Gallants in the 2023/24 season on a two-year deal. He scored nine goals and provided one assist in 45 official matches wearing Chiefs colours over two seasons. We thank Ranga for his positive contribution to the team and wish him all the best in his future exploits.' Wrote the club on their website . Chivaviro joined Chiefs from Marumo Gallants amid much fanfare ahead of the 2023/24 season. This after he scored 17 goals in all competitions for the side. He also helped them to a semi-final run in the Confederation Cup. But he failed to live up to expectations in his two seasons at Amakhosi. Chiefs fans, is it the right decision to release Chivaviro? Orlando Pirates fight to keep key man amid Al Ahly Interest

Orlando Pirates have stepped up their efforts to retain Deon Hotto, despite mounting interest from clubs in the Middle East and North Africa, including Egyptian giants Al Ahly, now coached by former Bucs boss Jose Riveiro. The Namibian international, who joined the Buccaneers from Bidvest Wits in 2020, has become a cornerstone of the squad thanks to his relentless work ethic, adaptability, and leadership both on and off the pitch. With his current deal nearing its expiry, Pirates have already tabled a renewal offer. The club is determined to reward the 34-year-old for his consistent performances and senior presence in the team. 'The club is keen to renew his contract,' said the source. Hotto's influence stretches beyond match days. Inside the dressing room, he plays a vital leadership role that the club sees as essential to nurturing its younger talent. As the Soweto giants gear up for future campaigns, blending youth with experience remains a top priority, making Hotto's retention even more critical. Reports linking Hotto with a reunion with Jose Riveiro at Al Ahly have surfaced, but sources believe a move is improbable. While Riveiro is said to admire Hotto, key decisions at the Cairo-based club require board-level approval. The source also revealed that age could be a sticking point in any potential transfer. With Hotto now in his thirties, Al Ahly may be reluctant to invest in a veteran. Despite the interest from abroad, Orlando Pirates remain laser-focused on tying Hotto down for the long term. Talks are believed to be at an advanced stage. With the club eager to finalise the deal before pre-season preparations begin. With Hotto's influence showing no signs of fading. Keeping him at Mayfair appears to be a top priority for a team looking to stay competitive both domestically and continentally. Will Orlando Pirates convince Hotto to stay?
